Luther flipped to the last page with Grandpa Su's details, who was currently helping out Su Lin. 

The Su family and the Shi family are apparently close family friends, and because of that, the old man was helping her quite a bit, even generously giving her a house to live in.

Knowing that someone else was helping Su Lin and was on her side should have made him feel better about his decision to leave.

But something told him that the old man was probably only helping her because he wanted her to get back together with her ex-husband.

And that didn't sit well with Luther…

His eyebrows raised as the devilishly handsome man pondered pensively.

But what about Su Lin? Does she want to get back together with her ex-husband? 

Is that why she was so vehemently rejecting his advances? He couldn't help but consider that possibility.

Looking at Luther's dejected expression, Monkey cleared his throat loudly.

"Boss, this grandpa Su character is celebrating his birthday today in some 7-star hotel venue. Do you want to go check it out?" Monkey asked.

They were supposed to leave the city today, but clearly, that was not happening.

So Monkey quickly adjusted to the new situation and decided to have some fun. 

Maybe if they personally saw Su Lin being treated well by her friends and family, then they could leave the city with a peace of mind.

And they had already transferred several million to her bank account. So nothing else was left for them to do.

Luther nodded, agreeing with Monkey's plan. He didn't mind seeing her for one last time before leaving.

The two brothers quickly threw on some casual clothes and left for the birthday party venue.

Luther even took the extra precaution of hiding his impeccable face, the grand sculpture of perfection, with his hoodie hung low.

Since they just wanted to blend in the background possibly with the housekeeping crew, they didn't dress up in tuxedos or expensive suits.

As soon as they entered the party venue, the two brothers skilfully made themselves inconspicuous. 

They hid in the shadows, in a position to observe everything without drawing attention to themselves.

Time trickled by and soon the 7-star hotel auditorium was completely filled with various distinguished guests.

Today was the 75th birthday of the Su family elder, Su Zhiyuan and a huge number of guests were invited to the banquet.

True to their reputation as one of the prominent families in the city, the Su family's capital investment business was doing exceptionally good under Su Han and his dad's leadership, and even their branch family businesses in various fields were steadily improving.

So quite a few extraordinary guests and big shots were attending the elder's birthday banquet, attracting the envy from several families.

The banquet hall itself was decorated very lavishly and glamorously with no expenses spared.

Various delicacies and divine cocktails were being politely served by primly dressed waiters and waitresses and melodious cello music danced in the background. 

Amidst these auspicious celebrations, Grandpa Su was at the center of attention, with various guests walking up to him, one after the other offering their good wishes and handing out expensive gifts.

Though most of the guests were filled with jealousy, they still placated the old man and the Su family's main branch with endless fawning and flowery words for the sake of various benefits.

The Shi family and Su family were very close and more particularly Mama Meng and Mrs. Su, Su Han's mother were very good friends.

So the Shi family's mother and son pair were also standing next to Grandpa Su, Su Han, his mother and father, and greeting and welcoming the various guests.

Just as the guests greeted the old man with auspicious words and fawned over him, they didn't forget Shi Meng, who was also standing nearby.

The low neckline was framed by a thin platinum chain with a small diamond pendant.

Her makeup was very lightly done leaving behind a slightly rosy tinge on her inviting cheeks and was accentuating her pale smooth snow-white skin.

Her impeccable elegance flawlessly matched Shi Meng's natural charisma. Standing next to the mother and son pair, the three absolutely looked as if they belonged together, a picture-perfect royal family.

And this was exactly when Su Lin made her entrance, with Runyan by her side.
