14 Fountain of Love

Because they stayed up late at night, Genos woke up very late in the morning but the same thing can also be said to Diana. He had not much recollection of what happened last night but he was sure that it must have been hard for him.

To digest such a large amount of information in such a short period of time, not to mention the difference in their own worlds such as the cultures, customs, and other things was really hard for Genos. Luckily though, it seems like he understood things quite fast.

After waking up, Genos didn't bother taking a bath as he can't even remove his armor and it seems like he was still clean.

'Right?'

Genos thought optimistically.

He then went to the living room where he saw Diana was already preparing to head out and was just about to go to his room.

"Oh Genos, I was just about to call you."

"Are we going already?"

"Yes. The faster we find it, the faster we can stop the invasion."

"But what about breakfast?"

"Breakfast can wait later. Saving lives is more important."

Diana then heads out first leaving Genos at the living room looking very dispirited but then became lively instantly.

"If we find it fast that means I can then eat."

And with that motivation, he hurriedly followed after Diana.

After looking around for a few hours now, they still can't find where the Khagtana's Tear was located so they decided to take a rest first. Diana sat near a fountain, which is located at the heart of the city and was also the main attraction.

According to Diana, the name of this fountain is the Fountain of Love, and by which its name suggests is a fountain for lovers. Legends say that if two people drink the water from the fountain, they will find out if they are meant to be.

And from what had Diana said, her mother and father are an example of those people.

Genos then sat beside Diana not minding her reddened face. He looks at the sky and he can't help but admit that the sky in this world is much better than on Earth.

He also loves the peace in this city, even though there may be some crimes at some places but it was much more peaceful than on Earth. Where everyone only cares about themselves, a world full of hypocrites, and self-centered people.

Genos wished that everyone can be equal but sometimes, things don't really go that way.

"Hey, Diana."

"What is it Genos?"

"Why do you think that the demons are attracted to the Khagtana's Tear?"

Diana rubbed her chin a bit while she was thinking. She was also not sure why this thought entered her mind all of a sudden. They are still not sure what caused the demons to attack their city and just thought that it was because of this.

But now that she thinks about it, it is probable that the Khagtana's Tear might not be the cause of it.

"You're right Genos. We have already searched the whole city but we still can't find it."

"That's right. I also thought of this, there must be a reason why the demons are attacking the city."

"Then what caused it?"

"Think of it, Diana. If a stronger demon appeared at this region in the forest, what would happen to the weaker demons?"

Diana then stood up and looked at Genos.

"You mean?"

Genos nodded.

"Yes. There might be a strong demon driving the weaker demons out of the forest."

"What should we do?"

"Diana, I just realized it but are you not using your head?"

Diana laughed sheepishly.

"I'm just too lazy to think about it. So come one, tell me what should we do!"

Genos sighed looking at Diana who is already starting to show her lazy side.

"We will look for it in the forest then kill it."

"Great! Come on let's go!"

Diana then dragged Genos towards the forest.

Walking side by side, Diana was holding her sword on her hand tightly as she looked around her in high vigilance. Her eyes were like an eagle looking at her surroundings.

Genos was just casually walking, he was not afraid that there will be demons ambushing them as his reflexes are enhanced by his ability ((Fight Mastery)) which was about to level up.

"Genos be on guard. Demons might appear at any moment."

"Relax Diana. There are no demons around here. By the way, why did you believe me that fast?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean. Shouldn't you search the city more before we decide to look for the strong demons that I said? We are not even sure if there is really a strong demon in the forest."

"It's just my intuition. Woman's intuition to be exact. It never failed me before that's why I believed you."

"Well, if you say so."

Genos then decided to just follow Diana as he checked his status.

Because of him killing a lot of demons, he had leveled up to 7 but his strength can even surpass Diana even without his armor and sword so that only mean that he is stronger than other people even though he had a lower level.

Genos doesn't really care about strength, he is just happy as long as he can protect his sister until she can be independent and live on her own. At that time, maybe he should do the things that he wants.

But before his sister can be independent, that would have to wait.
