3 Chapter three

Mate? Fate surely couldn't be this cruel as to match him up with the murder of his people. She couldn't be his mate. She couldn't be. Marcelo tried to convince himself looking in the mirror in denial as he stared at the bonding markings on him. He shattered the mirror in anger.

Marcelo never expected to find his true mate because of how rare mates found each other he'd hoped he'd be among the lucky few who did now he wished he never wished that. A murderess? Really fate has a twisted sense of humor. Fuck her fuck fate if he couldn't kill her he'd kill all her fellow hunters and that witch who helped with the charms. Blood for blood she killed his people he'd make sure he killed hers

He'd locked her in the attic after disarming her of her many weapons. She'd be out for a few hours once she's conscious he'll start the interrogation. No personal effects were found on her she had a burner phone which was useless now that it was broken and a Maryland driver's license with the name of Stacy Miller that he was sure it was a fake ID no hunter is stupid enough to bring their real ID to a hunt. Maybe she was a stupid hunter. Calvin was checking her identity through the facial recognition software nothing has come up so far.

"Just kill me now and not waste any time because I wouldn't talk." Was the first thing she told him when he came into the room after he saw her gain consciousness in the security monitor. It was disturbing how resigned she looked to her death.

"No pleading for your life?" Marcelo questioned a bit impressed and unsettled.

"You're monsters that's what you do kill. So kill me."

"You talk as though you don't kill, Hypocritical." he scoff at her retort

"Killing a monster doesn't make you a monster if you save someone that matters in the process." She spoke those words looking at him with eyes void of any emotion.

"Still a monster. So tell me your name isn't Stacy is it" Marcelo stated watching her body language to catch her tell

"Stacy Miller. If knowing your victims names makes you feel better" she simply said giving nothing away other than the change in her heart beat which indicated she was lying Stacy Miller was not her name.

"Who is the witch who helped you disguise your scent." noticing her heartbeat skipped he could smell the brief fear that came off her before she quickly changed her emotions but that brief slip he knew that the witch was someone important to her.

Damn witches. Witches were the most despised beings due to their history with every other immortal on this planet. Though now most are in hiding since the humans found out about their evil practices and hunted them down. Odd though that this hunter was actually working with a witch and was close to her.

"I'm surprised that a hunter is working with witch." he casually said though he was watching her every reaction. Her face was blank she said nothing did nothing. It was like she blocked him out and shielding herself deep in her mind.

He sat across from her for a while waiting for a change to happen she only blankly stared at him with the same expression. There was something deeply wrong with her. He left the room more irritated than he was going in. He went to to the office to think things through even though he was still watching her through the commuter monitor. He wasn't gone for alone for long. He heard a knock on his office door scensing it was Calvin he told him to come in

"Don, I found something on her."  Calvin quickly stated once he came in him with handing him a tablet with the information he found

"This can't be right it says here  she is supposed to be dead. Are you sure it's her and not her sister or something."

"From what I found Eman only has a brother no sister."

"Maybe That's her doppelgänger or something because she's not dead. She's in that room and very much alive"

"I know which is why I contacted the original ME that dealt with Faith's case through my connections he sent the photos of her corpse and and samples  of her DNA to match it with her and they match. The Medical examiner also told me that someone had performed a caesarean postmortem." this information froze Marcelo to the core.

"What about the child." Marcelo asked slowly aftonce againer a long moment of silence and he found his voice

"None was found." Calvin answered looking down not wanting to

"Who identified the body?" he questioned

"It says here her brother Kabir Mumin Identified her. I tried contacting him but it's like he dropped out the grid since her death borth her father and mother are dead too no other close family." None of this was making sense nothing of her past was connecting. And he knew deep down she wouldn't be talking.

"Try finding that brother of hers and the child. Someone has to know something. Two people just don't disappear out of thin air. And tell the ME to send you finger prints so we can confirm she's one of the same female.

"Okay, Don." Calvin nodded leaving the office

"Eman Mumin..." he whispered to himself once he was alone testing it. He knew this woman was linked to the hunteress in the attic.

It was part of the protocol if one of them was caught they all scrammed Zeke would take Adam somewhere safe. They would separate in order to make whoever was on their tail hard for them to track them all. Knowing Ruby and Trick they'd be coming for her.

Hope had already freed her one of her hands from the handcuffs being well aware that there were cameras in the room and no windows only one exit. She needed to timme her escape just right. She had to leave here before those two came after her and potentially hurt themselves and she also need to get away from here and get herself into control. They probably drugged her while she was out. That's the only logical explanation as to why she was reacting to him like that. Now that he was out of her sight she couldn't stop the disgust she felt at herself,  She spit to the side in revelation no way in hell was she attracted to him, no way he had to have drugged her. She told herself as she started to strain her hearing watching the door biding her time she only had one shot and she had to time it right. Hearing the commotion was probably a sign to start her escape so she got out of her seat.

Her chest was still tingling and seemed to be increasing in sensation she pulled the collar of the top to see what was causing the sensation. Oddly enough the tingling wasn't irritating it felt more...urgent? She hissed at what she saw. Red vine tattoo pattern over her chest and around her bicep. The knowledge that those bastards tattooed her while she was violating.she vowed that once she was out and armed she was going to come back for them and make them pay, but first she has to find a way out of the wolf den and find out what was those abominations did to her.
