13 Chapter 13: Extra date with Filth

The two of them decided to go to the cafe area and get some drinks after a while.

Annie looked through the menu and asked "Anything you want?" Mike thought a bit and added "Do they have the McDonald's Coca-Cola here? I really liked that drink. We can order it and then go for another round of playing. This time I won't lose!"

Annie chuckled and said "I don't know about MCDONALD'S Coca-Cola, but they most definitely have a Coca-Cola here."

Mike suddenly came to a realization, that McDonald's wasn't a drink company and that Coca-Cola was its own company. He slightly fidgeted and said "I mean, McDonald's one would be preferred, but I guess I can go for a normal Coca-Cola."

Annie bought the two drinks and they sat down to have a drink. Mike quickly drank up and a genuinely happy smile came up on his face. *What exactly is in this drink? It's almost as good as cherries! We most definitely should have at least one Coca-Cola production site on each planet, this is the BEST thing I've drunk in my life!*

Mike suddenly glanced up at the TV, as he saw a very interesting commercial.

"Featuring starlight, homelander and... Oh yeah, Christ!"

Mike glanced at Starlight and raised an eyebrow "What's up with that gathering thing? You some kind of priest?"

Starlight looked slightly awkward "I'm not there to convert the masses or anything! I'm just... My mom used to take me around this Christian place for hero "training", before I became Starlight and I am very popular with the people in Christian communities, so I was included as a bonus to bump up the event numbers. It was my manager Ashley's idea."

Mike tilted his head and said "Huh, mind if I join? I wouldn't mind seeing what the local culture is like. Maybe you lot will even convert me to this Christianity and crusade thing. It sounds like an experience."

Annie chuckled at this comment "Yeah, sure. It starts on the sixth of June and ends on the tenth of June. You can come and meet the people there. The head of that place is also a very kind supe."

Mike nodded his head "I'll be sure to check it out. If I'm here as a tourist, might as well check out the local culture. Hell, might even meet the bug man Homie while there."

Annie stared at the foreigner with some small hesitation and asked "So, I was wondering about something." Mike glanced at her and suddenly remembered what he was here for. "Ask away. You ain't getting me to admit to the 15 tons of ya-yo I smuggled into Tera last week."

Annie chuckled "It's pronounced Yo-yo and don't worry, that's not illegal" *What's yo-yo? I'm talking about an Imperial drug? Do they not have Ya-yo here? Now that's a business opportunity*

The mood suddenly got serious and starlight leaned in closer to Mike and asked "Why do you just disappear after saving someone?"

It was now Mikes turn to be confused. *Am I doing something wrong? I thought superheroes saved people and were meant to help? Did I misunderstand what I read about them on the internet?*

He quickly answered "Isn't that what superheroes are supposed to do? Help people and save even more people? I mean, why would I stay, when I can go find someone else to help?"

Annie's eyes widened and she looked down a bit and said "It's just that, most supes stick around to take pictures after saving someone to get some popularity and clout. You just, disappear after saving someone."

Mike was genuinely baffled at this point "That's just silly. Why would heroes waste time taking pictures? Shouldn't they rush away to go and save even more people? Am I doing something wrong?"

Annie quickly shook her hands and denied "No, no, God no! You're doing things completely right. That's probably why I respect you the most out of all the supes out there. It's just that... nevermind. It's nothing."

Mike reached out and held her hand with a kind expression. "It's okay, you can tell me. I won't judge or belittle. Talk to me. *This is some saucy drama! I'm getting excited just listening to her!*"

Annie took a deep breath and said "I stopped a r*ping incident a while ago and it ended with me almost being fired from the seven. Vought doesn't care about saving people... It doesn't care about true 'heroes'. Vought only wants popular ones."

A small glint passed through Mikes eye and he nodded "Alright. They want a popular supe, I'll give them one. You wouldn't be against recommending me, would you?"

Annie smiled and shook her head "I'd kill to have more heroes like you in the seven."

Mike nodded his head with a smile "*That's the idea!* Thank you, sincerely. Vought may not be what I thought it was, but I can make it better. WE can change the seven and make sure only a true hero is allowed into it!"

Annie looked happy, as Mike stood up and went towards their lane again "Let's go for another round! This time, I won't be holding back!"

The two supes had fun with eachother. They played a couple more rounds, they told eachother funny stories about their childhood and spent the time having fun. An hour and a half passed and Mike got bored of entertaining the lovesick young lady.

With the excuse, that he had to go check on someone in a hospital, he waved her goodbye. "Thank you for the lovely evening, Annie. I hope the expo will be as entertaining as this evening."

Starlight nodded her head and her tongue suddenly got stuck in her throat again, as she looked at the smiling face of the departing Mike.

She could only barely regain her senses after he left and she shook her head *Stupid annie! You couldn't even stutter out a goodbye! Ugh god kill me now!*

Mike rushed out to quickly get back his backpack and start the next phase of his plan *Getting into Vought seems a lot easier than I thought. To think I only need popularity. Oh what chips do I have to play? A speedster on his last leg, who I can humiliate into the ground and my near light speed quickness. Oh how ever will I overcome this giant of a mountain!*

A chuckle escaped Mike's mouth, as he jumped 20 meters into the air, onto a rooftop and continued his way to retrieve his backpack.

Next chapter goes HARD. Get it early by giving me 69 power stoned. A plane crashed in the next scene, if you guys don't remember the original story. That plane was a pretty good cover up for something. 69 stones and cliff-kun dies. Or just review the story.
