3 The Stronghold

As daybreak, we all woken up the shouting of the soldiers as we approached the stronghold or known as White Keep. As we reached the gates were opened giving us passage in, when we entered we saw lots of military personnel running around trying to handle the huge influx of survivors supplies heading in.

As we headed deeper in I saw many buildings with people carrying weapons of all sorts like swords and bows and a common buildings like a appartment and it is also said this stronghold is classified as a D-Class Stronghold which holds at least 100,000 people. After a while the truck stopped as we alighted at our destination.

As i descended off the truck people in black coats with a wolf insignia on their back came to recieve us. They guided to a large mess hall before giving us instructions.

"Please move in a orderly fashion as you get your food before heading to the door over there"

as he pointed to the building nearby.

Everyone followed the instructions except for a few troublemakers which were easily taken care off, after finishing our meals we were told to head into the building next door. I arrived and was guided to a counter where a lady gave me a number and told me to wait for my number to be displayed on the screen before heading the counters inside numbered 1 to 100.

As my numbered was called I headed forward to the counter, the man asked me simple questions about my identity before asking me to head to the hall for briefing.

(This is a question for the future, why do they ask this questions when they have a database with everyone's details in it? :>)

I entered the hall filled with people as I entered with the rest of the people that evacuated from city. The soldiers behind that guarded the door went to close the door. A person wearing military clothing appeared appeared on stage with a mike.

"As you all know the city has fallen due to Monsters, not only just this city had fallen but we have numerous reports all over the world flowing in of the attacks as cities were brought to their knees in front of these monsters. We are not sure what this is about but we know we are going to face a extinction, a extinction of mankind, so we hope for everyone to work with the government. So firstly we discovered this creatures a month ago as a portal opened above a small village in the mountains spewing out the monsters we had the situation under control before multiple portals bigger and stronger appeared among major cities in the world raising them to the ground with few being able to resist. There are 2 types of portals and they are permanent portals and dungeons,permanent portals are rarer but are impossible to destroy as it leads to a new dimension like the one that opened Amethyst City it spawns creatures of hell like demons and we call it Hell World since it leads to a world you must eradicate every creature in there which is impossible, the other portal is dungeons they open and release a certain number of creatures and a leader, the leader's strength determines quality , quantity and type of Monster that comes out. Of course not all hope is lost as we discovered a weapon it allows us to slay monsters that conventional and modern weapons cannot solve and they are called Monster Slayer , they come in all shapes like guns , bracelet , sword, lance and saber, there also magic types which gives access to magic like fire or ice but these and rarer and last but not least the unique ones they have very unique abilities like Necromancy , Dragon magic and Summoning magic. Here is the end of the briefing as we had to cut it short due to new survivors, everyone please take a ring at the entrance provided by us and it will contain more information and please approach our personnel if you need assistance." The man said as he left immediately in a rush.

I went to the staff at door and collected a new ring and activated it in accordance to the staff and before heading off to the houses. I checked my new house number using the Connect Ring which told I live in the north district which in close to wall. (The stronghold is called Winter Keep just in case you missed it format for cities is for this instance D-7388 "Winter Keep")
