Yet, that single word was akin to a hammer breaking the dark chains that were hindering her from being free from her past, and overwhelmed by this feeling of sudden freedom, she could not hold back from leaping to Shu Himo, and started crying on his chest, as if she were again a little girl.

When Shu Himo then heard her voice starting to cry once anew, this time from relief rather than sadness and grief, he couldn't help but slowly pat her back as she cried like the little child she had been.

A couple of minutes later, she finally fell asleep still with tears in her eyes.

Seeing that she had fallen asleep while crying on his chest, Shu Himo smiled sweetly, stroking her head gently, being careful not to wake her up.

Afterward, his eyes became cold, with a glint of boundless rage within, 'Considering her usual strong personality… to make her behave like this… I can't imagine the pain she went through…'
