1 Chapter 01 Beginning
Early in the morning, the boy with yellow hair and yellow eyes woke up with the sunray on his face, he slowly opens his eyes and blinded by the sunray that comes from the hole in the ceiling he blocks it using his right hand.
"it's morning already? I don't want to get up yet"
While he is still sleepy the boy suddenly opens his eyes again, he remembers something and immediately rises from the tattered bed that he is sleeping at and run outside
"Oh, no I need to get to the boss or he will be angry again, I don't want to get hit"
the boy runs as fast as he can across the road, his shirt is full of holes and with barefoot, with the first glance you will quickly notice wounds and scars on the feet of the boy.
"WHY ARE YOU SO LATE!!!!"
the big guy with a bald head and a big scar on the left side of his face shouted at the boy with anger, the boy immediately answers while cowering in fear his eyes are a bit teary.
"I-I-am sorry boss I just woke up because I sleep late yesterday, because of the wo..."
The boy didn't even finish his sentence and the boss yell at him even louder.
"WHAT, ARE YOU COMPLAINING!!!?"
"I-I-am sorry boss"
" YOU UNGRATEFUL BASTARD!!!"
The boss slap the face of the boy and fell on the ground, the boss didn't stop there, he stomps on the boy
STUD STUD STUD
The friend of the boy saw the boss and what he's doing to the boy, the friend of the boy immediately block the stomping foot of the boss with her body and plead to the boss
"Please boss forgive him I'm going to work double in exchange for his mistake"
The girl knows what to say and how to calm the boss, the boss stops with his action because of what the girl says.
"Hmm, Ok you better work double if not you know what will happen to you and that bastard"
The girl immediately answer the boss
"Yes, boss!"
the girl looks at the boy who's in pain and have tears in his eyes she call his name and talk to the boy with a calming tone
"Layon, are you ok?"
Layon could not answer because of the pain and the shame he's feeling right now, that because of him his friend got hurt, but the girl shouted at him
"LAYON BOYS SHOULD NOT CRY WITH JUST THAT!!, you should only shed tears with happiness do you understand?"
Layon stop crying and bubble he's up and down, and ask the girl
"Are you ok Rose?
"of course things like that is nothing to me"
Rose is a very strong and bright girl, Layon really idolize her not just because of that, she also kind enough to befriend someone like him, while Layon is admiring her he didn't realize that a smile is showing on his face while staring at Rose face
"what are you smiling about?"
"I'm just thankful your here"
Rose turns around with a blushing face and stand up
"We should get to work or the boss going to be angry again"
Layon nod and stand up

While Rose and Layon on the way to the mine to work, Layon stop and stare from the small town from afar then he see a big house, that big house is a Familia Head Quarter, Familia is an organization who fights the monster, raid dungeons and protect people from the monster, there are many different kinds of Familia, and Layon dream is to join a Familia but he knows it's impossible because of how weak he is, Rose notice that Layon is staring at the Familia's Head Quarter, Rose to ask Layon
"Why are you staring at Chameleon Familia's Head Quarter?"
"Chameleon Familia?"
"Yes that's the name of their Familia"
"I see"
Layon smile and ask Rose with a serious face, even with the timid personality Rose to see the determination of Layon trough his eyes
"Rose, you think I can become a member of a Familia someday?"
"of course you just need to believe yourself and don't lose that determination and you will definitely gonna do it"
but Layon immediately lose he's determination because he knows how weak he is not just physically also mentally, Layon reply to Rose with a timid laugh and answer
"haha, I think that's impossible"
Rose got angry
"you idiot!!!"
Rose walk towards the mine and left Layon, and Layon immediately follow her with a worried face

In the mine, many children are working diligently for the wage of a small amount, almost like they're working for free.
The sound of a pickaxe hitting a wall echoed in mine
CLANK CLANK CLANK
the children work even they're tired, because of very hard labor some children collapse because of tiring job, but the guard of the mine spill water on they're face to wake them up and shout at them
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!!?"
the child who just woke up plead for forgiveness and ask the guard for permission to rest
"I-I-am so sorry, but can we rest just a little?"
"NO, GET BACK TO WORK!!"
the children get up but fall again because of the lack of energy, and the guard becomes furious and hit the children with his wooden stick
THUD
"I SAID GO TO WORK USELESS BASTARD!!"
Rose see what's happening, she stands up to stop the guard, but Layon hold and look at her with a worried face as if he's telling her to don't do it, but Rose reassure him
"don't worry who do you think I am?"
Rose remove Layon hand while smiling, Rose run to the guard whos beating the children and plead for forgiveness and tell the guard what she told to the boss
"Please forgive them I work double for them, so please forgive them just this once"
The Guard stares at her from head to toe, the guard smile with an evil look, and that makes Rose shudder.
Rose is a beautiful girl but its hard to notice because of her long red hair that always blocks her face, and she already knows what the guard is thinking buy just looking at his face, the guard holds the arm of Rose and pulls her, Rose try to resist but the guard is too strong for her.
"Ok I forgive them but come this way"
"NO!!!"
Layon saw that Rose is being pulled by the guard and resisting with all her might, Layon doesn't know what to do, but when he saw Rose's eyes with tears, He gathers his courage and resolves his will thinking that.
"I protect Rose even if I sacrifice myself"
Layon run towards the guard with he's pickaxe and scream
AHHHHHHH
he swings he's pickaxe at the guard, He hit the guard on the head
PLUCK
because of how weak Layon the guard still has he's consciousness, the furious guard that fell on the ground stand up, the guard going to beat Layon to death, and Rose shout to Layon
"Layon stand up and run!!!"
But Layon who's after hitting the guard just sitting on the ground because of all his strength leaving him, while shaking in fear Layon just close his eyes accepting the ends, and the guard shouted
"IM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!"
Layon waiting for the guard to hit him while his eyes are shut, but nothing happen he open he's eyes slowly and saw the guard laying on the ground, a boy with a serious face and holding a pickaxe is standing near the guard, the boy is a brother of one of the children who's being hit by the guard a little while ago.
the boy with a serious face offers his hand to Layon so he can help him stand up, and after that, the boy went to Rose to show his gratitude for saving his little sister, the boy introduces himself to Rose.
"my name is Yuki, thanks for standing up for my sister her name is Shiro"
"I'm Rose thank you too for saving Layon"
after the introduction Rose and Yuki talk about what should they do next because they know what going to happen to them if the guard wakes up or the other guards come here to check, after talking for a while they decided to escape this forsaken land.
