2 Chapter 2. Evolution

After the roar once again more than twenty hollows came. The hollow once again sucked their souls.

"Still not enough." Nova murmured to himself. "Seems like I have to go to the forest."

The forest is more commonly known as the Forest of Menos and is in the underground of the desert. The forest is full of trees made from certain mineral substances. These trees extend to the surface and dot the landscape of the desert in Hueco Mundo. This is home to countless Gillian class menos.

Knowing this fact a certain hollow was on his way to the forest to devour the hollows.

Soon after the hollow came to the forest. This time he didn't let out a roar and notify the Gillian class hollows. It was because of his ability 'Vakuum' won't work on the hollows with a similar amount of reiatsu.

Due to this Nova decided to hunt one gillian at the time and quickly moved to find a potential target. The target needs to be alone as Nova can't kill two gillians at the time for now.

Luckily the forest is filled with many gillians. So there were many potential preys who were alone at the moment.

Nova set his eyes on a certain gillian and attacked using Cero. Gillian was as typical as others. It was very tall and had a long nose as well as spikes around its neck area.

The cero was strong enough to injure it. But it also notified the user's location to the gillian. Cero is a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy or reiatsu. Most of the time it is fired from the mouth but can from other parts of the body if the user is proficient enough. Cero's power, force, speed as well as blast area is dependent on the spiritual power of the user which means the stronger the user is stronger the cero.

After receiving cero's blow, gillian wasted no time and blasted its cero at the location of the attacker and looked at the place with interest.

But Nova was not there. As a former arrancar, he knew how to fight. At least better than the gillians.

Suddenly another cero blast came. This time it was pointed at the mask of the gillian. The mask was the weakness of any type of hollow even an arrancar.

After getting hit right on the mask, the gillian screamed out of pain. Soon the sound was ceased as the gillian was devoured.

"It was still not enough." Nova murmured. His tone was clearly irritated. But his irritations didn't stop him from devouring another gillian.

Time passed and Nova had now 'killed' his third Gillian and devoured. Finally, he felt he was evolving.

Nova's body began to glow and his spiritual energy was exploding outwards in dark purple color. His body began to shrank and stopped when he became as big as a normal human size. His wings grew even larger and longer as well as a tail. He also grew two horns. His previous black colored fur-like skin transformed into white scales. His hollow mask grew a little bit bland. As for his eyes, they had become regular lizard-like eyes which were violet-colored. As usual, his spiritual energy had jumped to an immense level which was as strong as Adjucha class menos.

After evolution ended Nova roared once again calling the gillians inside of the forest.

Soon more than a thousand gillians came to Nova mindlessly. It was all due to another trait of a certain type of hollow.

Nova wasted no time and started sucking every soul present evolving him directly into the Adjucha class.

Once again dark purple-colored spiritual energy exploded. Soon after beginning, the process ended.

There was little to no change was present in his body. But his spiritual energy jumped to a vast level making him rival a Vasto Lorde class hollow.

"Now just one and I can evolve into an arrancar." Nova said to himself.

It has been a month since the rebirth of Nova. He had been devouring any hollow he saw. But still couldn't evolve into a Vasto Lorde.

"Just a little bit and I can evolve." Nova muttered after devouring another hollow who met an unfortunate fate.

Suddenly a cero was blasted to Nova out of nowhere. Nova dodged it pretty easily and looked at the source of the cero. There were around 20 adjuchas preparing cero to blast to Nova.

Nova quickly fired his cero while dodging incoming attacks disabling the enemies one by one.

Soon after all of them were disabled, Nova devoured them without wasting time.

After devouring adjuchas, his body began to glow, and his spiritual energy began to explode in violet color.

Soon the process ended. Nova now had human-like skin instead of scales. His wings and tail disappeared. As for his mask, it was still there.

"Finally." Nova exclaimed and began the process of evolving into an arrancar. Evolving into arrancer was different from other evolution as one doesn't need to devour souls to evolve but needs to destroy its mask and restructure its Saketsu and Hakisui. The process is very painful and difficult as a slight mistake would kill the evolver. But it was no problem for Nova as he knew everything about the process.

Nova greeted his teeth and clenched his hands enduring the painful process. A violent violet aura was rampaging around Nova destroying the area.

Soon the aura ceased and grunting stopped. Nova was now looking at the crescent moon planning what to do next.
