Vanessa's eyes darted around as she observed the glances she received when she stepped into the cafeteria for lunch. She didn't miss the way they gestured at her with their noses and chins as they whispered amongst themselves in their clusters.

They left no doubt in her mind that they were all talking about her. That seemed to have become a norm amongst them these past months and had become worse since the release of those pictures and articles a few days ago.

Vanessa had a feeling they weren't just talking about the rumors anymore. Judging by how those who had seemed indifferent to the scandal some days ago were now staring at her, it seemed like something else had come up that she had no idea about. She had no time or interest in them.
