12 Adeline Is Overreacting

The villagers saw us from afar. Didn't dare to come closer, because don't want to get into trouble with the Viscount. I released Andreas embrace, then spoke to him.

"Viscount, forgive that woman. She is innocent, after all I also heard. Nobles only wear the clothes for a day and then throw them away. So you can throw these clothes, right?" Adeline said that without thinking.

"How dare you?! you disrespectful woman. Are you an adventurer? There is a rule for adventurers who live here. They have to pay rent for 100 silver pieces. It's because you insulted me. I will raise it to 250 silver pieces."

The woman knelt down to us. She thanks to me and don't know what to pay for what I did.

The villagers came to them. They felt guilty for making Adeline pay him that much. Adeline turned it down, she said with a warm smile.

They looked so happy to see Adeline face. Several small children began come to her, play with her. Stunned by her behavior towards the Viscount, has made all villager like her.

Andreas only watched Adeline from a distance who was talking with small children. He kept staring at her, until he didn't realize that she was coming his way.

"I didn't expect you would say that to the Viscount."

"Hm? I think it's normal. I just want to help them, although not much. See you tonight, Jackson." Adeline left him alone and Andreas leaned against the tree thinking about her.

At night, when they are asleep. The villagers come to them. Adeline and Andreas finally woke up. They lead them two to some house. On the bed lay a man in a weak state.

Adeline rushed to help the man. She tied her hair, put her hand on the man hand. She whispered to the man. An aura shot out from Adeline hand.

After she finished treating the man in a few minutes. She almost fell and was caught by Andreas.

"What was that?"

"A divine power."

The man has awake. His body feels better than before. The man wife was happy, again, the village owed Adeline a debt of gratitude.

"Thank you...Thank you so much."

I came back with Andreas who carried me. Andreas lifted me because I could not stand up. I forgot something while treating that man, if I overworked myself using divine power. My body can't hold it.

"Let's go now, Miss Adeline."

"What do you mean?"

Andreas knelt in front of her and said. "We don't have much time. You haven't forgotten what we were here for, right? We shouldn't be here too long. We have to go now."

Andreas said with a pleading face. He put my hand in his cheek. What he said had a point. We can't stay here too long, but I can't leave this village alone.

"Okay, tomorrow we will continue our journey."

Andreas thanks her. She touched his grateful face. The the of them decided to pack their belongings and continue their journey.

Tomorrow morning, Adeline and Andreas were ready to leave. The villagers thanked them for coming. She also gave a number of gold coins to each villager and prayed for the future.

The villagers were also happy. Until the next day, a shocking news came. The Viscount who controlled the area was death. The killer is still unknown. The tax money they gave to him, back in their hands. The village came back to life and all of them thanked to them both. 

"Aren't you overreacting? This is the first time I saw you like that."

Adeline with a happy face. "What? I just scratched his face and then slowly stabbed his stomach."

Yesterday night, before I left. Andreas and I visited the Viscount mansion in secret. He was counting a piece of silver and gold. At that time, I entered the balcony of the his room.

"Who is it? Show yourself."

Viscount was scared and tried runaway to the door. Andreas was at the door to block his way.

"You have violated the rules of territorial authority, hereby I will withdraw your territory."

The viscount felt terrified when see someone who was wearing a robe approached him. She finally opened the hood to reveal her face. The Viscount didn't notice at first, but when he remembered it well. He spoke in a halting voice.

"You...I know you now. You are the daughter of Duke Lawrence, Miss Adeline Von Lawrence? The fiancé of the Crown Prince and future Crown Princess?"

I thought everyone have forgot about that. I thought the nickname had disappeared. It like he didn't know about the news.

"I'm sorry....."

When the Viscount begging for forgiveness. Adeline told him to be quiet. She took out a sword and pointed it at the Viscount

"Forgive me, please forgive me!" 

"You have made those villagers suffer. You nearly killed one of the villagers. Maybe you killed a lot of people there. What should I do for you?" 

The Viscount kept begging to her. In fact, he will give everything to her. She was silent and then made a deal with him.

With her cold gaze, "Give back all the villagers taxes."

He signed a letter of agreement to prove his words. Without further ado, Adeline scratched his face with her sword.

In pain, Adeline took a chair and sat in front of him. He kept begging to spare him. Adeline stared coldly with her evil smile and then slowly stabbed him in the stomach.

"I have accepted your apology and sweet dream, Viscount."

My sword was soiled with blood. I put my sword back in and walked towards the balcony. Andreas continued to be at the door. I called him here immediately before the guard came. He walk toward me and then touched my face.

"Blood stains."

"Ah... thank you."

As soon as we left, the guards were shocked by his death and the letter of agreement. They are forced to do so and then give tax money back to the villagers. Even though the killer is unknown. They officially close the case.

The journey after passing a riverside village. Adeline saw the big city in front of them. One of the second largest cities in the Empire. the city which was named GrandDuke.

"We're here. Are we going to find him?"

With a sweet smile, "Of course, we will find him."

Ryan, I don't know how to deal with you later. Are you going to refuse? Will you accept it?

Adeline sped up her horse with Andreas following her from behind. The wind blew her hood and revealing her beautiful knotted white hair.
