9 Sonkun Mother, Hand Over The Divine Child

After rising from his seat, King Steinberg approached the mother-and-son duo. Lord Silver and Lady Adaline bowed respectfully as they greeted his majesty. "We greet your majesty," they spoke in unison, their voices filled with reverence.

"I usually don't venture out, but today's occasion is quite special. I came to see the divine child with my own eyes," King Steinberg said in a calm tone, his gaze fixed upon the infant nestled in his mother's arms.

Upon hearing the king's words, shock rippled through the noble families present. Even Old Man Vesprech, the patriarch of the Vesprech family, was taken aback. Regret washed over him as he realized that they had not informed anyone about the child except Kustav and Lenchester family. He sighed inwardly, thinking, 'How could he know? We were careful to keep it a secret.' It dawned on him that hiding the matter had proven futile, now the entire Steinberg kingdom would learn about the divine child.

The crowd, too, was astir with astonishment. Whispers and murmurs filled the air as the nobles contemplated the implications of the king's presence.

"What is His Majesty saying? Could this child truly be a divine child?"

"If the king himself has come personally, it must mean that the child is indeed a divine child."

"Ah, now I understand why the unusual phenomena occurred in the Vesprech family yesterday."

"But the Vesprech family did not announce the existence of a divine child."

"Hmm, are you nuts, you know, if word gets out about a divine child, everyone will be vying to possess it."

Conversations overlapped as various individuals offered their own interpretations. The Kustav and Lanchester families exchanged concerned glances, realizing the potential consequences. 'The Vesprech family is in serious trouble,' they thought. 'If powerful families from empire become aware of the divine child, they will stop at nothing to obtain it, even if it means starting a war.'

At that moment, King Steinberg spoke with a calm yet commanding voice, his words cutting through the commotion. "Vesprech family, hand over the divine child to us. We will ensure his safety and provide him with the best care and upbringing."

Upon hearing the king's request, Lady Adaline took a step back, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and determination. She addressed the king with a firm resolve, "I am sorry, Your Majesty, but I cannot hand over my child to anyone." Her gaze then shifted to her family members, particularly Lord Silver. However, she was met with an unbelievable sight - her family members, one by one, turned their heads in shame, avoiding her eyes. Quickly regaining her composure, she addressed the entire assembly, her voice unwavering, "If anyone wants to take my son, they'll have to do so over my dead body."

Lord Silver attempted to persuade Adaline, his voice tinged with desperation. "Please, my love, consider giving our son to His Majesty. We cannot handle the trouble that will follow if we refuse. Our family lacks the power to protect him."

"Yes, daughter-in-law, we truly cannot handle the challenges that lie ahead," added Old Man Vesprech, his tone filled with concern.

Everyone present in the hall joined the chorus, imploring Adaline to reconsider. However, she stood firm, repeating her defiant stance, "Take him over my dead body."

"As you wish," King Steinberg responded calmly and extended his hand toward Adaline, though a small arc of red electricity began dancing on his finger. The flickering arc, though seemingly harmless but everyone present there knows how powerful it is, it contained thirty percent of the king's strength. With a swift motion, the arc shot toward Adaline in a blink of an eye, poised to strike.

Adaline instinctively protected her child, turning her back to face the impending strike. She glanced at her son regretfully and whispered, "Live well, my son. I may not be with you as you grow, but my blessings will always be with you."

As the red arc neared Adaline's back, ready to bring about her demise, it abruptly vanished into thin air like it was not there in the first place, seeing that King Steinberg's face became pale, something telling him quickly to take out his life-saving treasure.

Five minutes passed, yet nothing happened. Adaline cautiously turned to face to see what had happened but, only to find everyone staring at her with wide-open mouths. Before she could make sense of the bewildering turn of events, a small golden arc materialized in front of her, she felt her gentle warmth from it but in the next moment, it shot towards King Steinberg.

The sight left everyone in the hall dumbfounded. King Steinberg staggered backward, barely managing to retrieve a hidden treasure and mutter something under his breath. Upon impact, *Boom* The golden arc propelled him through the wall of the hall, leaving behind a gaping hole. The guests collectively gasped, shouting, "Your Majesty!"

Old Man Odin, his complexion pale with worry, quickly rushed through the breach in the wall, he knew that if King Steinberg perished here, it would spell doom for the Vesprech family. To his relief, King Steinberg panted heavily on the ground, his face is pale white. Offering his support, Odin helped the king to stand up on his feet, King Steinberg sighed in relief, as he thought ' If I didn't bring the life-saving treasure with me, I would have died out here without knowing how.'

After some time Odin and King Steinberg stepped through the hole, he came forward, bowing deeply and apologizing to Lady Adaline, "Miss Adaline, I am truly sorry. Please restrain your son from attacking me. it was just an act, everything was an act, I wanted to see the capability of your child that's why I acted this way. My father warned me to never to provoke the divine child, but in my excitement, I couldn't resist. I deeply regret my actions and sincerely apologize for the distress I have caused."

King's words hung in the air, his body trembling at the realization that he had narrowly escaped death. The thought of the powerful King Steinberg being struck down by a one-day-old divine child, it sent shivers down his spine, everyone presented in the hall was also got surprised, they quickly want to rush over to their family and tell them that they saw an unbelievable scene.

...

As Xin Yang, the divine child, continued to rest in his mother's arms, his gaze fixated on the king. Unbeknownst to the others, a faint aura of killing intent emanated from his eyes. At that moment, the king's soul teetered on the edge of death, but nobody in the room sensed the danger that had just passed. Startled by his own actions, Xin Yang withdrew his hostility, realizing that the king had offered an apology to his mother.

Inwardly, Xin Yang also scoffed at the king, asserting his dominance. "Hmph, little king, do not dare disturb my family." With that thought, he felt a wave of sleepiness wash over him. His small body, just one day old, lacked the strength to sustain such powerful techniques for a long time. Reflecting on his exertions, he murmured to himself, "I am tired from using that technique." Succumbing once again to slumber, Xin Yang surrendered himself to the depths of peaceful sleep.
