2 Chapter 2: Normal School Day

We finally arrive at Winter High and Tech after a few more stops. Our high school has another building which is for the I.T or technology college courses which was built about a year ago.

And yes, the abbreviation of our school name is W.H.A.T.

We all go down the bus peacefully, except for me as someone almost trips me but I grab the side of the bus fast enough.

"Oops, sorry Hairy-son." I hear a familiar voice behind me, "Didn't see you there. Well, I did, but I don't care."

Piera Shay.

The most gruesome gossip girl. The school bully. The Regina George of our school. Lost her virginity at 13. Moderator of The Winter Word Wrap or the school publishing organization. The name doesn't make sense, but they say it has a nice little ring to it. And Piera has full control of the entire thing. She knows all the secrets and she shares every single one of them with just a snap.

I quickly step down before she could pull any more tricks. All I do is shoot her a look before leaving. It's useless to argue with her, and, well with everyone else, so what's the point?

"Go ahead, be a coward!" She hissed, "Like your father."

I stopped and formed a fist. Normally, I could handle these situations better with a cool head, but this one time just pissed me off for some reason. Before I could face her, Jessica comes near me and puts her arm around my shoulder calming me down, "Let's go inside."

And we do, after Piera shouts, "Pimp!"

Because Jessica was beside me, I managed to continue walking as we enter inside. We both part ways as I go to my locker.

My locker is the official free trash bin for the convenience of the school. I used to be so annoyed because it gets worse and worse throughout the years because of the dent increase and the bizarre things people stick at the front which I don't even want to know. I only open this like, once a month.

The more I stare at it right now, the more I roll my eyes to my past self for caring too much about this. Though, the damage has been lessening by now, gratefully.

But the moment I open my locker, I realize that it's still the same as every year: papers, tissues and other abominable enough things that make me close it immediately.

I sigh. Sorry to my leather jacket stuck to the bottom of my locker. See you never.

When the bell rang, I stand still for a minute for everyone to pass behind me or I'd be pushed around. When almost everyone's left, I start going to my first class then notice Jessica was still in the hallway.

"Hey ba—" I stopped calling out to her when I realized she was talking to someone. And damn, she looks furious. Hold on, is that Piera? Heh. Scolding her as she should. Guess I'll talk to her about it later.

5 more minutes before art class ends then lunch. Finally. Even though I enjoy art, we mostly discuss about boring art lessons this year. Like earlier with Rose, all the professor's words are drowning in my brain and I don't understand a thing. I mostly just doodle random things in my notebook, as always.

A crumpled paper hit my head which tapped my mechanical pencil and almost ruined my drawing. I look to the direction it came from, but everyone was focused, or was acting focused. I grab the paper that landed on my desk and open it. It wrote 'hey rhys ;) wanna hang out at my place later? maybe we can watch a movie together. I'm thinking maybe comedy. something like your entire life.'

I roll my eyes. They really should start getting new jokes. I look at the back and it wrote 'get it? because your life is a fucking joke!'

I crumple the paper again, throwing it on the floor and looking back to the direction. The three guys, who I don't even know the name of it, seems to reveal themselves by laughing at me quietly. I sarcastically smile at them then continue doodling.

While I do, I think about the performance of the taunting this year. I think this might be the greatest record of lowest bullying yet! So far, this is only my second one before lunch. When I notice that, I also notice that the progress of this for the past few months have been smooth and people are just getting bored of me. What a shame. Truly.

"'Kay class!" Mr. Teach snaps me out of my thoughts. Yes, that's his name. "You have one more homework before the school year ends." He announces.

Almost the entire class groaned as he adds, "So, last week, I explained the different types of historical art. For this last assignment, you will be illustrating a place or scenery AND you have to write a relating poem to it." The class groaned and I think one… moaned, while he simply continues, "This is called Narrative Art, remember? An art that has a story to it whether it's realistic or imaginary."

"Hey Hairy-son!" A random guy yells but I don't look at him, "What are you going to draw? A naked guy?" Everyone laughs at that. Ha ha.

That's the third one.

The school bell rings and everyone simultaneously stands as Mr. Teach ended, "Any medium is fine. Deadline on Friday. There will be no pushovers since it's the last day of school. Class dismissed."

After a couple of shoves and bumps, I managed to get to the other building. I go outside to the cafeteria feeling accomplished. High school will finally end after all which is a break for all the tyranny. I don't do anything about it since it's mostly verbal, but it sure does get annoying and triggering sometimes. I'm so hyped to leave this shitty place for good.

The school cafeteria line is longer than any line I know of in the fast food joints in Winterville. Like most schools, the food is trash, anyway, so I don't even bother getting near that area. Don't even know why people are buying stuff here.

I get an orange juice from the soda machine and look around, finding my friends.

Cyrus and Theo are already sat in our table with their heavy lunch. For the first time, they actually already have food on them. Most of the time, I either 'loan' them or ignore their requests, only to have them still steal my food. It's financially okay for me, but it gets annoying. I do try to deal with it though.

They are, after all, the longest and closest friends I've had since I was young.
