38 When the devil sets his eyes on you... Part1

Su Lin stared with her mouth agape, at the handsome stranger sitting inside her bedroom, slouching on the couch, and weirdly grinning at her.

The man looked at her as if she was his prey. He was ready to attack her and gobble her up at any instant.

"What?? Did you just say you want to repay me with your body??"

She glared at the strange man who dared to make himself comfortable in her bedroom, without her permission.

"Of course. You see the goodies right? It's a perfectly good enough offer." Luther cleaned his ears with his fingernails and obnoxiously answered.

"Only available to you right now." He even added with an earnest tone.

The words coming out of his mouth did not match the elegance of his looks.

Su Lin's nostrils flared with anger. She hated these sorts of frivolous men.

She crossed her arms and glared at him. "Huh? How about I kill you right now, and you no longer have to repay me?"

"Woah. Woah. Slow down, honey. I am already yours. You do not have to play hard to get." Luther chuckled wryly.

He didn't really pay attention to the words coming out of the woman's mouth. He already knew what was in her heart.

The woman in front of him might be angrily yelling at him, but her cheeks were already deep tomato red.

And even when she handled him roughly, she clearly avoided his wound, showing her concern and care for him.

"You... You..." Su Lin stammered. It looked like this man was hell-bent on testing her patience tonight.

She impatiently stood up, grabbed his hand, and dragged him out of her bedroom.

Luther sighed and followed her lead.

It was already late in the night, he would have preferred to directly go to bed and rest for the night, but if his woman wanted to feed him dinner first, who was he to refuse this affectionate gesture.

"I am not hungry dear. Just something light would do."

"Huh?" Su Lin turned around and looked at him with confusion. Every word out of this insufferable idiot was enraging and maddening.

"Who the heck is feeding you?" She growled and her pace increased as she dragged him downstairs.

Luther's grin widened again as he saw that the woman dragging him was genuinely angry with him.

Before he could shamelessly protest this unjust treatment, he was already outside the house, and the door slammed shut loudly on his face.

"Ahhh... She kicked me out?"

The devilishly handsome man stared at the closed door, utterly stunned at Su Lin's hostile behavior. She didn't fall for me at first sight?

His grin widened and he chuckled in amusement.

The elegant figure, with his exquisite features adorned by the moonlight, gazed at the closed door for a couple more minutes, before disappearing into the darkness.

Behind the other side of the door, Su Lin sensed the man leaving her premises and sighed in relief.

She still hadn't dealt with the people who were already in her life.

She didn't need any new troublesome ones barging in, especially when the particular party was insanely mesmerizing... mesmerizing enough to test her resolve.

Su Lin locked all the doors and turned in for the night, still visibly affected by the surprise encounter.

She tossed and turned around in her bed for a long time. His masculine scent lingered on her newly washed sheets and she was irritated by it.

She tossed the sheets aside, letting them fall on the ground, and ended up sleeping directly on the mattress.

The next morning, Su Lin was rudely awakened by her loud ringtone. Runyan was already here with her luggage and things.

Just like Su Lin, she was also living in poverty, so she as well did not have many belongings.

"Sorry, Lin Lin. Were you sleeping?" Runyan worriedly asked seeing her friend's bedhead and a streak of saliva on the side of her mouth.

"No. No. Come in." Su Lin smiled and dragged her in. Unlike the previous night's unwelcomed guest, she was actually looking forward to her new roommate.

"Why don't you get settled in? I will freshen up and we can make some breakfast together."

Su Lin showed Runyan to her room and headed upstairs to get ready for the day.

Soon, the two women excitedly discussed their plans over breakfast. Su Lin brewed some tea and Runyan cooked some bacon and eggs for the duo.

Both of them were not proficient in cooking and only knew enough to make simple things.

"Today, we will head over to the herbal farms in the outskirts of the city and order some herbs." Su Lin shared her plan for the day with Runyan.

"Do you have money to buy these things, Lin Lin?" Runyan asked. She had some savings and wanted to help out if Su Lin needed more money.

"I do have some for now. We can get more, once we have a proper business plan drawn up."

"Do you remember the old man Grandpa Su I told you about? He is helping us with this for now." Su Lin partially explained the situation they were in.

However, she didn't reveal that the old man was only helping them because of Su Lin's false intentions to get back together with Shi Meng.
