6 chapter 5:time to find a prospective bride

"your majesty." called out brad to pull john out of his stupor.

"Brad, I'm gonna head to the mountains to rid my soul of any desires" john spoke out like a monk-in-training after receiving enlightenment.

"PRINCESS! I hope you will care to explain yourself here, or else our kingdom would be in grave danger." pleaded the king's aide, Astore, who didn't show much interest in the charade from the start.

"It is because…papa is mean to nii-san and Joanne abhor anyone trying to harm nii-san, desu." Joanne said in timidly, while tightening her hold on Alfred, but still with strength to show stance on the matter.

"No, No Joanne, you see I was just kidding, I won't ever let Alfred marry someone against his wish." john tried to placate his daughter.

"Really, then nii-san doesn't have to get married." Joanne asked with gleam in her eyes.

"yes, I swear he won't have to, now will you give papa a hug." John said hoping to earn his daughter's affection.

"no, too much work, Joanne-chan fell cozy near nii-san." Joanne said languidly.

john glared daggers at Alfred.

'oh, come one I'm her brother, not boyfriend for god sake' Alfred complained.

I turned around to find the person who nudged me.

"Aa-kun, Aa-kun mommy's felling lonely here." said Christina with a pout while puffing her cheeks.

I beckoned my mom and made space for her to hug. Christina rushed and clung to him with a leap from the ground.

"I swear, one of these days, you are gonna pay for this." John grumbled with an apparent displeasure.

'I will let it slide this once, more importantly what am I supposed do about the rumor.' Alfred mumbled under his breath.

"Alfred, I did say that you are not required to get married to an orc, but it doesn't mean you are completely out of the hook, if you don't want an orc, how about a human or some other race because you will be an adult in a couple of years." john said dispassionately.

"oh, about that, I will pick a bride in year or two. So until then, I would like to have some leeway. if I fail to do so, I would accept your majesty's decision." I requested.

"is that so, well I hope you can." John flashed a smirk in response.

"I will take my leave now." I said with my back towards my father before heading out of the room
