10 A MAN OR A WOMAN

Leng Weilin didn't understand what was going on. He was feeling annoyed.

For Leng Weilin this was the most embarrassing situation he had faced in his 29 years of life.

He again stared at the couple.

Assistant An was sweating profusely, occasionally wiping his forehead with a handkerchief. His eyes darted anxiously between his fiancée and Leng Weilin's phone.

Secretary Chen was almost at the verge of crying.

Until a few minutes before, they were happily engaged couple.

But now… their future was in turmoil.

He felt sorry for his assistant and his secretary.

Sighing in exasperation, Leng Weilin talked to his grandfather again, " Grandpa, Please stop your assumptions. Assistant An is not a gay. He doesn't have any problem with his… his orientation"

By saying this, Leng Weilin was not only trying to persuade his grandpa, but also trying to indirectly help his assistant to regain his face in front of his fiancée.

"How do you know it? How can you be so sure about it?"

Leng Weilin was taken aback by Grandpa Leng's sudden question. He didn't know how to answer now. This time, he saw secretary Chen looking at her future husband dejectedly.

Leng Weilin couldn't take it anymore. He was fuming. He furiously told his grandfather

"Grandpa, stop this. I am not in to my assistant. Can you please stop talking about him?"

"Okay, Okay, hereafter I am not talking about him"

After few seconds of silence,

"Child, we know that you are not interested in girls. We already accepted it. You don't need to worry. We love you just the way you are."

Leng Weilin scowled hearing his grandfather's words. But he was more embarrassed because his staff were listening to this conversation. It was really awkward and embarrassing to discuss his sexuality in front of his staff.

Leng Weilin silently asked his assistant and his secretary to leave his office so that he could avoid more embarrassment in front of them. He inwardly cursed himself for not doing it earlier. Now his assistant and his secretary were also in an awkward situation.

Leng Weilin rubbed his temple and sighed. If he was really homosexual he wouldn't mind accepting it. But he was not homosexual.

A few seconds of silence.

"So… Are you dating anyone?"

"No grandpa, I am not dating anyone"

Pausing for a second, Grandpa Leng continued his interrogation.

"Are you interested in anyone?"

"No grandpa, I am not interested in anyone"

"Then cancel your trip. We don't want to meet you."

"What?..... But why? I missed you both" Leng Weilin felt shocked hearing his grandfather's words. He was planning for this vacation for a long time.

"Did we not tell you to bring someone with you when you are coming to meet us? We don't wish to see you alone."

Leng Weilin felt irked by his grandfather's unreasonable demand. His grandfather was deliberately trying to make things difficult for him. He was well aware of the fact that Leng Weilin was not homosexual.

His grandparents wanted him to settle down soon. It was really difficult to deal with the pressures from his grandparents to get married. They were using all sorts of ways now.

"It is not possible to find someone now. My flight is scheduled for evening. I am really missing two of you. Please let me visit you alone this time." Leng Weilin requested.

"Oh.. You can visit us later. You don't need to rush." Grandpa Leng said in an unemotional tone.

Leng Weilin sighed and shook his head helplessly.

"Where is Grandmother? I didn't talk to her for a few days"

Leng Weilin tried to change the tactic. He felt that he should try to persuade his grandmother instead of talking to his grandfather. His grandmother couldn't reject his request.

"Your grandmother is busy with her friends right now. You can talk to her later."

Leng Weilin understood that his grandfather was doing this deliberately.

"Your Grandmother and I are going on a tour with our old friends. We will call you once we are back"

Pausing for a few seconds, Grandpa Leng continued.

"So we will meet you when you are ready to show us your partner. We will happily accept whoever it is. A man or a woman" Grandpa Leng stressed the last line to irk his grandson.

Leng Weilin didn't respond.

"Take care of yourself."
