2 Chapter 002

"Hm?" Oscar flung his eyes open. Although they were a bit drowsy, he was able to make out the faint outlines of a hospital walls.

 He couldn't help but release a self mocking smile. Heck! he vomited blood and fainted all because of a girl.

 He had known Laura since they were in high school and had been in a relationship. Although he wasn't well off, he strived to satisfy as much as he could.

 Even to the point that he abandoned his blind mother in the village. He felt like life was playing a joke on him.

-[Heh. Life is unfair too. You are not alone on that bro!] he heard a voice.

 Strangely, it came from his head.

 "Ah, i can't believe the heartbreak made me start hearing things. Laura, you have really outdone yourself!" Oscar thouit he was at the first phase of madness.

 At that moment, the medallion he wore released a burst of brilliant light that materialized into the form of a slim figure.

 It was a boy who didn't look more older than Oscar. He had a stylish haircut and clothes that just screamed SWAG!

"Who are you?!" Oscar's heart almost leapt up his throat.

 He had always heard of ghosts but he always believed them to be fake.

 What if this guy was a ghost?

 -[Don't be scared now. I am the artifact spirit of that medallion. My name is Hunks] the suave phantasm introduced.

 "You mean this? how can you be the spirit of this.. this thing"

 The medallion was given to him by his blind mother. Although he didn't quite believe it since he had once tried selling it off at an antique store to buy an expensive branded bag for Laura.

 However, the shop keeper threw him out saying the medallion was a fake rip off.

 Since then, Oscar just wore it on his neck, hoping that it would be just as what his mother claimed..

 -[Since you managed to awaken me, i will grant unto you the first inheritance. Once you reach a suitable level in strength, you can then recieve the second, third, fourth, fifth, and on and on]

"Inheritance? what inheri.."

 Oscar was interrupted by a sudden headache. It was as if his head was somebody was constantly smashing his head with a sledge hammer.

 The pain lasted for a full ten minutes. Then it suddenly vanished.

 Pant. Pant. Pant.

 Oscar felt like he had just ran a marathon. The hospital bed was soaked with his sweat.

 He suddenly heard a mechanical voice in his head.

 Yep! Oscar gave up on himself. First he was hearing things, now he was imagining things..

 Just at that moment, a golden card with pitch black stars numbering twelve materialized before him.

 Yup! i'm seeing things now!

 Curious, Oscar stretched out his hands, expecting them to phase through the floating card.

 Hm?

 He brought the card over for inspection. The card felt extremely cold and at the same time, hot. It did look like a bank card, but Oscar couldn't identify just what material it was made of.

While he was drowning in his own thoughts, the door swung open. A man in secs and white lab coat walked in.

 "You are awake?!" the doctor gasped when he saw the patient seated.

 "I Just got up. What hospital am i? what happened to me? what time of the year is it?"

 The doctor ignored the torrents of questions. Only after checking Oscar's temperature and pulse did he flash the anxious patient a refreshing smile.

 "You were brought in here by a fat young man who claims to be your classmate. You were suffering from cardiac arrest and wrong blood flow. You should thank your stars that you managed to survive. Everybody thought you were going to die"

 Oscar remained silent. He couldn't believe that Laura's break up caused his body to react so much.

 "Did anybody come to visit me apart from the fatty?" he asked.

 "Now that you mention, a girl came visiting. She even brought you flowers" the doctor pointed at a coupon of beautiful flowers besides Oscar's bed.

Oscar's eyes lit up.

 "Who was it? Did she drop her name?" he was excited at the prospect of Laura visiting to check up on him.

 She still cares after all!

 "Uhm. She said her name was Goldie. She was a blonde"

 Oscar expression turned red. Goldie visited him?

 Goldi Martins was like the most popular girl on campus. Not only was she the number one beauty, she was also intelligent.

 She was like the perfect goddess, earning her plenty of male simps.

 Although many guys tried dating her, she never treated their advances seriously.

 Oscar had no idea why she would visit him.

 "Since you are fine and kicking, it is time we discuss your dischargement" the doctor countenance became serious.

 "You spent a week in the hospital. Your bill is ten thousand bucks" he said, while scribbling down on his report book.

 Oscar scratched his head. Six thousand?! his monthly earning was just five hundred bucks!

 How could he cough out such a large sum.

 He didn't even consider borrowing since he still had a lot of debtors.

He suddenly remembered the strange black card that 

resembled a debit card.

 "Uh, okay. But i can only pay through card" he took a leap of faith.

 He was gambling on the possibility that there was funds in whatever account the card was linked to.

 On the doctor's order, a nurse brought a POS machine over.

 Sliding the bank card, Oscar unconsciously inputted his bank pin.

 "Aish!" it was already too late when he realized his folly.

 Ping!

 Transaction Successful!

 Oscar was gobsmacked when he saw these words on the POS machine.

 Wtf! was this machine broken or something?

But that wasn't all. A notification rang in his head.

 After his discharge, Oscar didn't return back to campus. The news of him fainting after a break up must be the current hottest topic.

 He going back there would just be asking for a load of mockery and jeerings.

 Although he had a really thick face, he had better things to do.
