Cubicle Vampire
"You don't walk out of me when I'm talking to you!" Velvet snapped. Alynah turned to her, glaring.
"You've grown wings to the extent of entering same elevator with Mr Hart, huh?" Velvet asked, striding towards her.
"Since when did you become the CCD?" Lux snapped from behind as Velvet turned.
"Stay out of it, Lux" Velvet retorted.
"Look at me red velvet" Lux proceeded closer to her.
"We're no mates. Hold your position, stay in your lane and stop sticking your nose in what did not concern you or else I'm gonna design your face. You know I'm capable of doing that" Lux warned, firmly staring into Velvet's eyes.
"Who are you to threaten me!" Velvet gritted.
"I'm Lux Credence. Should I just tell the boss that you're bullying our new intern? He wouldn't love to hear that the almighty operation manager stood so low to gain his affection" Lux replied with a smirk.
Velvet's face went pale as she stared at Lux in disbelief.
"Now shoo away, cubicle vampire!" Lux yelled. Velvet glared at her and then turned to Alynah
"I'm coming back for you, disrespectful brat!" She huffed and walked away. She knows best than to quarrel with Lux. They may ends up fighting, and who knows Lux will beat her up.
"I know you only helped me because I got the design manual for you" Alynah rolled her eyes.
"You got that right! Thanks aly!" Lux beamed.
"But wait, what actually happened?" She asked as they walked to their workstation.
"Mr Hart entered the elevator while I was in" Alynah replied absent mindedly and Lux froze.
"No, wait wait, you mean what?! How did it happened? And you stayed in?" Lux kept asking in disbelief while Alynah rolled her eyes.
Lux was absolutely speechless. So, Alynah was that brave to stand beside Mr Hart in the elevator?! Well, only God knows how she survived.
Lunch Time...
Lux, Kylie and Alynah were sitting in the cafeteria, chatting while waiting for their orders.
"So tell me Aly, you're in a relationship?" Kylie asked and Alynah rolled her eyes.
"Nah, I don't do ships"
"Whyyy!?" Both Kylie and Lux asked in unison.
"I can't withstand heartbreak. I've seen many of my highschool and college friends crying over a guy, I can't die because of a guy, c'mon!" Alynah replied with a groan.
"You got that point!"
"And you Lux?" Alynah asked.
"Mine is the case of enemies to lovers. He's in the animation department" Lux answered.
"By any chance is it Davies?" Kylie asked and Lux nodded with a smile.
"I knew it'll turn out this way" Kylie said excitedly.
"What about you then? Kylie" Alynah asked with a smirk, already knowing the answer.
"Only to flirt with Brett" Lux replied instead.
"No way! Truth be told girls, I like Brett a lot but he never had idea. So, he kept flirting around. It's frustrating" Kylie admitted with a sigh.
"Don't worry, maybe he likes you too'
" Alynah replied.
"Very soon, some random guy will woo Alynah" Lux teased and they laughed.
"I'm not just interested in guys" Alynah said with an eye roll.
"Not even a crush? You've never liked any guy before?" Kylie asked, getting more curious
"In my life, I've never been..." Alynah abruptly paused.
She wanted to say she'd never had anything to do with guys but then, she remembered the incident that happened four years ago and it's result. She suddenly doesn't want to come up with the topic. Those painful memories.
"Alynah?" Lux called softly when she didn't hear her say anything.
"Is everything alright?" Kylie asked, noticing her sudden change of expression.
"I'm fine" she smiled cheerfully, but once you stare into those brown eyes, you'll clearly see the sadness and pain in them.
Lux and Kylie kept wondering what must have made her look that way. There's something so mysterious about her that no one can unravel.
