12 Finally, New Gotou!

The horse treaded down the road. It didn't take long for the two of them to make it to the city gate. A huge line of people trying to get in the city awaited them. Guards observed from what seemed to be every corner of the entrance, and let some travelers in after an exchange.

"This line has to have like one thousand people in it! Surely there is a faster way to get in!" Zhu Jianyu whispered to Persephone. She sighed and looked around. There was guards on top of the gate, around the gate, leaving no opening for unwanted guests.

They patiently waited thirty minutes to enter the city. Zhu Jianyu looked at the front of the line once again and realized.... only one whole person had entered since he last checked.

"Persephone, you wait here, I'm going to see if theres a faster entrance anywhere else." Zhu Jianyu said as he left her to wait in line for him. The last thing he heard from her was a deep sigh.

He wandered around the sides of the walls. Judging by the size of the walls of this city... the inside must be huge! He admired the grand wall, but then he saw a lizard like creature leaning on a part of it up ahead. At first he thought it was some run of the mill lizard, but as he got closer he realized it was a lizardman!

"Yo! I didn't know there was lizardmen on this world!" Zhu Jianyu said excitingly.

The lizardman looked up at Zhu Jianyu in shock at first, but after he realized what he had said, looked at him in disgust.

"You blow in from stupid town? Keep walking." The lizardman said toughly.

Zhu Jianyu noticed cracks on the wall behind the lizardman. It took a second for him to realize what the lizardman was doing.

"There's totally a crack in the wall, does it lead to the inside of the city?" He questioned the scaley boi.

The lizardman looked around. There was no one else around, so Zhu Jianyu figured he had a chance of being let in. Instead his throat was met with a very, very sharp dagger.

"Come on man, have you seen that line? It literally took thirty minutes for one person to make it past the guards. I need to find someone important!" Zhu Jianyu pleaded.

"For a price... I could let you in..." The lizardman said smoothly.

"Um I have 200 gul...I had to sell my horse just to get that much! So I can give you 100 gul to get in right!" He lied through his teeth. Well, in this case Persephone had all the rest of the money, so he wasn't being dishonest.

The lizardman chuckled and lowered his dagger, "Ha! Hult scammed you too? Anyways, 200 gul and you got a deal."

Zhu Jianyu sighed and handed him the money. The lizardman chuckled again, taking all of Hus money. He stepped away from the crack. On the other side was a very similar face to the lizardman that stepped out of the way.

"I'll be heading in for a bit, so take my position G'ael." The lizardman said as he headed in, signaling for Zhu Jianyu to follow. He cautiously stepped into the hole in the wall, and walked behind the lizardman. The light from the entrance was blocked by the other lizardman, who now guarded the hole in the wall in the others place.

They walked for a brief distance, until they finally reached the other side of the tunnel. On the other side was a ladder leading up to a door in the ceiling. The lizardman made his way up the ladder and opened up the trapdoor. He hopped into where ever it led. Zhu Jianyu followed him up and found himself in a tavern full of different species. Lizardmen, orcs, pigmen, and many others.

As he passed through the bar, most of the people greeted the lizardman. Even when some of them were in the middle of a conversation, stopped and greeted him. The Lizardman brought him to the entrance of the tavern and introduced himself, "I am Ken'da, I'm quite a big deal around here as you can see." As he reached his hand out for Zhu Jianyu.

"I'm Shiro, nice to meet you!" Zhu Jianyu said to the lizard man

The slums are pretty dangerous, especially for someone like you." Ken'da said, scanning Zhu Jianyu up and down. He continued leading him around. They exited the tavern and he read the huge sign, that read, "G'ael and Ken'das Dirty Drinks".

"I've been running it with my brother for years, almost as long as this city has been built." Ken'da explained with a warm smile on his face. Or more of a cold smile, since he is cold-blooded after all.

