1 His birth, his silence.

The plains of Black Thunder, outer territory of the kingdom of Lorneo.

The night was quiet and silent, as a village stood out at night, the torches lit in the streets of the village made it look like a star in the sky.

One house was the exception to the others in the village.

This house kept itself moderately away from the village maintaining a certain feeling of privacy, where there was a young couple expecting a baby along with other anxious people accompanying them.

"Huuff, huuff, huuff, short and continuous breaths dear."

"Just a little more, dear, the baby is coming, it's almost here."

An elderly woman said as she held the young woman's hand in imitation of her breath to try to calm her down.

The other person in the room was a woman in her 30s, dressed in maid's clothes was waiting for the baby who was having complications getting out.

"Dear, I need you to push more, the baby seems to be about to come out, we just need you to push one more time.

The maid said, trying to get the girl to push one last time to finally bring the baby into the world.

The determined young woman, listening to the maid's words, and gave one last push with all her strength to give birth, quickly running out of strength a couple of times until the little baby was finally born.

The maid gently held the baby, but for some strange reason it remained silent and almost without presence.

The maid decided to pat the baby on the back, but he didn't cry at the time the maid decided to use a more aggressive method and gave a light spanking to the baby and again he didn't cry.

"It seems this little one is very resistant to pain."

The maid said smiling and putting her open palm on the baby's chest to feel his heart.

"Congratulations, dear, it's a very healthy boy."

The maid said, comforting the young woman and assuring her that the baby was in perfect condition.

The girl on the other hand had fell asleep almost immediately in her bed after having given birth to the other people outside the room entered due to the curiosity they felt not hearing the cries of the baby.

The sound of the door was heard opening and four people entered the room, three of them were older adults and another a young man in his 20s who smiled when he saw the baby in the maid's arms.

"Oh my, what do we have here, is he a healthy little boy?"

An old man with a long white beard said bringing his face closer to the baby, but at that moment his expression changed from a smile to a worried face.

"Huh?...please. Let me check the baby more closely."

The old man said, taking the baby in his hands and checking it near a candle light on a wooden table.

All present in the room remained silent while the old man checked the newborn.

After a few seconds, the old man turned around with an expression of grief and disappointment.

"I'm... I'm afraid the little one is blind."

The old man said, approaching the maid and handing him over.

"His pupils are white and there is no vision, and he does not perceive the light, it will be a miracle if he manages to live to be an adult since it would require a lot of help to lead a normal life like any other human being".

"Are you sure? Are you totally and completely sure that the baby is blind? Isn't there anything you can do?"

The older woman who had entered the room said, but the old man only negotiated the fact with his head.

"If it were an affliction, it would be curable with a healing position of afflictions, but this is birth blindness, it is very different from a blindness due to an affliction or curse.

"I'm afraid that baby's life will be very difficult from now on it will require a lot of help, even if he becomes an adult he will still need it.

The young man who had entered the room was in shock, he couldn't believe what was happening.

"It's beautiful."

A sweet, delicate voice said.

Everyone present observed with surprise that the young woman had woken up again and had both arms outstretched wanting to receive her baby.

The maid with tears in her eyes approached and delicately delivered the baby into the girl's arms.

The young woman observed the baby who remained in complete silence, she remained calm although she had also heard the bad news, that the baby was blind, her baby was blind, but this did not prevent her from smiling and feeling happy to have had a baby.

"My little Argus."

The young girl, said kissing the baby's forehead, closing her eyes and falling asleep with her baby in her arms.

7 years later.

Argus grew up to be a very healthy and quiet old man who could strangely manage on his own, the people of the village asked themselves how he was able to manage so well on his own despite being blind.

Argus despite being a blind child. He learned to use sound as a guide and to create images of his surroundings with his brain which allowed him to be guided himself in his environment.

Although this did not prevent the other children in the village from bothering him and making fun of his blindness, but again there was one more difference between the children in the village and argus, he was exceptionally stronger both physically and mentally and some children in the village learned this fact the hard way.

The older youth of the village for some strange reason thought it would be a good idea to bother the little argus, and they learned that Argus was not someone you could play with because one of these young people had the idea of throwing a rock to argus, but this one came back, hitting him in the face and breaking some of his teeth.

A short time later nobody from the village made fun of argus, now they were afraid of him.

Argus, without a doubt, had inherited the strength of his great-great-grandfather and good senses from his great-great-grandmother who had been a couple of famous adventurers.

The years continued to pass in the village and new faces appeared one after the other bringing with them an incredible variety of people who stayed in the village, but peace in the village slowly began to be threatened by the creatures of the forest who had never bothered the people of the village, until now.

The villagers built better homes and increased their security, but they had to hunt the creatures of the forest in order to keep them at bay and teach them who were more powerful.

Argus was no exception and decided not to stay behind, but his mother, father and other people in the village told him that he could not interfere.

Argus felt that he was being excluded because of his blindness which was not well taken and as a miracle from heaven, a creature was brave enough to enter the village and attack the villagers.

This creature was quickly killed by villagers who worked as a group to win or at least they thought the creature was dead.

Argus approached the creature slowly as the villagers debated among themselves.

"Those beasts are getting closer and closer to the village and now one of these creatures comes in. If we continue like this for tomorrow we will all die."

Argus observed the creature that had a slight human resemblance, the skin of the creature was green, yellow eyes, pointed nose, teeth and long nails, the height was equal to that of a child, although this did not prevent these creatures were cannibalistic.

Many adventurers who passed through the village constantly told stories of these creatures called goblins which, having no food, resorted to killing each other and eating each other, usually killing the weakest and leaving the strongest, a very macabre selection method.
