Baby Kicks

Alex's heart skipped a beat and his eyes widened at the feel of the slow move of the baby against his hand. It was unexplainably strange and fluttering, and Alex was awe-stricken.

He raised his gaze to Vanessa, who had a smile splitting her lips as she stared back at him. His eyes were gleaming with unexplainable emotions and Vanessa understood those feelings because she had also experienced them the first time she felt the baby move, and so had Sophia and Tyler. It was like a miracle. 

"I..." Alex's parted his lips to say something, but he could make no words out. His mind was bowled-over. 

He lowered his eyes to his hand which was still resting on her stomach and again he felt it. This time the movement was more intense, so much he jerked and retrieved his hand. 

Vanessa couldn't help but giggle at his reaction which she found very cute and amusing.
