The Blue Stone

It was spring time. Cool breeze filled the school campus. A group of girls walked towards the campus with big smile on their faces.

'Hey Alana did you hear?' , the girl with heavy make up on her and blond hair said.

'Hear what? Remi are you spreading rumours again?' , Alana said with a raised eyebrow.

Remi was a wannabe babe. She used to dress up in latest trends and heavy makeup. And always had some news to share, like some nosy neighbour. And most of the time the news were nothing but rumours. So Alana never really believed her. And neither did her friends Candy and Ivy.

'Alana dont be a bitch' I am telling you the truth, ivy and I saw it all, Remi retorted. 'The janitor is upto something, we heard strange sounds in the basement and when we went there it was nothing.' Ivy told Alana.

'Ok may be he is having the time of his life with miss Munro' , Candy said and laughed hard. ' Candy was a tom boy with a pixie cut. And had all the dirty jokes in store.

All of them walked past the gate but not Alana, she stood behind, absolutely still. Candy called out to her 'hey Alana come fast we will be late'.

But Alana did not move. She stayed there.

Ivy shook Alana and she came back to her senses, startled. 'What happened to you? This is the fifth time in past 3 months you are behaving like this. ' Ivy asked concerned.

'Oh its nothing lets go'. Alana replied.

All of them went inside and Alana holding her blue gem locket she always wore, so that no one can see the blue gem glowing.

The blue gem was a beautiful locket Alana found 3 months back in a yard sale. Mrs. Selma Psych had a yard sale 3 months back and Alana happened to be there with a cousin.

Alana's favorite color was blue so most of her wardrobe had blue color dresses so she thought the blue gem necklace would be perfect for her. So she bought it. But ever since she had been having strange visions and blinding headaches.

This morning when she was walking with her freinds to school she suddenly had the vision that evey one around her dissapeared and there was snow everywhere covered with blood , a small wolf was standing far away glaring at her baring his teeth. She looked around to asking for help and then looked back at the wolf, but the wolf was no where to be found.

She tried to walk towards safety if there was any, but there was nothing to be found. Suddenly she heard a low growl, she looked back and it was the same wolf, slowly moving towards her. Then she saw the wolf wasn't that small, as it neared towards her the size of the wolf kept increasing, finally she saw the wolf was twice her size. Suddenly it leaped towards her and Alana threw up her arms towards her face to cover herself, protect herself and some one shook her hard. She opened her eyes and saw it was Ivy with a concerned look. She tried to calm herself when she saw her necklace was glowing blue like a firefly.

She got so scared she caught it in her hand so that no one can see. And hurried inside. She felt a sharp tingling pain at the back of her head. She brought both her hands on her temples and tried to squeeze out the pain, but in vain.

She kept thinking this pendant might be cursed, she will meet Selma Psych and ask her about it.

Ivy concerned as always came to meet Alana in lunch break. 'Are you Ok now?' Ivy was a sweet chubby shortie and Alana's most trusted friend.

'Hey Ivy, thank you so much, but its nothing. ' Alana said.

'It was something Alana but its ok it don't want to tell me. May be you don't trust me as much as I do. ' Ivy was clearly dissapointed.

'No Ivy please don't be angry with me. But I don't think you will believe me even if I told you.'

'Try me' Ivy said.

Alana told her all about the blue stone pendant and her visions or hallucinations or whatever they are. Ivy heard it all and asked to see the glowing pendant. Alana showed her the pendant which was glowing bright blue and as she placed it on Ivy's hand it turned to a shade of purple. She couldn't really trust her eyes so she took it from Ivy, it turned bright blue again. Then Ivy frowned 'What you don't want to show it to me'

'No nothing like that but it changed color dud u see? ' Alana asked.

'No it didn't ' Ivy said 'and its not even glowing'

Ivy took the pendant again and turned purple again.

'Ivy its glowing purple in your hand can't you see? ' Alana asked again.

'Alana are you messing with me? ' Ivy was frustrated by this sick joke Alana playing on her.

'No beleive me I am not. Its glowing Ivy. Am I..... Am I hallucinating? ' Alana was scared.

'or may be loosing your mind ' Ivy said non-chalant.

'What do I do? ' Alana was sick worried.

'Give me the necklace, if its causing so much trouble why do you were it. Let me get it of you. ' Ivy said taking the pendant and opened her bag to keep it. Just then Alana caught her hand in mid air 'No its mine.' she said.

'Hey Alana chill I just want to help you, that's all. ' Ivy winced at Alana's grip.

'I don't know why I did that. ' Alana thought and said at the same time. Really why would she act like that with Ivy. 'Ivy let me take the pendant to Selma Psych and ask her. I got it from her, she is bound to know something. '

'Yeah it makes sense. Talk to that Selma. But after that you are giving it to me. '

'Ok fine. ' Alana sighed.

Alana stood up to leave first and pain at the back of her brain shot again. 'Alana are you ok? Let me help you. ' Ivy caught Alana and was shocked to find that she was burning up.

'Alana you have a fever. let go to the infirmary. '

'Its ok Ivy I will manage. ' Alana said and got up to leave. Something inside her was telling her not to partake with the pendant. As it the pendant was supposed to be with her and only her. She took pendant and wore it again. Suddenly a surge of discomfort ran through her and she lost her balance. Ivy caught her again.

'Hey Alana can I keep the pendant? You seem sick. I will take the pendant and you can take it from me when you feel better later. ' Ivy asked.

'Just keep it. ' Alana said. She was frustrated that all Ivy cared about was the pendant. Ivy was not like this. Why was she behaving like this. Alana took off the necklace and gave it to her.

Alana was returning home when the pain in her head increased ten folds. She hold the head with both her hands. And it started snowing and she felt so cold she was shivering. And then she saw it. That wolf moving towards her. The cold was unbearable Alana took a step back, but the wolf moved towards her. Alana turned around to run. The wolf was behind her. The snow fall was so heavy she couldn't see anything and she felt so weak. The walls were closing in on her. Finally everything got dark. And she fell on the snow.

A boy stood by, watching her fall on the pavement. What was wrong with this girl he thought. He sat down to look at her. The girl was running and crying hysterically on the pavement. She kept looking at her back as if someone was following her but tge street was empty. May be she had a few nuts loose in her brain. He slid a lock of that dark brown hair and saw a fair maiden. Yes She indeed was beautiful. He wondered what color eyes she had. He touched her forehead and felt herself burning. She had really high fever. He thought he would take her home and take care if her. And who knows maybe he would get Lucky with her. He picked her up in his arms and went towards the opposite side of the road.

Somewhere else someone was watching Alana for quite some time now. There was Crystal ball there with Alana's reflection in it. In the crystal the mysterious man saw - the boy keeping Alana on a bed and checking her temperature. He kept a wet towel on her forehead to bring down the temperature. The man laughed sneering - 'Dont worry It will all be over soon my blue princess. Soon you will die and the blue stone shall be mine.'
