While the nonsensical chatter continued in front of him, Shi Meng silently gazed at Su Lin, his eyes full of hatred and anger.

The woman was just too good at maddening him!

Tang Yue noticed where his attention was and her back stiffened. Her face darkened and she smiled faintly.

She quickly butted in again and interrupted the warm greetings between the old man and Su Lin.

"Lin Lin, quick quick. What did you get for Grandpa's birthday? I am so excited." She grinned.

"Just yesterday Lin Lin was telling me about the nice item she prepared for you, Grandpa Su."

"She even said that her gift would be the best amongst all the gifts that you received today!"

Tang Yue innocently smiled as if she was just trying to make the old man happy, but she sneered inside. Now, what will you do bitch? Show the pitiful trinket you purchased and enjoy the public humiliation!

The elder as well did not notice her true intentions. He happily looked at Su Lin curious to see what she prepared for him. 

"Ah, you are such a good child. Did you go through so much trouble to prepare a gift for this old man? Such a good child." 

He even used the chance to talk her up in front of the mother and son pair, so that they could see what they are missing out.

Tang Yue could barely control her laughter. This time Su Lin was really done for!

She expectantly looked towards Su Lin to see her miserable little face ripened with embarrassment.

But to her dismay, just like how she was smiling, Su Lin as well revealed a shy sweet smile.

When it came to acting like a white lotus, both women were neck and neck competing for the first position!

Runyan, on the other hand, who was silently standing next to Su Lin was profusely sweating. Oh no! Here comes the big reveal!

She was not a fool. By this time, it was clear to her what Su Lin had been plotting all along. But will everything go according to her plan?

She worriedly watched Su Lin who was still smiling sweetly like a shy little school girl.

"Ah Ah~ Sorry Grandpa, I couldn't purchase any treasures for you." 

"But I saw that your skin was looking a bit reddened and worrisome, so I worked hard and made you this herbal moisturizer. Please try it."

Su Lin nervously retrieved a pouch from her faded handbag and handed the old man a small clear glass bottle filled with translucent white paste.

The old man's eyes instantly widened. His dry skin had indeed been bothering him lately! How nice of this child to notice it and care about him so much!

Amidst the extravagant and expensive impersonal gifts, he liked this small token of affection quite a bit.

"Aya. Look at how talented you are! Let me try it." The old man gleefully opened the bottle and tried a small amount on his hand.

Unfortunately, not everyone was as happy as the old man with the humble gift. 

In fact, several people considered this to be a blatant disrespect, including Su Han and his mother, Mrs. Su.

A low murmur started spreading in the crowd and everyone threw meaningful condescending glances towards the woman adorned in the plain clothes, who clearly didn't belong here.

Mama Meng glared at this atrocity and covered her mouth in shock. "You… How dare you embarrass us like this?" Her hands were itching to slap Su Lin.

"Eh. Father, please don't apply too much. It's not a clinically made sterile one after all." Even Mrs. Su was concerned.

"Grandfather, we can try it later. Fourth uncle wants to meet you. Please attend to other guests." 

Su Han tactfully reminded the old that they were in the midst of a formal banquet and not in their private living room.

But unfortunately, the damage was already done. The crowd started chattering and several people started criticizing Su Lin for her disrespectful mannerless behavior.

Mrs. Su took the small glass bottle away from Grandpa Su's hands and passed it to someone else. She didn't want the elder to be applying that random paste any longer.

And then the bottle started being passed around in the crowd, with each trying a bit of the product, though not with good intentions.

"This even smells horrible." Someone said.

"Pfftt… What the hell is this?"

"Did she just bring a random herbal paste to the elder's 75th birthday banquet?"

"Isn't this clearly to embarrass the Su family and the Su elder?"

"Hey! This feels familiar to the other brand that I am using." 

"This lady! Did she just transfer something else into an empty bottle and faked it as if she made it herself?"

Mama Meng's entire face was red with anger and unbridled fury. This country bumpkin kept embarrassing them even after they had washed their hands off of that plague!

Even Shi Meng shifted from his frozen angry look and uncomfortably glared at Su Lin. 

Pfft… Tang Yue could barely hold her laughter in. This time Su Lin had dug for herself quite a big hole.

And she even dared to jump in all on her own!
