15 Chapter 14 - The End

"Why are you .... doing this." , asked Zeroth.

" Leon and I had always being childhood friends, We used to train and laugh together . When we grew up , Leon proved to be a better Wizard and after winning the Royal tournament, he held the Title of Hell Destroyer . I was always proud of him , Soon I was made the Royal Captain. But still I never got any importance, which I deserved. Everyone just used to praise him . Slowly, I got jealous of Leon . I even heard rumors that the King had first asked Leon to become the Royal Captain, but he Denied the position, so the king had no other option that is why he gave me that position . "

Then Lucas paused for a while and then continued , " My hate for Leon increased even more when we had returned from a task, which the king had asked us both to complete together , The King only praised Leon , in front of the entire city and didn't even mention my name. Then once Leon told me about the book of Z , that day I made up my mind of taking that book from Leon at any cost and if he tried to resist, I wouldn't hesitate to kill him . I wanted the Book of Z to become more strong and powerful, so that people also realize my important and praise me. Then according to the plan , on the planned day , I went to your home . I found the door opened , so I entered without saying anything and saw your parents dead. I realized that someone else had taken the Book of Z before me . I became every sad as my plans were shattered. Then suddenly I heard Leon calling me. I rushed towards him and asked him what had happened there, he told me that The Dark God had taken the Book of Z from him . Then he pointed towards you , you were at that time very small and were crying next to your mother's body . Leon then said , " I had transferred my powers in him and I give you the responsibility of raising him and to teach him to awaken those powers , cause I believe that he would be able to restore the book and bring peace back to the world ", after which Leon died. Then I saw you and thought of using you to fulfill my dreams and then I raised you until you were 18 and then erased your memory of me, and after that whatever happened you are well aware of that.", said Lucas.

" You wanted the Book of Z.... just to gain popularity?", asked Zeroth.

" That was my real motive before , but now my motive has changed . I intend to wage a war against the king and rule the world and show those people what I am capable of . I will make their each day a living hell " , then Lucas paused for a while and then continued, " I don't intend to kill you but I have no option left, according to the prophecy, you are the person who will protect the world from destruction and will bring peace to the world. So I must eliminate you."

" What prophecy? " , asked Zeroth.

" The prophecy was that , 'A HERO WILL RISE, HE WILL SHINE WITH A BRIGHT LIGHT WHEN THE ENTIRE WORLD WOULD BE SURROUNDED BY DARKNESS. HE WILL AWAKEN THE POWER OF GODS AND DEMON AND WILL FIGHT AGAINST THE EVIL AND WILL RESTORE THE PEACE OF THE WORLD' , and I assume that the prophecy is connected to you.", said Lucas.

Then Lucas pulled his knife from Zeroth and was about to slash Zeroth's neck, when Zeroth with a sudden movement dodged the hit and kicked Lucas backwards and said, "Lend me your strength, Zenon and Leisa , FUSE".

Lucas was shocked to see Zeroth's new form and said, " Impossible, how could you even move after taking that hit from my knife before ?".

" I think, I forgot to tell you that these cuts could do nothing to me.", said Zeroth and then pointed towards the point where Lucas had stabbed him with knife.

Lucas was shocked to see that the wound had now been fully recovered and then asked, " So did you just pretended to be wounded?"

" Yes, I did."

" But why?".

" When you said that you came here to check whether I was fine or not and that you wanted to have a look at the Book of Z, Leisa , the goddess of Truth told me that you were lying and that your intentions didn't seem right. So I just played to have fallen to your plan, so that I could know everything about my parents, which I was not aware of yet. Now hand me the Book of Z back."

" Do you think that I am mad that after having almost fulfilled my dreams I will let them vanished now ? , no I won't let that happen. I have the Book of Z with me right now so I will use it to defeat you first and then fulfill my dreams. "

Then with the speed of lightning, Zeroth rushed towards Lucas and before he could open the book , slashed his chest . Then Zeroth took the Book of Z back from him.

Then Zeroth said, " I must not waste any more time and destroy this book now forever ." . Then Zeroth raised the book and said " Lend me your entire strength Zenon and Leisa , ' DESTROY ' , then suddenly the book was covered with a dark aura and it emitted a white light from the center.

After a while the aura disappeared and the Book of Z was getting converted into tiny white particles ,which then got vanished in the sky.

Then Zeroth returned to his normal form.

" so the prophecy was true." , said Lucas, who was lying on the ground and his body was covered with blood. He felt extremely sad after seeing his dreams shatter before his own eyes.

" Lucas , do you even know how much the king trusted you , he still remembers you and he thinks that you were captured by the Dark God. He even told me to bring you back to him..", said Zeroth.

Lucas laid there motionless and then suddenly his eyes were filled with tears and then he said, " I realize it , but it's too late now Zeroth , I can't change anything now. I would now be called a traitor . I am not concerned about that but when The King will know that I have betrayed him, he would be extremely sad and would never trust anyone again as he considered me as his friend and shared all his problems with me. I now also realize that Leon never competed with me , I was the one who used to be jealous of his achievements . He always considered me as his good friend. I have even betrayed my dearest friend. I have no right to live ."

" Lucas , I am thankful to you for raising me till I was 18 . I know that you are a good person who was misguided by people you met and heared, So I will tell the King that you faught with the Dark God along with me and died after taking a hit from the Dark God for me."

" I don't have enough words to thank you, You are helping me even after knowing what all I had done to you . You are no doubt Leon's son, Leon had also been this good to everyone. Now, I can have a satisfying death , I would again like to thank you Zeroth for making me realize where I was going wrong and take care, child."

After which Lucas died. Then Zeroth turned towards Ricardo , who also by now was dead . Then Zeroth headed towards the castle , in his way the people of Salvac praised and thanked him .

Then after reaching the Castle, Zeroth told the King about the Dark God and how Lucas died in order to save him . The King then Announced that a ceremony would be held the next day .

In the ceremony, Lucas was highly praised by the King for all his contributions towards Salvac, Then his body was buried with honour . After which The King praised Zeroth and gave him a medal for his contribution in saving the world. Zeroth was then also appointed as the new Royal Captain .

Then the King approached Zeroth and said, "I give you the responsibility of the entire Royal Forces ,and take this Title Holder for winning the Royal tournament . I have already filled your details in it .You deserve it. ", and then handed him a small transparent diamond ball , which had a tiny black dragon mark on the center of it, and then continued, " I had myself customized this specially for you, did you like it?".

" Yes, Thank you your highness and I promise you that I won't let you down."

" I believe you Zeroth. "

Then Zeroth touched the dragon mark on the Diamond Title holder , and then suddenly a screen opened up before Zeroth and the screen stated , ...HELL DESTROYER... , and below it , there was Zeroth's details along with his photograph.

Suddenly a Royal guard came rushing inside the room and shouted, " Your highness, we have been attacked. "

" Zeroth, take care of them" , said the King.

Zeroth gave the King a nod and rushed outside and with a smile on this face said, " Lend me your strength, Zenon and Leisa , FUSE." .
