9 Chapter 9

(Anna's Point Of View)

Anna was speed walking to the Wellstone Intermediate school. She was late picking up Rura cause she accidentally got lost in her homework. She felt awful as she imagined the cute little wolf-eared girl waiting alone in front of the school. That image just made her walk faster until she eventually found herself running towards the school.

Anna neared the school after a short run and eventually spotted the cute little Rura happily talking with another little girl. She smiled at that view and slowed down a bit, noticing that Rura had someone to keep her company.

Though right as she stopped her running, a black car stopped next to the merry little girls. Then a man with an afro quickly grabbed the girls, dragging them into the backseat, immediately driving away.

Anna screamed "RURA!" as she picked up her pace and ran after the now speeding car. Its license plate was blacked out, so she couldn't report it to the police. Because of this, Anna sprinted towards the street and stopped the nearest taxi. The driver was horrified. He almost ran over a young woman.

Anna opened the door and practically lept in after slamming the door and hysterically yelled to the driver to follow the black car. The driver gulped nervously as he stepped on the gas and shot of towards the black car.

Anna quickly dialed Jonathan's number. "JONATHAN, RURA WAS KIDNAPPED!" She practically yelled at the phone. Jonathan had to distance the phone from his ear.

"Calm down, Anna! Did you call the police?!" Jonathan became extremely nervous. He jumped over his desk and sprinted out the classroom door. He could care less about one day of history.

Anna studdered for a while before she pieced together her thoughts, "I'm following the car now! I jumped in front of a cab!" A sigh could be heard from Jonathan's side of the phone. He continued to run towards the college parking lot.

"Send me your location. I'll head over right now!" Jonathan quickly said as he unlocked a light green Prius and sped down the road.

Anna sent over her location continuously, and Jonathan sped through the streets of New York in his light green Prius. It swerved in and out between buses and cabs, dodging people and running lights.

Anna's taxi slowly lost the black car during the chase. The taxi couldn't keep up with the car's speed in the dense streets of New York.

Anna hysterically yelled at the driver to drive faster, but he had his hands tied. There were too many cars.

Anna's taxi finally arrived at the docks of New York. She practically shot out of the taxi without paying. Anna found herself on a hill staring down at tens of warehouses. Workers and men walked around the warehouses as they continued with their jobs.

Anna stared at that scene, looking for the black car that kidnapped her little Rura. She was already extremely attached to the little girl. Every time she smiled, Anna couldn't help but smile too. She was practically the sun in Anna's boring life as a student. She would hate herself for the rest of her life if something happened to Rura.

Anna barely caught a glimpse of a car similar in color drive into a nearby warehouse. An armed man stood guard as the car slowly made its way into the warehouse. Anna's eyes widened as she discovered where Rura was taken.

She was about to throw caution into the wind and barge into the warehouse. But luckily, a familiar light green Prius soared over a nearby hill completing a clean drift. Jonathan hurried out of the car and held her back. "I know what you are thinking, and it's a horrible idea." Jonathan restrained Anna.

Anna looked at Jonathan with teary eyes after she felt him holding her back. She knew it was a horrible idea, but she still wanted to do it.

Jonathan shook his head and closed his eyes, trying to think of what he could do. He understood what Anna wanted to do, but he couldn't let her risk her life to save Rura. "Have you called the cops?" Jonathan asked as he reopened his eyes. He stared at Anna's watery eyes and gave a weak smile.

Anna shook her head. "I tried, but after I told them the location, they hung up on me..." A tear fell from the corner of her eye as she looked back at the warehouse. "We need to do something!" Anna said as she reaffirmed her position. She had to do something!

Jonathan continued to smile weakly at Anna's determination, "I guess we are doing something then..." He finally said as he released a tired sigh. They both looked toward the warehouse where the car last drove in from.

Then something odd happened. The ground shook, the wind picked up, and the water calmed down. Time seemed to stop as the duo stared at the warehouse as a stronger earthquake shook the city.

A few warehouses slightly shook, a faraway one partially collapsed under the intensive shaking. Anna and Jonathan hurried toward the light green Prius to wait for the natural disaster to stop. The Prius slightly shook as the wind pushed the little car.

Jonathan hurried and turned on the car. The natural disaster soon stopped, and they started driving towards the entry gates for the ocean-side warehouses. "How are we going to get in?" Jonathan asked as cold sweat dripped down from his forehead.

Anna stared out the window for a few seconds, then slightly smiled to herself. "Don't worry. I have an idea."

Jonathan mumbled to himself as he drove the light green Prius. "Oh God, please help us."

The light green Prius slowly made its way towards the gateway for the warehouses. They slowly stopped in front of an electric gate guarded by a large fat man, eating from a bottle of peanut butter. "Code." He lazily mumbled at the duo who were sitting in the car.

Anna scoffed at the man. "Is that how you talk to your superior?" She asked in a businesswoman's voice. She added a tinge of sass in her words to make it seem more believable.

Those words startled the fat man. He dropped his peanut butter and sat up straight. "No, ma'am!" He saluted Anna as he gulped down a large chunk of his saliva and opened the door. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience!" He slightly yelled. A voice crack resounded in the area, and a drop of sweat formed on his forehead.

Anna kept her straight face as she examined the fat man. Inwardly she was freaking out. She tried not to show it, but her legs were shaking, and her hands were covered in sweat. "At ease!" Anna continued, "I'm docking a week of your pay. Learn from your mistakes." She said as she went for the finishing move.

The fat man bowed his head in a 90-degree fashion. "Yes, ma'am!" he shakily said.

Anna nodded as Jonathan drove forward. Both of them were practically covered in sweat, Jonathan couldn't believe how lucky they were to get this far, and Anna was hysterically cursing herself in her mind as she continued to think of ways to save Rura.

They slowly drove through the dirt roads of the dock and passed by scarred muscular men. The Prius was a complete outlier in the dirty and hard environment.

They eventually stopped in front of the warehouse where Rura's car drove into. Both of them stared at the metal walls in contemplation as they thought of what to do. Anna was more straightforward as she eventually made up her mind!

"RAM THE WALL!" She practically screamed. Jonathan fumbled to covered her mouth and hold her back as she tried to get out of the car while holding a can of pepper spray she grabbed from her purse.

Jonathan almost lost it as he yelled, "Are you kidding me! Have some common sense!" He turned Anna's head towards his and made her stare into his eyes. "We have to think of a safe way to save her!" He said as he slowly released the less hysterically active girl. Anna slowly calmed down as she looked toward the large metal wall that was separating her from Rura.

"What are w-"

"BOOOOOOM" The warehouse's walls shook, a miniature explosion resounded within. After a few seconds of silence, another boom resounded, but this time, the warehouse's wall fell.

"BOOOOOOM"

"SLAAAAM"

Two little girls could be seen recklessly charging out of the massive hole in the warehouse. A few random men could be seen on the ground as the two little girls made their way towards the light green Prius after seeing Anna launch her body out of the sunroof, frantically waving her hands to signal over the two little girls.

Rura and Jodie ran towards the car and flung open the doors, quickly and recklessly jumping into the back seat.

"GO!" yelled Rura once she strapped herself into the seat belt. Jonathan took that as the signal and the Prius flung forward towards the entrance to the docks.
