11 Hult’s Horse Bargaining Hassle

Zhu Jianyu collapsed to one knee. He panted trying to catch his breath. He devishly smirked. For once he felt accomplished for defeating an enemy. He stood, and slowly made his way to the tree Persephone crashed into. The tree was smashed into smitheerinz, and at the bottom was Persephone. She moaned in pain.

"Uugh.... I have to beat...." she groaned.

Zhu Jianyu noticed she was bleeding quite badly. He figured she wouldn't last long unless she gets help, so he looked through his system to see if he could learn any good skills that could heal her. He looked at his points after the recent fights. His eyes sparkled.

"10,000 points for defeating those weaklings! Easy!" Zhu Jianyu celebrated. He searched for a healing skill and found something that looked perfect.

"Emergency Heal: Transfer some of your health to someone without using MP"

"Perfect! Now how much is this thing... 8,000 points! THATS ALMOST EVERYTHING I HAVE AGAIN!" Zhu Jianyu said.

Zhu Jianyu looked down at Persephone and sighed. He pressed purchase on the skill and activated it. A bright light formed around his hands. He pressed it against Persephone's chest and the glow went from his hands to her body. She blushed for one second before her eyes opened. She jolted up instantly.

"I have to defeat the goblin!" She said as she stood up and dashed to where the goblin once stood. She noticed it collapsed on the ground dead.

"Did... you actually beat him?" Persephone questioned.

He stood up with his hands on his hips confidently saying "Indeed!"

Persephone chuckled. Eventually her chuckles turned into a maniacal laugh. She wiped away her tears and then looked at Zhu Jianyu again.

"Wait, you were serious..." She said disgustingly.

Zhu Jianyu was embarrassed at how little faith she had in him, but realized this was the perfect chance to tell her about his new power as they looked for the horses once again.

Eventually they found the horses deep in the forest. They calmed them and rode them back to the entrance of the forest.

"Ok, time to get to New Gotou to find the rest of the Sect." Zhu Jinayu said to Persephone.

She nodded and they set off for the city. For the first 5 hours they followed the roads. They passed by many small carriages and farms along the way. It didn't take long for them to finally have the city finally in sight. They sped up for the final stretch of road. There was one last building they saw along the road. On the side of the building were many horses running in a fenced off field. That's when Zhu Jianyu thought of a brilliant plan to boost his relationship with Persephone.

"Let's stop there and see if we can sell one of these horses, having extra money on us can't hurt" Zhu Jianyu said with "absolutely no ulterior motives"

Zhu Jianyu figured if they road the same horse, she would have to hold on to him tightly, and she would fall for his awesome horses riding skills that he retained from his life on Earth. He smirked and waited for her response.

"I mean, I guess some money would help us look for them. I guess for once you actually used your brain." She snickered.

Zhu Jianyu and Persephone jumped off their horses at the entrance of the building. They read a sign that read "Hult's Horse House," on the building. They looked at each other one last time and walked in. A young man was at the counter half asleep. His eyes and big black bags under them, and he struggled to keep his head up. He was the only person in there, so they assumed he was Hult. Zhu Jianyu cleared his voice. The second he went to talk, Persephone stopped him.

"This is my field." Persephone said as she stretched out. Her normal cold expression changed instantly. She walked up to the bar with a bright smile on her face.

"Hiya Mister!" Persephone said.

Zhu Jianyu chuckled at this, but didn't think it would be a good idea to interrupt. The young man at the counter immediately awoke.

"H-hey! What can I do for you ma'am!" He said blushing at Persephone.

"I have a horse that I want to sell, but I can't find anywhere that will take him!" She said in a cutesie voice.

"L-l-let's take a look at the horse, and I'll see how much It's worth!" He said marching out the door, walking in a stiff manner.

Persephone pointed at Zhu Jianyu's horse. The young man looked at the horse. His stiff posture now turned to a more natural stance. He examined every inch of it, and patted its head.

"Nice horse you got here! I'd say.... it's worth around... 200 gul." He said confidently.

Persephone scoffed, but a somehow brighter smile swiped across her face.

"But Huuuuuult....I need a bit more than that." She said as her face turned to a disappointed frown.

The young mans face turned bright red. 'Wow, he really fell for something as simple as that-' Zhu Jianyu thought. But the young mans eyes sharpened and he chuckled. He looked down upon Persephone.

"Are you questioning the expertise of Hult of the horse house!" He scoffed. 150 gul or you can keep it!" He said toughly.

Persephone's posture and tone changed. She seemed more annoyed then she normal would be. Even Zhu Jianyu never saw her this annoyed, even at him.

"300-" she went to mutter before being cut off by Hult.

"140 gul, final offer." He said confidently.

While it seemed like he was doing nothing, Zhu Jianyu was actually looking for a skill in his system that he read before. He finally found it before Persephone could take the offer.

"Ability: Advanced Bargaining - helps you bargain with merchants and other people.

It was only 1,000 points, so he immediately purchased the skill and enabled it.

"Fine-" Persephone was saying before Zhu Jianyu cut in.

"Only 140 gul? That's strange I saw someone buying horses down the road for 900 gul yesterday!" He said in a knowledgeable tone.

"Wait- fine 300 gul-" Hult was saying, trying to save the deal.

Persephone smiled, "You know what Mister, I think I will sell it to that guy that was buying them for 900 gul! Take me to him!" She said as she grabbed Zhu Jianyu's hand. They went to the horse and began to ride off until Hult gave in.

"Fine! 950 gul! You can have it" Hult said in defeat.

Persephone giggled, and they turned around back to Hult. They got off and gave it to him. Hult passed them a bag of gul. They headed out the shop, and got on the horse they had left.

"Good thinking, we totally robbed that poor guy of triple what I was going for!" Persephone said, with what seemed like a genuine smile on her face.

Zhu Jianyu realized that this was his chance to ride the horse with her. "Thanks... but now that we only have one horse, I guess we will have to share..." he said. Persephone immediately jumped on the horse first.

'Wait... she was the one that was supposed to lean on me while we rode to the city...' Zhu Jianyu thought.
