13 Finding a treatment Part2

It was mid-afternoon and the fiery sun was beating down on the earth with a vengeance.

Wang Yu slowly dragged his haggard body to the small lake and took a sip of cool water. He leisurely sat down and washed his tired face.

But even after freshening up, the man looked withered, with his skin covered by countless wrinkles.

His clothes were shabby and torn beyond comfort. It was barely enough to keep him decent and not flash everyone coming in contact with him.

This combined with his disheveled appearance and his unkempt hair, made him look extremely downtrodden as if he was a beggar or a homeless person.

Well, to be fair, he was homeless at the moment.

If not for the kind people around here, in the local farming community, who took pity on him and fed him regularly, he would have wasted away into nothingness by now.

And Wang Yu, in return, as some sort of payment watched over the herb fields.

Every day, all day, he did nothing but take long walks across these multiple fields and today was no different.

As he was walking listlessly, a brightly colored pink butterfly gently landed on his nose.

The man looked a little startled, and his mind immediately went back to a familiar memory.

"Papa.. papa.. catch it fast. It's getting away."

"Oh papa.. you are the best."

"You two.. stop playing around and get inside for lunch. Don't come to me if your gluttonous uncle finishes all the chicken first."

"Papa.. let's race and see who gets into the house first... haha"

That melodiously ringing laughter kept echoing in his mind..... It was as if the events had just happened yesterday...

Wiping his tears away, Wang Yu continued walking aimlessly...

Once upon a time, the Wang family was a force to be reckoned with in Hangzhou city and he was one of the prominent young masters with infinite potential.

The man was a shark in the software business and one of the topmost computer science experts in the entire country.

But because of unfortunate events and misplaced trust, his entire life was turned upside down. In a single day, he lost everything he held dearly.

His enemies didn't even let his family go. They were almost out of danger but the whole family met with an accident on the way to the airport.

After that terrible incident, Wang Yu had a complete mental breakdown and became unresponsive like a lifeless doll.

The remaining members of the Wang family were also taken care of by the enemy and for some miserable reason, he alone was left unharmed, forever to be tormented in misery.

But, he gladly accepted this punishment. After all, he was the one to blame...

He didn't understand their power. He didn't have the faintest idea of who he was dealing with.

So all he could do now was spend his remaining prison sentence, wandering here and there, just waiting for his inevitable death.

Shooing away the butterfly, Wang Yu continued walking aimlessly around the fields when suddenly, he heard some rustling sounds ahead of him.

The man snapped back to reality and squinted his eyes. "Hmm... Weird... Let me take a look.."

Gripping his walking stick in his hand, Wang Yu inched forward slowly and cautiously.

Just last week they had had a small raccoon wreak havoc in the fields. Though the creature was small, it had thoroughly terrified everyone.

So Wang Yu slowly and cautiously peered forward to take a look. "Hmm? Nothing here?"

He took a couple more steps forward before he stopped abruptly, with his jaw dropped. "What in the name of hell ?"

A random woman was plucking out herbs willy-nilly and chewing them?!

Well... It's not like he cared... But these people have been very kind and generous to him... So he should do something right?

He approached the stranger and with his feeble and tired voice, he gently tapped the woman from behind. "Hey there."

Su Lin almost jumped up in fright. She had been busily studying the herbs and did not notice the man.

Though the land lacked spiritual energy, she had still somehow managed to find a few decent medicinal herbs.

And after spending several hours studying and analyzing the herbs, Su Lin had even miraculously landed on a feasible solution to at least control her sickness.

Though this was not what she had in mind originally, it gave her a bit more time.

And time was something she desperately needed right now...

Having finally seen a light in the darkness, Su Lin energetically started harvesting some of the aged herbs for preparing a concoction.

And thus ended up looking like a crazy person plucking out herbs randomly.

Wang Yu cleared his throat again and asked with a stronger tone the second time. "Hello. This is private property. What are you doing here? Do you even know how much these are worth?"

Confused at the accusation, Su Lin blinked and stared at Wang Yu innocently, with both her hands full of herbs.

"Oh. I already paid the farmers quite a bit for these herbs." She answered casually and went back to her frenzied harvesting.

"Hmm? I highly doubt it." Wang Yu looked at her shabby clothes and refused to believe her words.

He was just about to angrily retort when suddenly... the culprit in question fainted!
