1 Marked.

The town of Dundalk, Ireland was once peaceful, but not completely peaceful. There was a murder from time to time and even conflicts from time to time. However, on that Tuesday night, the entire town changed for the worse.

Eli was at his friend's house for a sleepover when he heard a bang so loud that he figured everyone had heard it. He shook his friend until he was half awake. Eli then asked if he had heard the loud crashing sound. His friend Oscar, with little sleep, could only say that he couldn't hear anything. Eli shook his head and told himself that he was imagining the noise and laid back down.

An hour and a half had passed, and the clashing noise once more had woken Eli up. He had grown accustomed to it and went to check for himself. He walked to the back porch and could hear the whistling gusts of wind in all directions. Stepping closer to the window, he noticed that there was a thunderstorm happening. Once he put two and two together, he realized that the noise was most likely thunder.

Eli closed the curtain and headed back to Oscar's room when he noticed something strange happening outside. He saw a stream of light sitting on the ground behind the thin curtain. When he looked past the curtain, he could see a lightning bolt standing in the middle of the small backyard. He walked out the back door and walked steadily towards the bolt of lightning.

The bolt became outraged and exploded right in front of him. He was filled with heat and felt a burn all over. His vision was distorted, and the only thing he could see was humanoid figures walking towards him. Ambient voices come from both male and female people. He didn't recognize any familiar voices, so he tried to crawl away.

One warrior named Forg grabbed on to Eli and held him still while forcing an elixir down his throat. As Eli gagged on the concoction, Forg told the lady warrior named Sýn to call the gateway back to ancient Midgard. She requested Heimdallr to open a gateway to ancient Midgard.

Before traveling to Midgard, Heimdallr advised them to seek out the Allfather. Another warrior named Daga said that it was important for them to see the God of Wind, Njord. Heimdallr was suddenly interrupted as he began to speak by the Allfather himself, Odin. He commanded that they bring Eli to him immediately. Sýn yielded and led her team back to the Allfather.

Heimdallr opened the gateway and sent them directly to Asgard. Eli was passed out. The elixir must have had an aftereffect on him. The golden chariot carried them from the gateway to the throne room of Asgard. Odin held his spear Gungnir above their heads and commanded them to explain why they would go to a traitor of the throne. Daga requested if he could speak; the Allfather granted his request. Daga then said that only he knew of such inconveniences.

Odin felt insulted. He didn't like the idea of someone other than himself knowing all knowledge. He told Daga that he was lying to him under Gungnir and that Njord was banished from Asgard for telling myths of Ragnarok. Sýn requested to speak; Odin denied her and focused on Daga.

He asked him about their true intentions with the power of his son, Thor. Daga watched Odin aim Gungnir at him and said, "With this, you'll speak the truth and nothing but." Daga dropped to his hands and knees and begged for forgiveness. Odin chuckled at him and said that his spear could not do such a thing.

The guards laughed at his ridiculous display. The Allfather asked Sýn about their true intentions with a calm tone. Sýn stood tall and looked Odin in the eye and said, "We wanted to take him to Midgard to release Thor's power to the skies of Midgard." Odin sat straight up and told her that doing that would alert all the other realms of his power. "You know what that means, Sýn?" Odin asked her ferociously. She didn't seem fazed. Odin then leaned back and gave them their punishment.

He demanded that the group of warriors travel to Muspelheim and bring him the head of a fire giant. It may sound easy, but killing a fire giant without alerting others was not an easy task. He dismissed them and told one of his guards to carry Eli to Asgard's chambers.

Shortly after they dropped him off, Eli appeared to have markings from the bolt of lightning that struck him earlier. They weren't ordinary marks; they were tattoos. Moments later, Eli had woken up, and he was a bit lost. He stood up and noticed the marks on his arms. He looked forward towards the gold bars that held him captive.

Eli looked to the right of the room and noticed someone trying to clean up and called out to him. The young man ignored Eli and showed apprehension. Eli started hearing the voice of an adult male. He told Eli to stop the excessive noise. Eli asked who he was, and the man replied, "Heimdallr."

Three guards came and grabbed Eli and they took him to see Odin. He tried to struggle for freedom but was unsuccessful.

Once they reached the throne, Eli saw an older man sitting on the biggest seat in the room. His hair was white as snow, and his clothing was a mixture of gold, white, and silver. Eli sat below the throne of the Allfather and two guards stood on both sides of him.

Odin placed Gungnir by his side and studied Eli. He took a few minutes before he spoke. Odin had Heimdallr walk into the room. Odin asked him from which realm Eli had come from, and his reply was that he came from another Midgard. Odin placed his hands on his beard and considered the possibilities. Heimdallr added that Thor's powers may have traveled there. Then he said that it was possible that his powers had entered Eli and returned to their origin.

Odin, ever more cluttered, had found an explanation for this. He stood up and walked down to Eli. He told him to stand up and took his hand. Odin examined the tattoos and came to a final conclusion.

Odin said that when Thor died, his godly powers turned into cosmic energy and found the closest thing to its current position, but in another realm. Odin seemed dead set on this theory, even though it seemed kind of played out. Odin said that his theory wasn't quite accurate, but it was the closest conclusion he could see.

Eli spoke and said he wanted to go back to his home. Odin said that he couldn't return home, and he added, "You are marked now."
