The Calling

Iselin Sorlie never had a childhood. All she knew until the tender age of seven were the walls surrounding her--and which parts of her to protect during the punishment for attempted escape. Now that she is freed from her cage, she is doing her best to protect and raise her younger siblings. Through the trials of helping run her aunt's indebted tavern and dealing with customers as a barely matured girl, Iselin has learned many of the darker tricks and shortcuts in life that she would prefer to keep from her siblings. When trouble knocks down the door into her family's life, Iselin is forced to find strength from within herself as she tries to adapt to the changing world around her.
