11 Chapter 11

"HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP...." Jonathan was having a heart attack as he drove the light green Prius through the open gate. The guard was still bowing in front of him staring at the floor.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA" Anna was practically screaming, "We actually did it!" She continued to yell, turning back to look at the two little girls. Both of them had dried tears on their little cheeks, as they struggled to stay awake. Both of them looked extremely tired, their heads supported each other as they slowly closed their eyes.

Anna slightly smiled at that sight, she couldn't believe what those little girls just went through. She just wanted to get somewhere safe and away from those horrible people.

The Prius zoomed down the road. Jonathan and Anna stayed quiet but continued to keep a lookout just in case someone was following them. Eventually, they arrived at Anna's apartment. Jonathan and Anna slowly picked up the now sleeping girls and carried them into the living room, placing them together on Rura's futon.

Anna stayed next to the two sleeping girls as she checked them for injuries. Both of them were wet both from tears and water but nothing else was wrong with them. They seemed perfectly fine.

Anna released a sigh and sat on the floor, supporting her body with both her hands as she leaned back. "What just happened?" Anna asked the sprawled out Jonathan laying on a nearby couch.

Jonathan opened his eyes and stared at the little girl's "I have no clue." He rubbed his head as he continued, "Why the heck did the warehouse blow up?"

Anna's brows raised at this question. She hadn't really questioned any of the absurd scenarios that had happened today, she was just asking a rhetorical question.

"The earthquake and winds were weirdly coincidental too," Anna mumbled to herself.

Jonathan just nodded his head up and down as he continued to think. "What do you plan on doing now?" Jonathan asked. It probably wouldn't be the best idea to stay in New York right now since that gang of people would be looking for Rura and her little friend.

Anna looked towards Jonathan at that question, she didn't really know what to do either... "I could go visit my parents in Michigan," Anna suggested.

Jonathan continued to nod "That's probably for the best." He concluded after a few seconds of thinking. "What about the other little girl?" He continued to ask.

Anna slightly shook her head, "The best we can do is give her back to her parents and inform them about what happened."

After that, there was a long silence that reigned over the group of 4. They all were exhausted, Jonathan sped through the streets of New York, Anna was mentally exhausted after all her stunts she pulled today and the two little girls are self-explanatory.

No noise resounded through that apartment until the sun shone through the large window in the living room, illuminating all the sleeping bodies.

"Yawnnnnn" Anna was the first to wake up. She stood up and stretched her back, sleeping on the floor wasn't that comfortable. She looked towards the two sleeping little girls to make sure they were okay before walking over towards the kitchen.

"Growwwwl" The next to wake up was Rura, or more specifically her stomach. Rura rose from her futon after absentmindedly examining Judie who was sleeping next to her. She looked around at the environment and slightly smiled. A few tears fell from her face after realizing she was safe.

Anna walked into the room after seeing that Rura was awake. She walked up towards the cute wolf-eared girl and picked her up from her bed and gave her a big bear hug. The two both quietly cried for a few minutes before Anna put down Rura.

"Are you okay?" Anna asked after checking Rura's body for the 3rd time. She whipped away a loose tear from Rura's eyes before taking a step back.

Rura nodded her head slightly as she looked at the ground, "I'm sorry..." she whispered.

Anna felt her heartache when she saw Rura apologize to her. A little girl just apologized for getting kidnapped! How does that work??

Anna shook her head as she squatted and looked at Rura, "It's not your fault sweetie." She hugged Rura one more time before letting go and walking back into the kitchen. "How do pancakes sound for breakfast?" Anna asked as she poured the batter into the pan.

Rura nodded her head and gave a weak smile as she got up and sat at the table.

The next to wake up was Jonathan. He opened his eyes slowly, looking around at his surroundings. "That wasn't a dream?" he mumbled to himself as he slowly stood up from his awkward sleeping position and tidied up his clothes.

He looked left and right and eventually saw Rura sitting at the table smiling at him. "Good morning little munchkin," Jonathan said as he walked over and patted Rura's head. He stopped after a few seconds and sat at the table. "How are you feeling?" He asked as he gave a worried look at Anna before looking back at Rura.

Rura responded in a somewhat quiet tone "I'm doing a lot better with you here." she managed to release from her quivering mouth. She was still shaken up from yesterday.

Jonathan released a small smile and moved his chair next to Rura giving her a hug in the process. "I'm sorry you had to go through that."

Rura released the last of her tears in Jonathan's shoulder as she silently waited for breakfast to be ready.

The last to wake up was Judie. She was extremely startled to find herself awake in someone else's home. She immediately stood up and crouched behind the futon, scanning her surroundings. She soon discovered it was safe after seeing Rura and Jonathan sitting at the table and Anna making breakfast.

Anna hurriedly came over and checked to see if Judie was okay before sending her off towards the table where the duo waited for breakfast.

That morning was a quiet morning. They ate breakfast in peace before Anna asked where Judie lived before they all went in Jonathan's car to her residence.

Anna waited with Judie at her door to explain the situation to Judie's parents. Not too surprisingly they were worried sick and horrified. They thanked Anna many times before she left for Jonathan's car.

"Rura, we are going to leave the city for a while," Anna said as they drove down the street back towards Anna's residence. "I'm going to call your school and ask for them to send you their homework." She continued as she turned around at the little wolf-eared girl.

Rura had been a little depressed lately. She felt like it was her fault that she and Judie got kidnapped and was scared that the men will come back for her again.

She looked up towards Anna and gave a weak smile accompanied by a nod. She liked the idea of leaving the city, especially with Anna. She just wanted to go away from the noise of the city. Someplace peaceful.

Jonathan drove Anna and Rura back home to pack their bags. They would be taking a bus up towards Anna's parent's home. Since they have to pack they decided that they would leave tomorrow morning.

Jonathan volunteered to drive them to the bus station in the morning, Anna happily agreed to that accommodation.

They quickly arrived back at Anna and Rura's residence. It was still in the morning but Anna and Jonathan still stayed with Rura, skipping their school classes to hang out with her. Rura skipped school also because they didn't want her to be kidnapped again.

They played a few board games together and Rura quickly got the gist of them. She was abnormally good at most things, and board games aren't hard to pick up on.

After a few hours of games, Jonathan decided to head back to his apartment giving Anna and Rura time to packet their bags to get ready for their trip to Anna's parents. Anna also used this time to inform them ahead of time that she would be visiting just so they didn't stop by at a bad time.

They happily agreed.

The night swiftly came and Rura and Anna almost finished up their packing. Rura fell asleep on her futon before she finished but Anna quietly did so for her. After she folded and placed the last piece of clothing Anna smiled at the little wolf-eared girl sleeping peacefully on the futon.

Anna Furrowed her brows when she saw Rura still had her ears on so she decided to take them off. Well, she at least tried. After a light pull they didn't budge. Anna was dumbfounded, this little girl's wolf-ears seemed stuck to her head...

Anna's eyes grew wide at this discovery. She always thought that her wolf-ears were just a comfort item. Even though she has lived with Rura for a couple of weeks she didn't realize that they were actually real.

Anna facepalmed at this realization. "Of course they are real." She softly mumbled to herself as she shook her head and slightly smiled at Rura. "It's still Rura though."

Anna quietly tucked Rura in and left the living room, silently closing her door before going to sleep for the night. Tomorrow was a big day! They would start their trip to Michigan!