He lead him through a tight alleyway, and Zhu Jianyu could almost see the beautiful city on the other end. A rustle from behind him took him out of the fantasy. He turned around and saw someone with a knife hiding behind some trash they passed. Before he was able to bring this to the attention of Zen'da, he ran into him.

"Hey watch where your-" Zhu Jianyu was starting to say before seeing a line of three thieves in front of Ken'da.

Zhu Jianyu was ready to go all out to defeat all the thieves. Before he could do anything, Ken'da pulled out a small dagger and prepared to attack. In what seemed like half a second, Ken'da slashed all three of the thieves. Zhu Jianyu watched all three thieves get defeated instantly. Ken'da put his dagger away and pointed back towards the city. He was amazed how quickly they got clapped, he definitely didn't want to get on the bad side of Ken'da.

He walked out into the light and saw the beautiful city. There had to be thousands of people walking around. He saw mostly humans and elves, but he occasionally saw some other races like dwarves and even a few wolf men, but they mainly were doing manual labor.

Ken'da looked at Zhu Jianyu, "If you need any information, I recommend that you check out the adventurers center, they get all the news that comes in or out of the city.

"Thanks, I'll repay you someday Ken'da," he replied, as he began walking in a random direction,

Ken'da called his name, and then pointed towards the opposite direction, towards a huge building that read "Adventurers Guild."

Zhu Jianyu turned around and made his way towards the building. He saw a sign near the entrance that had many job postings for adventurers. They had things ranging from simple item retrieval quests all the way to more difficult things such as taking out a bandit camp. He saw adventurers names signed on some of the postings, which he assumed meant they had taken it on.

A short haired woman walked up to one of the postings they had asked for an Ent that had been reeking havoc in a nearby town, and crossed out the adventurers names that were signed.

"Excuse me, what does the crossed out names mean?" Zhu Jianyu asked politely.

The woman looked up at him for a second and answered "Dead."

'Damn. They're dead.' He thought.

He looked all throughout the listings, hoping he'd recognize at least one name from the Survival Sect. He spent a solid 10 minutes searching before giving up. He made his way into the building and managed to make his way to the front desk.

"Has anyone named-" he started saying before someone busted into the Adventurers Guild screaming.

"There has been an attack on the main gate by a strange creature!"

All the adventurers got up with weapons in hand a ran to towards the main gate.

Zhu Jianyu figured that he might as well see what was attacking just in case one of the sect members was there.

He saw a spare sword that was on a rock in the middle of town, so he decided to grab it just in case he got attacked. It was a little stuck in the rock, but he eventually pulled it out. He ran to the front of the town and saw a strange shadowy figure. It was tall like the goblin he fought before... in fact it was totally the goblin he fought before! It still had a huge hole on its body. But something was different.... His aura, the glow around him, radiated dark energy. Its black and purplish glow pushed back the grass around him.

The other adventures didn't seem to be bothered by it, so Zhu Jianyu wasn't worried. They charged with all their might towards it. But it's reaction speed and attacks were fiercer. Its claws were sharper than before. It ripped through the air and a huge slash of dark energy bursted towards the adventurers. But they didn't seem to react to the huge slash coming towards them.

"There's a huge attack coming towards you! Watch out!" He yelled to the adventurers moments before they were blasted away from the attack. Everyone looked around confused. None of them seemed to have seen the attack.

Suddenly, a huge bolt of magic beamed down and struck the goblin, pushing it backwards away from the city gate. Zhu Jianyu looked up and saw Persephone was using magic to keep the huge goblin from tearing the city down, and figured this would be the best time to strike it.

He launched himself into the sky by shooting air magic downwards and had a good view of the goblin over all the adventurers. He used fire magic in his right hand to propel him towards the goblin at high speeds. In the left he pointed his sword straight towards the goblin.

'I'll finish this in one swift strike' he thought.

As he glided through the sky his sword glew brightly. Light shone off of its surface as he finally landed the strike.
