"Quick, look! Xia Yun Xi and Qi Xuan is fighting!"

A man shouted at the top of his lungs.

Xia Yun Xi was embroiled in a fierce battle with Qi Xuan, a well-known enchantress from a neighbouring country. Both of them were in par in terms of power, and were also extremely gorgeous beauties.

Xia Yun Xi was annoyed. She felt frustrated that she couldn't defeat Qi Xuan.

"Die!"She yells, as she charged towards Qi Xuan. Her weapon was pointed towards her enemy, and she moved at an indescribably fast speed. Her eyes radiated anger and smugness.

"Not yet,"Qi Xuan smiles lightly. Malicious intent shone in her gorgeous eyes as she raised her hand and shot a fire ball at Xia Yun Xi.

"Huh! That can't hurt me-"

Her words soon changed into screams of pure agony and terror, as Xia Yun Xi's face burned. She could feel the intense heat melting her face, and the pain was so strong.

"Fool. I found a ancient spell book that enhanced my powers. Have fun being at the bottom, Xia Yun Xi!"Qi Xuan laughed evily, and flew off into the sky.

The crowd was stunned silly by this sudden turn of events. They then realised that Xia Yun Xi was still injured, and quickly went to check on her.

Unfortunately, what was left of Xia Yun Xi's face, was a blistering, scarred mess.

"No..No.. Go away! Scram!"She shrieks, as she attempted to cover her ruined face with her hands. Being surrounded by a large crowd, Xia Yun Xi has never felt so tiny and helpless.

"She looks disgusting now! Is she still the goddess of our city?"

"Obviously no! I think Li Min of the Li Family will succeed the position."

"Ugh, let's leave her! I can't stand her face, it makes me puke!"

Xia Yun Xi's heart trembled upon hearing each cruel word the people said. She was in utter despair, and was unwilling to face the fact that her original beautiful features had been destroyed to a horrible extent.

Hatred for Qi Xuan increased tenfolds, as Xia Yun Xi stared furiously at the last position Qi Xuan had stood at as she ruined her life.

"I swear to ruin you,"Xia Yun Xi growls, as the image of the gorgeous and benevolent-looking Qi Xuan morphed in her mind.

Xia Yun Xi quickly made a silk mask with her magic, and covered her face, before flying to her family's residence.

"How could it b-be?"

Old Master Xia was in shock as he gazed unblinkingly at Xia Yun Xi's scarred face. His hands trembled, as he slowly walked towards his precious granddaughter, and gently touched her face.

"My poor Yun Xi! Does it hurt?"

Yun Xi lifted her head to look at the sagely-looking old man, and a sad smile tugged at her lips.

"It doesn't hurt physically, but it hurts so badly mentally. Grandfather, Yun Xi wants to die. There's no point for me to live with such a horrific face,"Yun Xi mumbles, turning her face away.

"Yun Xi..."

At this moment, the doors to the chamber flew open. Madam Xia and Master Xia quickly rushed to their daughter, and nearly fell over in shock and sorrow after seeing her face.

"Mother, Father,"Yun Xi greets them, and pursed her lips. "Yun Xi has failed you."

Madam Xia's heart broke after hearing her darling daughter's words. She brought her into her embrace, and hugged her tightly. Thinking about the judgement and disgust her daughter would face, Madam Xia broke into tears.

"Old Father, what should we do?"Master Xia asked Old Master Xia, as he sat stunned on the floor. He never expected someone to be so ruthless to ruin Yun Xi's face.

"I don't want to stay here. Yun Xi wants to find a far place to hide at!"Xia Yun Xi exclaims desperately, as she held her Father's hand tightly.

"Please, Father. I can't face the crowd."

Grandfather Xia inhaled a deep breath, before gazing reluctantly at Father Xia.

"Do as what Yun Xi says."

"Old Father!"Father Xia gasped.

"Her suggestion is ideal. Currently, Yun Xi has many enemies after her blood! Sending her away to a safe place is the best choice now,"Grandfather Xia explained, as he frowned and looked at Father Xia. "Do you think I want Yun Xi to leave?"

Father Xia looked troubled."But..."

"I'll listen to Grandfather,"Xia Yun Xi says determinedly, as she stood up. "I'll pack my belongings fast. Please help me arrange a carriage and accommodation."

Mother Xia gripped onto her daughter's hands.

"My precious, Mother is sorry!"

Xia Yun Xi smiles sadly, "Don't worry, Mother."

She then left to pack her belongings, and soon she got onto the carriage.

As Xia Yun Xi sat in the carriage gazing at the scenery, she couldn't help but let the tears fall.

Losing her beauty in an appearance-obsessed world was a nightmare. She lost her standing overnight.

The sakura trees outside seemed to be the only beautiful thing left in her life.

Xia Yun Xi quietly looked at the sakura petals floating in the wind, and she extended her hand to catch a petal that was strangely red. It was absolutely beautiful. All humans love gorgeous things, hence Xia Yun Xi stuffed it into her coin purse as a keepsake.

Unbeknownst to her, that red petal was the very one object that would change her life.
