15 Chapter 13: An Ambush?

We arrived at Genesis Academy. And it was a bit quite for some reason, making it a bit creepy, for this school really is a hidden one. It may not look old physically, but the aura around it seems so.

"Jade, does this place always have this kind of quiteness everytime?" Sky asked and I could see that it gave her goosebumps for some reason.

"No. To be quite precise, this place is always joyful and full of happy voices." Jade answered and is also curious about what us happening.

"Don't need to think too much about all that. They might still be traumatized by what happened to them." This time, Marc was the one who answered. While I... Just tried to look around and it's a good thing to do, because I saw a spikey thorn of a Rose's vine, slashing towards Zandre, making me get my gun.

"Watch out!" I screamed and shot the thorns. Good thing it stopped and split in half.

"That was close~" Sky was feeling scared for a moment and went near to check his brother. "You okay?"

"Yeah... I was just, surprised." Zandre answered.

"Why would you do that?" I saw how Jade used his manipulation and in just a split second, we saw someone floating in the air with an aura around her that matches with Jade's.

"For Genesis!" She cried.

"Attaaack!!!" We were all caught off guard, when all of them started to attack us simultaneously.

"Whoa! Easy there!" I heard Marc said, and when I looked at him, I saw how he tried to defend himself. He used his sword to block anything that might hit him.

"We've come in peace!" Zandre said and used his shield to cover for her sister.

"Peace you say? HA! Don't give us bullshit!" Someone from the attacker said and used a wand to cast a spell on him. But, the shield protected him.

"Be careful everyone! They are not like those weaklings earlier!" Another said and we all faced each others back as we were sorrounded by all of this unknown predators.

"Please! We came from the Empire of Dawn!" Jade say as loud as he could and used his magic to show the logo of the empire.

"And why would we believe with some mere strangers?! How would we know that you're not just some imposters trying to fool us?!" That very first person said while trying to sound sarcastic.

"We have proof. Here!" Sky showed the letter that was delivered to Queen Imea. "There is also this dove that showed us the way." She explained and everyone was looking intently at us, like they are examining us from head to toe, eyes to soul.

"What is going on here?" We heard a voice of a middle aged woman approaching. "We heard some noise, so care to explane- Oh my gosh! Welcome my dear guests!" She called out for us and smiled sweetly. She also hurried up her pace. "You must have had a long journey. I was informed by the queen about your arrival, and we are grateful for your kindness in visiting us here today." She said and looked at everyone. "Everyone! Give your respects for this elites, for they are the legendary royal guards of the palace!" She said and everyone was shocked. Good for them though.

Everyone did as what they're told and I almost laughed at their ridiculousness. Good thing, I was able to contain myself and kept my pace.

"By the way... What was that noise about attacking earlier anyways? I heard someone shouting and giving instructions about taking care of everyone? Did something happened?" Everyone went silent for a moment, as nobody talked about it. Maybe they were all scared and humiliated at the same time.

"Let's not talk about that thing ma'am. It's for the best... Aside from that, we came here to see and inspect the place. Queen Imea's orders." Zandre said and smiled at the woman.

"I agree with my brother ma'am... The queen thinks that there are other bad things about to happen here, because of the moon." Sky answered and massaged the woman she is talking to.

"Dean Jean? Oh my gosh! Is that you?" I heard Jade said and when I looked at him. His eyes was glistening in excitement. "Oh gosh! Dean Jean you're as beautiful as the last time I saw you~" She said and bowed to greet the woman.

"Ughm... Excuse me dear, but... Have we met before?"

"Eh?" I saw his expression be like '😀' and then... "Haaaah?!?! Dean Jean don't you remember? It's me, Jade. You're former student?" He explained as hard as he could and tried not to look embarrassed.

"Pfft!" I looked at Marc when I heard him trying hard not to laugh.

"Hmm???" Dean Jean looked at Jade and squinted her eyes. Then after a minute or two of looking straight at him... "Oh? Jade Aadila? Is that you dear?" The surprise on her face was more than I expected. "Wow! You've really reached your dream!" She said and smiled sweetly. "Congratulations on being in the cavalry. So, you did do it huh?"

"What do you mean dean?" Sky asked and looked at Dean Jean confused.

"Well when Jade was still studying here, he always says that he will be serving the palace, especially the Royal Elites! So now that he is following you around, I am more than happy to know that he did reach his dream."

"Pfft! NIYAHAHAHA!!!" Ok, Marc didn't held it anymore and burst into laughter.

"Unbelievable!" Sky also laughed.

"Ma'am! You've misunderstood me! That's not what I meant." I admit it, Jade looked pitiful right now. He's trying his best to explain, but because of what the dean had said, maybe his words will be of no use anymore. "All I meant about serving the palace, is to be with the Royal Elites! I meant to be part of them, not just a follower."

"Oh my! Is that so? I'm so sorry for thinking differently dear~" The dean giggled at this. "So does this mean that you are now part of these four?" She asked while smiling.

"Fourth in rank ma'am!" He said confidently and smiled with head high.

"Congratulations then!" The dean said and after that, she invited us inside the school.

We diverted her attention earlier about the question. We don't want these students to be punished anyways, that's why Sky initiated a new topic. Good thing Jade continued and made her forget about it. I just she doesn't remember it.

Anyway, as we were walking inside of the school. I can't help but feel strange. I felt this right when we arrive outside the school gates. And I also can't stop looking around. This strange feeling. Only one person can make me feel like this.

"Excited to see her huh?" Marc asked and smiled while also looking around the school. "Can't argue... It's been how many years since you last saw each other." He said and looked at me. "The only question is, if you know what she looks like now... She must have changed and have been more matured after all those years, right?" He again asked, making me gulp. We stopped our track.

"I don't know." Was the only thing I could answer to him.

"Don't worry, I'll help you find her." He said and tapped my shoulder before he continued to walk away.

Everyone was now ahead by meters.

"Thank you~" I whispered and didn't made anymore sounds and just continued walking while looking straight.
