Chen Lei and Chun Yao

Gun Tei arrived at the hospital, at the same time that Lei Hua was feeding her son with her breast, Chen Lei and Chun Yao, that's how she named them. These are the names of her eldest son and daughter, they signify the love that she has for her children in the past life.

"Gun Tei" she calmly greeted her as she put her sleeping son down. She picked Chun Yao up and let her daughter latch at her nipples without even caring that her mounds are expose to her husband.

"This is Chen Lei and Chun Yao" she introduced as she gave Chun Yao to Gun Tei

"Make her burp" she ordered, Gun Tei stared at the small bundle in front of him and his heart began to beat fast. He saw drops of water falling in the cloth that is bundled around Chun Yao realizing that his tears are already falling, he hurriedly wiped it and stared at Lei Hua waiting for instructions.

Those drop of tears never escaped Lei Hua's eyes. If there is a difference between the emperor and this man, it's the emotions he felt when he first held his child. Wu Lian never held any of her children like that, he never showed any love towards them.

"You put her chest on your shoulder and massaged her back" she softly instructed which Gun Tei followed.

He heard a soft burp so he carefully put down Chun Yao on the baby cot.

"It must've been hard for you" Gun Tei said warmth seeping through his voice

"It was not painful, I was only expecting Chen Lei. Chun Yao is a surprise" she replied with the same warmth.

For the past years that he had known Lei Hua, this is the first time that he saw joy in her eyes.

"Thank you" he sincerely said as his eyes landed on the twins sleeping.

"Just be a father to them, my sins are my sins they are innocent" Lei Hua tiredly said which made Gun Tei froze.

"They are innocent" he repeated as he watched his wife and her children sleeping soundly.

For the first time Gun Tei was able to close his eyes and sleep peacefully.

This is what had always been yearning for.
