15 Chapter 15

"So, a little blush hereee...and a little mascara hereee and we're done". I had just finished Maddy's make up. It was thirty minutes to the football game.

Today was also Jordan's 18th birthday. Maddy and I adopted this style of getting each other ready before a game. We were dressed in our matching cheer uniforms and sneakers and me with my orange pompoms and Maddy with her white ones.

"Awwn, thanks Jo. I look amazing", she said checking herself out in her locker mirror, "so what time is the party?" I smirked at her, "I thought you weren't gonna come. You know, it being Jordan's party and all". We were throwing a party for Jordan at our place after the game. If we win, it'll double as a victory party.

Maddy rolled her eyes. "I know what I said but I will not miss a good party because of Jordan and besides it's his party so chances are, I probably won't see him". I shrugged, "okay. Hey if you're showing up, you might as well help video our performance for our channel".

The guys and I started a YouTube channel. It's a great way to help promote our band and if we're lucky we might become a success story. We post covers of songs and we take requests from our subscribers.

"Uh sure, no problem", she said, "okay girls, listen up. In twenty minutes the game will begin so we better go out there and cheer our guys on". We walked out. On our way, we saw the football team heading out too. I saw Jordan and called out to him. "Hey Jordan". He turned and smiled at me. "Hey Josie"

"Good luck out there", I said. "Thanks". He saw Maddy standing beside me and smirked. I thought I saw her flush a little. "Aren't you gonna wish me luck Bertha? He asked. "Bertha", I thought. She rolled her eyes at him, "good luck. You guys better win or else". Then she dragged me out. I turned back to wave and caught him smiling at her. Okay did I miss something here?

"What just happened?" I asked, "who's Bertha?" "Actually better question is why did he call you Bertha?" "Nevermind that", she evaded. I was gonna push it but then I saw the twins and Michelle in the bleachers. I waved at them. Jake saw me first and waved back. He elbowed Justin to look at me because he and Michelle were busy talking. They both looked my way and waved. Michelle wasn't actually here on a date. On the contrary, she was here to support her school which we were playing against.

We took our formation just as the announcer called the team out. Dorian as the quarterback came out first and winked at me. I turned red at that. Maddy saw and smirked at me. I looked away. Soon the game started and we cheered when necessary. We did our routine during half time and then it was time for the second half.

The game was tense. We were tied up with only one minute left. Luckily the ball was with our team. The team got into position. "Set", Dorian called, "ready... hike". He threw the ball. Jordan was running, he was almost at the end zone. Everybody was silent. He caught the ball. Come on... Almost there... Touchdown!!

The entire field, well almost, erupted in cheers. Even Michelle was cheering and her school lost. "He's done it. He's done it. Jordan West has scored the winning touchdown. Here's your winner folks, the Lakeview high Foxes", the announcer said.

The guys on the team carried Jordan shoulder high. The twins and Michelle got down from the bleachers and ran towards him. So did I. I gave him a hug, nevermind that he was sweaty. The twins got in and it became a group hug. "Dude that was awesome", Jake commended. "You were amazing", I said. "Good game", Michelle smiled. "Thanks", he smiled back.

A bunch of guys were praising Dorian too for his wicked throw. "Ooh, we've gotta go congratulate Dorian", Justin said. They walked away leaving me and Michelle. "You're a great cheerleader", she said. "Thanks", I replied. Maddy showed up then. "Oh hey Michelle", she greeted.

"What's up captain?"Michelle teased. "Oh, stop", Maddy blushed, "anyway I have to take Josie away now, we've gotta go change. Will you be cool alone or would you like to come with us?" "Oh yeah, it's cool. I've actually gotta go find my other friends so we can comfort each other over our loss." "Awwn better luck next time". We waved and walked away. "Hey, we'll still see you at the party right?" I yelled. "Oh sure. Absolutely!" She yelled back. "Cool".

We entered the girls locker room and it was filled with lots of excited girls. Probably excited for the party. The guys and I invited the whole senior year. We changed out of our cheer uniforms and headed to Maddy's car. We had to get there early to finish getting ready.

The party was scheduled to start in an hour. I texted the guys that I had already left. Maddy drove us to the house. We rushed to my room to get dressed. We helped each other do our makeup and we wore our outfits. I wore a floral print pink and white romper. I paired it with black gladiator heeled sandals. I put my hair in a sleek ponytail. The romper was tight enough to bring out my curves.

"Wow, you look hot", Maddy beamed looking pleased. She was dressed in a fitted white off shoulder dress with long sleeves. She paired it with black wedges and had her hair swept to the side.

We both looked cute. "We should totally take selfies", I said taking out my phone. "Totally", she agreed. We took a couple of selfies, some full pictures, mirror selfies, we took a lot of photos.

Maddy checked the time, "it's 6:45. We have fifteen minutes. We should go see if everything's in order". I nodded. We got to the living room, where we'd already pushed out all the chairs to make more room for the dance floor. The chairs were now at the corners of the house. I heard the doorbell ring. I went to go get it.

"Hey. Thought you guys might need a little help setting up", Michelle said looking all dolled up in a pink fitting floral dress with pink heels. This time she swapped her signature red lipstick for pink.

"Wow, someone looks great", Maddy praised. "Oh stop", Michelle blushed waving her off. "Actually, we were just going to check if everything was in order", I said, "to the kitchen". Just then we heard a car park. "Madds could you please check who's there?" I asked. "Sure".

Michelle and I were arranging the drinks when I heard voices. "Looks like the guys are home", I said. She nodded. "Well well well, someone looks pretty", I heard Jordan say. He was probably talking to Maddy and I could literally hear the smirk in his voice. "Gee thanks", Maddy replied. I could imagine her rolling her eyes.

"Yo where's Mitchie, she told me she'd be here", Justin yelled. "In the kitchen babe", she called out. "Hey babe", he greeted with a kiss on the cheek. She smiled at him in greeting. I rolled my eyes. "I'm here too you know". He turned to me. "Oh hey Josie, you look nice". I rolled my eyes again.

He turned to Michelle. "Babe you look amazing". "Awwn thanks Justin", she replied. I refrained from rolling my eyes a third time.
