Tang Yue shimmered with love and affection, as she obediently stood next to the mother and son pair and greeted everyone as if she was a part of their family.

Her eyes glistened and she gazed at the man standing next to her with unfathomable adoration when suddenly her phone chimed.

Huh? An unexpected text message stared at her face.

[Yue'er, I am stuck outside. This hotel staff is not letting me in. Can you come and get me?] - Su Lin.

Tang Yue's lips slowly curled upwards as she read and re-read that message. It looked like she had some good fortune coming her way today!

"Just how badly did Su Lin look, for the hotel staff to not even send her in. Ha Ha." Tang Yue celebrated in her mind as she gracefully excused herself and glided towards the exit.

She couldn't wait to bring the unsightly Su Lin and introduce her to everyone in the banquet.

Maybe then once and for all, everyone would finally see the difference between Su Lin and her, while one is a phoenix, and the other is a country chicken.

Tang Yue soon spotted the two low-class women standing in a corner. 

"Perfect! The bitch even brought her good for nothing friend with her." She muttered and quickened her steps, as she walked towards them.

"Lin Lin! You are finally here! Why are you so late? Everyone is waiting for you. Come. Come in." Tang Yue beamed at the duo and ushered them in with a big smile.

This time the hotel staff didn't dare to block the entry of the two women, even though they were inappropriately dressed. Since Tang Yue was the mayor's daughter, they had to give respect and compromise for her sake.

As the three women walked towards the birthday banquet auditorium, everyone couldn't help but throw weird and awkward glances at them. 

Next to Tang Yue's glitter and glamorous look, Su Lin might as well have worn old sweatshirt and pants. 

With her dull washed out mockery of an evening dress and makeup less face, she really did portray the perfect picture of a country bumpkin.

Mama Meng caught sight of the trio from a distance, and her face immediately shrunk. "Why did this plague come here?" She angrily gnashed her teeth.

Su Lin's existence was a stain on their perfect royal family, that she would truly never be able to wash away in her lifetime. Mama Meng hated her to the core.

"Is she injured in the brain? She doesn't even have the common sense to dress appropriately when coming to a high-society function like this!" She pulled Shi Meng closer to her and complained to him.

Hmmm… Shi Meng noticed the new arrival as well and his expression visibly darkened.

Watching the mother and son pair act like they just ate ginger, Su Lin chuckled. She walked towards the astounded pair and warmly addressed them.

"Greetings, mother." Su Lin's small delicate face revealed a dainty innocent smile.

Even Runyan standing next to her was taken aback and swallowed her saliva. She never realized that her friend was such a good actress!

"Who are you calling mother? I will cut your tongue." Mama Meng angrily glared at her.

"Ah…" Su Lin revealed a pain expression. But if one closely noticed her eyes were still smiling.

"What are you doing here? We have important guests here. Get out before someone notices you!"

Watching Mama Meng bark at Su Lin, Tang Yue contently grinned. 

She silently walked over and stood next to Shi Meng, as if the things occurring in front of her had nothing to do with her.

As long as Mama Meng is here, Tang Yue knew that she personally did not have to make a single move to chase out Su Lin and humiliate her.

"That's enough, Xiao Ling." Grandpa Su had noticed Su Lin by now and walked over to stop the ruckus.

"Good child. Come here, let me take a look at you. At least now you decided to give this old man a visit." He smiled and affectionately patted Su Lin.

"Happy birthday Grandpa." Su Lin beamed with her dove-eyed innocent smile.

"Who is who's grandpa? Hmph." Mama Meng growled in the background.

She was not exactly watching her volume, so quite a few people heard her harsh remark.

Grandpa Su threw a threatening glance at her, which made the loud-mouthed woman snap her mouth shut.

Tang Yue recognized this as her cue and immediately stepped in to help Mama Meng.

"Sorry, Lin Lin. Don't blame Mrs. Shi. We don't mean to be rude, but you should have some tact to not attend these events since you both just got divorced." 

Tang Yue awkwardly smiled and acted as if she was trying to smooth things over, at least on the surface.

Whereas her real intention… was to remind everyone that they were already divorced…

She didn't want Shi Meng to be paired with Su Lin ever again, even if it was for a second.

And Mama Meng again started yapping, adding fuel to the fire. "What happened to all the money you stole from us? Can't you even wear something decent and attend?" 

"Did you not learn anything in the past few years? Why must you always try and embarrass us?"

Tang Yue grinned. Su Lin had her head bent low and looked extremely pitiful. She was being thoroughly humiliated.

Everything was going perfectly and she didn't even have to plan for it!!

"Lin Lin, I have a few outfits in my car. Do you want to quickly change into one of those?" She generously offered to help Su Lin out with her trademark kind smile.

Watching the duo continuously badger Su Lin, Grandpa Su sighed and rubbed his temples.

For his plan of getting Su Lin back together with Shi Meng, these two women were the biggest roadblocks.

And he was too old and tired to deal with this sort of childish bickering!

"Enough. Leave her be. Su Lin, come here. I will introduce you to some people." 

The old man stepped in and dragged the pitiful and vulnerable woman away from the lioness and the tigress assaulting her.
