Chapter 1

James was sitting on his bed reading his all time favorite book, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. He was about to turn the page when he hears a car outside making him look up and look out the window to see a red van pull up to the house besides his and he sees three people get out of the car. The husband and wife and who he's guessing is their son, they unpack their stuff from their car as they talk or at least that's what James thinks their doing but he can't really see them all that well and he didn't want to walk up to the window to see them better in fear they might see him so he just sits back on his bed and continues to read his book. A few hours later there's a knock on his door before his sister walks into the room and jumps onto the bed as she smiles this big and creepy smile. "Guess what big bro? I am the new lead in the musical at our school!!". Katie says happily as she claps her hands and looks into my eyes, i smile wide and hug her tightly. So happy she got this role because she deserves it with all the hard work she's been doing. "That's amazing sis, i can't wait to watch you work your magic in the play. I'm so proud of you and i knew you'd get the part, i mean your just perfect for the role". I say softly and pull back from the hug as i sit back on the bed and hum softly. "I just can't believe i got the part, i mean i worked so hard to get this part and i really didn't think i'd get the part but i'm so so so happy i did". Katie says softly before she lays down and cuddles into me and then she looks up at me with a small smile on her face. "After everything we've been through you are still here and i can't thank you enough for being my big brother. You are the most amazing and kind brother and i couldn't think of a good life without you in it so thank you for loving me and taking care of me big bro". I wrap my arms around Katie tightly as i smile brightly and tear up, i'd always take care of Katie no matter what she did or who she became friends with i'd always support and love her. "There's no need to thank me sis, i'm always going to be here for you no matter what because i love you. Being your brother is my greatest joy Katie, being able to call you my sister is my biggest brag i could ever give to anyone. You are the best sister i could ever ask for and no matter what happens in life you can always call me and i'll come running". Katie smiles brightly and kisses my cheek gently before he we hear a loud bang and we shoot up and run downstairs to see our mom had dropped two bags of frozen peas and i let out the tiny breath i was holding as i walk over to my mom and help her pick up the bags of frozen peas. Katie laughs softly and bumps shoulders with mom and kisses her cheek gently as she grabs a cup of water and hums happily, i walk over to the window and see the boy from earlier sitting outside and fixing a bike with no shirt on before my sister walks up besides me and smirks a little. "He's cute, you got a crush big bro?". I scoff and shake my head slowly, yes yes yes i had a crush on him. He was smoking hot and looked like a god hand crafted him from a block of sexy, i take a deep breath as i watch him work. "Maybe but i don't have time for a relationship with school and everything that's going on, i'm busy sis". Katie shakes her head and puts a hand on my shoulder gently before she sighs and looks at me. "You deserve happiness too James, you always do everything for everyone so for once do something for yourself and go for it". Katie says softly before she walks back over to mom leaving me to think about what she said and maybe she was right, maybe it was time to start living for myself more but my questions was, why would i family that looks well off move to a shitty town like this? Why were they here? And what did they want?
