10 tenth piece of the broken cage: more than a shattered memory

if Diana could describe how she felt in words she had to pull a whole dictionary in her lab and spend hours trying to find the right word.

Sandy was packing her bag and giving her happiest smile to the devil himself.

she always wondered if she was a boy would her brother and herself get along as well as they did? , William was like an angel compared to Jay who was like a wicked creature that has been dropped to earth.

" ....and then Diana pulled Tia away from the door, it was just the funniest scene EVER ! "

Jay only smirked as he bent down to pick up the red Disney princess shirt that Sandy loved so much; fold it and placed it in his sister's bag.

Diana wanted to bash his face in . she could still feel the anger that he had so gladly left on her nerves.

Jay thought, he had all his attention fixed on his little sister as she nagged him about how she wanted to go to the rollercoaster and how annoying William would be.

" But we can't, not tell Will, you know how he'll get then. "

Sandy pouted, Diana felt like she wasn't supposed to be there. they were a family and she was an outsider. ....like always.

" I mean we can tell him later .... go there first and then tell him, how's that sound? "

" AMAZING ! "

Sandy was giving the biggest smile, Diana had seen on her face, her cheeks were red, her blue eyes looked like they had stars in them, all of her teeth were visible.

Sandy took her bag on her small shoulders and dashed out of her room.

Jay looked over at her . she glared right back at his face. Diana tried to forget how dangerous his eyes were. or how fast he was.

his eyes were too blue. no one should have that kind of eyes, it should be illegal.

" ladies first they said, or do you want to stay in here forever ? "

he was gesturing to the door. she stared at him without saying anything. crossed her arms in front of her chest and glared even harder than before.

either he had glared his whole life so that they didn't affect him anymore, or she was weak at looking displeased.

" o___kay...then I'll go first. "

" you honestly don't care about the shit you do, do you ?! "

" you grabbed my arm. "

" And you pushed in into a wall! "

" did you want me to punch you? "

he was playing around, obviously,, it wasn't his first time picking a fight with a girl and also not his first time shutting a girl up because Diana didn't have anything to say back.

" you didn't seem to not enjoy it too actually. "

she wasn't looking at him but Diana could hear the smirk in his voice.

" I did NOT ! "

" keep saying that maybe you'll end up believing yourself. "

with that, he left a very irritated Diana alone in the room.

" I'm glad we could work this out, Clark. "

Tia was observing the men in the large room.

Clark had somehow gained the strength to keep himself under control ... William was always IN control.

the meeting had gone well so far and both men were rasing from their seats.

Tia wanted nothing but to ask William if he and his other siblings were going to stay in NC.

Clark bested her to it.

" Are you gonna stay here? "

William was turning the knob down when Clark said that.

he turned, his pensive blue eyes were filled with even more secrets than how she remembered them to be. the mixed darkness and the blue of the deepest ocean was his power. mind control his strong point.

" Why are you so concerned about whether we stay or go? "

the tone of his voice, low and calm as always. she wanted to laugh, there used to be sometime when they all predicted that if William became a father, he had to sing them lullabies.

now ?...

she wished by the deepest of her heart that he never become a father ...

the Lewis siblings all had such gorgeous eyes.

Williams was calm and narrative. they always had something to say but seemed to hold back at the last second. the blue of his eyes was always sleepy. but they held back a storm. the ocean was calm alas, it didn't mean there weren't any dangerous waves.

Jody was the night sky . the girl everyone fell in love with . she had a brighter smile than even Sandy. she, unlike her other three siblings, was black as a raven feather. as she grew older, stars slowly started to fade away from those night skies. those black pools became abyssal. her secrets became deeper and the girl they all knew became a stranger.

Sandy never changed, her happiest moments were hidden, but the soft blue rivers of her beautiful eyes never went away. they stayed with her even when she was crying ... because her siblings were always there to save her .... she had hope in her life.

Jay was always the outcast. he was not from Their mother. Their father once had an affair with a woman who was Jay's real mother. she kept him in hopes that Augustus would accept her but it was to a hapless ending. Augustus was in love with his wife and a drunken mistake wouldn't change that. Jay was born and abounded. his eyes were never calm and it was as if storms calmed him. unlike Jody who was always afraid of lightning, he enjoyed it. he even went up to the roofs to feel the rain hitting his bruised skin. Jay always had bruises to cover his pale skin. whether it was from the street fights he seemed to love, or .... well.

Clark shook his head and looked away. nothing to answer it seemed.

" WILL! CAN I COME IN ?! "

Sandy's voice was heard by the people in the room that cringed at her high-pitched noise.

William opened the door and his sister barged inside.

Sandy ran to Tia and hugged her in the middle of her waist.

"thank you, Tia ...for everything. "

Tia placed her hands above the tiny girl's head and gave few strokes and she dashed to the other side of the room to jump to Clark's chest.

" I'll come to see you okay? "

Clark squishes the file to his chest as she giggled her way out of his embrace.

Sandy ran towards her older brother and grabbed his bony hand.

Tia suddenly hit her memories as she remembered the exact scene from years ago.

William with torn cloths, hugging baby Sandy to his small chest, jody shaking like a leaf as she grabbed only what was left of his torn t-shirt and Jay barely alive, his head on Williams lab.

as she came back to herself ....they were long gone.

just like their dreams of a better future.

when the night is falling and you have lost your way ... when the rain is storming and your world's turn to grey, when the wolves waited outside and you feel like you've nowhere to hide.

don't you worry just remember ... remember when I said.

Darling close your weary eyes, everything will be fine, let the breeze wipe away your tears there's no need to cry. you can lay down no one will hurt you, let your fears be carried by the streams, the twilight gleam watches over you, let this lullaby guide your dreams, and when the morning raises, I shall be by your side...
