1 Starting in a tavern...

A troubled wizard finishes his long journey from exploring. He looks around and sees a village. He enters the village, as night falls. The wizard looks around and everything seems to be alright. The wizard decides to head into a tavern as he pulls his hood up.

He looks around and thank goodness nobody's paying him attention. The wizard gives off a sigh of relief as he takes a seat at a table near the window. He then pulls out an ancient spellbook.

He flips through the pages, trying to find anything in them. But all that he managed to read is some notes at the beginning of the spellbook. "Why is this so hard?" The wizard grumbles as he gently slams the table. He looks around and sees a party that consists of a human paladin, an elven wizard, a dwarf barbarian, and a human rogue. 'Thank goodness I'm alone, I can't imagine being in a party that has dummies…' He thinks to himself as he sighs.

He continues to read the spellbook until the paladin walks over to you. "Who are you, you unknown person?" The Paladin points his finger at him. "Oh?" He pull his hood down, "Sorry if my appearance looked evil, paladin." The wizard laugh. The Paladin sees his spellbook and immediately picks it up. "What is this book? I've never seen one like this..."

"Wait that's my father's!" He snatches the spellbook away from the paladin, "Don't you have respect for other people's stuff?"

"My apologies, I'll make it up for you let me buy you a drink!" The paladin grabs his hand and pulls you to his party. 'But I'm still not old enough to drink…' He thinks to himself as he put the spellbook away.

The paladin puts him on a stool as he also sits down on one. "Give me and this lad a drink!" The Paladin slams his gauntlet on the bar table. The bartender passes you and the Paladin two mugs with ale. The wizard grabs the mug as he stares at the ale.

"Come one, it's just a drink..." The Paladin takes off his helmet and starts chugging down the ale. The wizard turns to the barbarian who already had 10 mugs of ale on the table. "Hey, do you want my mug?" He passes the mug to him. "Hell yeah, free drink!" The Barbarian chugs the ale. The ale flowed into his mouth faster than any river that he's seen.

"Hey, so what's yer name?" The rogue asks the wizard as he leans forward. "Well, I'm Karu." Karu avoids eye contact with the rouge "Oh yeah, say do you got anything that you don't want?" The rogue leans a bit more closer.

"If you want to steal something, why are you making that act?" The elven wizard glares at the rouge as she reads her spellbook. "Man, why do you gotta be like that?" The rouge groans as he sits back on the stool.

A bright flash of light beams Karu's eyes...

Three goblins will barge in, then more will come until an individual comes through the doors of the tavern. "My foresight? But why did it activated?" Karu put his palm on his forehead. "H-Hey, it's been fun and all, but I gotta go..." You stand up.

"Where are you going?" The paladin calls. "I have to go home..." You reply. "I'll escort you there!"

"Um, you really don't have to-" Karu grabs his backpack and puts it on his shoulders. "Nonsense! I invaded your privacy, so it's only fair that I'll do any favors for you!" The paladin puts on his helmet. 'He really doesn't has to…' Karu thinks to himself.

But then, three goblins barge in the tavern. "Goblins?" The wizard closes her spellbook as she stands up. "I'll kill these monsters, for Aether!" The paladin unsheathes his longsword and runs up to one of the goblins. As the barbarian charges into another one, Karu looks around trying to find an exit.

Karu: 'The commoners are overcrowding the back exit so I can't go through there…'

The rouge backstabs the goblin that was fighting the paladin. The wizard mutters something as a small flame flies towards the 3rd goblin.

Then more goblins arrive in the tavern. "More of them?" The rouge cleans his dagger. Most of the commoners have escaped already from the tavern, at least that's good. "No matter, we'll kill all of them!" The paladin drives his longsword into a goblin.

Karu runs into a closet as the brawl continues. Then Karu feels a magical presence. It's so strong that it'll suffocate Karu. Karu steps out and the goblins are already dead. The wizard, the barbarian, and the rouge got some minor injuries. Then the individual appears...

It's a wizard. Female. With long white hair and pink eyes. Her skin is dark pink. And it seems she got a tail. Her magical aura is incredibly strong. She points at the paladin.

"You managed to take out my subjects, nicely done..." The person says. "Who are you, heretic?" The paladin points his longsword at her. "Oh, you can call me... Mahonia..." She gives off an evil smile as she notices the rest of the paladin's party. "You've brought some heat, I see... Too bad, you were doing so well. Oh well, it's time to kill!"

She let out a powerful blast of lightning that zaps the rogue.

The paladin gasps as the rouge are burned to a crisp. "You monster!" The paladin rushes at Mahonia and swings at her. But she disappears in a silvery mist. 'Wait, that was Misty step…' Karu recalls using it once when fighting a boar. "Watch out!" You yell at the barbarian.

But it was too late... Mahonia grabs onto the barbarian's neck and lightning shoots out from her hands. The barbarian jolts around, until he drops to the floor. "What a brute, couldn't even dodge it..." Mahonia sighs. "Burn!" The wizard yells as she throws a firebolt at Mahonia. But a large translucent sigil appears and blocks the firebolt.

"That was very impressive, taking me by surprise..." Mahonia turns to the wizard, "...But you'll have to try harder than that!" Mahonia throws a tiny flame at the wizard, then it expands when it's just a few inches away and explodes the wizard in a fiery death.

'Who is this person?!' You think to yourself. "My team, they're gone..." The paladin looked at the corpses of his teammates. "...I will not let them die in vain!" The paladin thrusts his hand upwards, "Aether, please guide me in battle!" The paladin rushes at Mahonia and slashes at her, but the translucent sigil appears and blocks his swing.

"I don't think that will help you, paladin." Mahonia laughs. "Your allies may have died, but I've still got the drop on you."

Three yellow orbs appear around Mahonia. The paladin stares at the orbs. 'That's…' You gasp. Then in an instant, the orbs shoot out a ray at the paladin, burning his full plate armor and his body. 'Scorching ray…' You take a step back. "Can't you see? You already lost, paladins are so prideful..." Mahonia takes off the paladin's helmet, "It's disgusting."

From Mahonia's finger, a ray blasts through the paladin's head. Mahonia laughs as she looks around the now busted-up tavern. She then looks at Karu. Karu let out a yelp as he take out his spellbook, shaking all the while. "It's you..." Mahonia gasps as she realizes.

"What are the chances?!" Mahonia laughs. "To find another one of you in a random tavern! Master is going to be surprised about this!" Mahonia stands up and throws the paladin's helmet away. "Who are you?! What do you want?!" Karu yell.

Mahonia extends her hand to Karu, "Now, all that I want is for you to come with me..."
