1 Meeting sable

The breeze hits my face as I turn right walking up to the school gates. I drop my head looking down at my shoes as I get near the bunch of school kids messing around. This was my first day at my new school. And like any other 15 year old girl I am nervous. All the negatives about starting a new school raced into my head. I can't let that get the worst out of me. I decided to face my fear,as I looked at the unfamiliar building that stood before my eyes making my stomach churn.

Taking a deep breath in I walked inside. The noises of laughter filled the atmosphere making me build up a feeling of loneliness. I checked my timetable to distract myself from the thought of throwing up. It looked like I had assembly first thing. Well that was great way of starting my first  day of sitting in a chair listening to the head ramble about nonsense that no student would care about. Not knowing where to go I asked one of the teachers who stood outside, scared to ask the other students.

Picking up all my courage I walked up to the teacher wearing skinny jeans and a jumper with a puffy cost unzipped. "Where is the assembly hall?'' I whispered only to be replied with.''Speak up a bit sweaty.'' I hate when teachers act like they didn't hear what I said the first time. ''Where is the assembly hall?'' finally finding my voice. "Its in the building near the lunch hall." Pointing to an old building. I smiled and said my thank you and trailed off to where she had pointed.

I stood awkwardly for a few minutes when suddenly I noticed a girl about my age coming towards me. She had straight dirty blonde hair tied up into a high ponytail. Her blue eyes looked like the ocean. Those eyes reminded me of Rebecca. My best friend back in sheffield, but she's no longer here. She's with the angels, a better place for her. A welcoming smile was painted across her face as she stood just a few steps away. I smiled not wanting to be rude. A quick hey escaped my mouth before she had the chance to speak. "Hi, I'm Sable. I don't think I've seen you here." She said as she inspected me. "I'm new here and I'm Talisha." I replied my palms sweating. She nodded taking my planner out of my hand. "Looks like we have the same classes. I can show you around the school if you want." She handed back my planner. She seemed to be someone I like to be with. "Sure." I said just as the bell rang giving me a sudden fright. Sable took me by my arms walking me towards the double doors. I looked around in awe as I say down next to sable taking in the new environment I discovered. This was twice as large as my old schools assembly hall.

"This is going to be a long boring half an hour Tali" Sable sighed leaning back into her chair. I smiled knowing how this feels. In my old school Mr Clegg would go on about how the school system works and all the nonsense which wasn't necessary. By the time Mr Clegg finished half the people would be asleep.

Everyone quieten as a very tall man ambled in. He had a very dark baby suit with a pair of round glasses sitting on top of his amber eyes. He looked nothing like Mr Clegg, he looked like he was straight forward whenever he speaks. "Good morning Y10's" He announced in a rather deep voice. I soon trailed of into my world of my imagination not wanting to listen to whatever he was going to say.

A sudden nudge made me aware of my surroundings. Everyone stood up and started walking towards their classes. "Come on Talisha, you can't air here all day." Sable groaned. I quickly stood up fixing my crumpled skirt. I followed sable like a lost bird. "When did you move here then?" Sable questioned breaking the awkward silence. "A week ago, but I didn't come to school because I wanted to settle in and get used to my new home. " I replied, earning a node from sable. "Just warning you stay away from Sabrina and her group of idiots. They're the school bully and you don't want to mess with them." She whispered so no one else can hear. I nodded taking in Sabrina and who she is. "For maths we have Mrs Thatcher, she's in her early 20s and she's one of the fun teachers. The others are old boring teachers who should be in a hospital bed." I laughed at the way she described the older teachers. "It looks like I have a lot to catch upon on and your the one who's going to help me on that." Grinning. She smiled squeezing my arm "you sure do."  "How many friends do you have?" Asking out of curiosity. "I have 2 boy best friends. One of them is Carlos but he's not in today because he has a slight fever and the other one is Harrison but we call him Harry. And that's all." Me with a big mouth questioned her again."So wait you don't have an girl besties?" She laughed. "Maybe you can be my girl bestie. " My eyes lit up. I didn't imagine I would find a friend on my first day and I would've never imagine finding a best friend on my first day. "I would do anything to be best friends with you." I beamed. Seems like maths class won't be as bad as I thought. "Oh and Harry would be in our class well basically nearly all our classes. " Sable interrupting my thought of maths class. Looks like I will be meeting one of sable's friend sooner than I thought.
