4 Chap. 3 Rain is my Mate

(Yoru POV)

"Rain..." I murmur softly as I look at the wolf sleeping on my bed. He looked so peaceful after the long treck through the forest and to my pack house. I leave him to sleep as I close the door softly and walk to my office thinking. We had raided the rouge pack's hideout last night and, thanks to Sabastion's undercover work, were able to rescue all the girl that were in the underground cells. I had already known that Rain was in there to but I didn't realize he was would really be my mate. I had already guessed someone there was my mate but him? From what Sabastion had been told he was one of the very first ones kidnapped and had been there for a really long time.

I sigh and sit at my desk needing to work on all the pack work that had piled up but I couldn't get Rain out of my head. My wolf, Alex, was whining softly in the back of my mind. I work for a few hours but give up as Alex keeps bugging me to go and check on Rain. I put everything away and go to my room where Rain is still on my bed but now awake. I watch him quietly as his ash gray wolf plays with the wolf that had been in his cell with him. He seemed to have a close bond to the white and black wolf pup. Rain turns to his face in my direction and wags his tail softly.

"Hello Yoru." He say through a mind link. "Hi Rain." I say back happily. I walk further into the room and sit on the edge of the bed. "So," I say, "what is this little wolf's name?" "Rōzu." Is all he replies as he listened to the wolf yip at him. As he laid on the bed, I wondered if I should and pet him again. I know he let me before but I think that was different. It ways like how all mates are when they first meet and all the world is focused on that one and special person. The one who is made for you. I snap out of my thoughts and decide to try it. I reach over and just at I start to pet him I feel him tense up before he moves out of my reach with his ears flat against his head in fear.

Instantly noticing the sudden change in Rain's mood, Rōzu stopped what she was doing and carefully moved closer to him. As I watched, she gently nudges his side and whines softly. He growls softly at her and curls up into a ball and hides his face under his paws. I look away sadly. "I'm sorry..." I mutter sadly as I get up and leave the room, closing the door behind me. 'I should have known better...' I think to myself, 'but I just wanted to touch my mate, his fur was so soft down in those cells and now that his fur was actually clean...' I shake my head knowing my thoughts wouldn't help. I decided that I will keep trying to be closer to him. Even with his past, I will help him get past it and overcome everything. After all Rain is My Mate.
