10 Welcome to the student life

Gabriel had managed to enter the enormous school gates after just fifteen minutes. The number of students who entered the school were ridiculous. Despite Gabriel's discomfort towards people, he couldn't help that he felt exited. He had finally managed to follow his dream.

Suddenly he could feel a hand on his shoulder, which caused him to show his elbow backwards towards the person the hand belonged to.

Gabriel could feel his elbow met what he knew was a stomach. "Ugh!" A gruff voice grunted in pain. This caused Gabriel to turn around to observe the voice's owner.

A tall tan brown haired man stood there grunting in pain while holding his hands to his abdomen. "I'm sorry" Gabriel said with panic in his tone while he tried to help the man.

"You are quite the scared cat" the man chuckled a bit while he got up on his feet again. "I'm so sorry, I didn't intend to…" The man looked down on Gabriel and smiled. "No need to worry, after all I was the one who startled you. Nice to meet you by the way, my name is Luke Arnold" Gabriel showed a faint smile while he presented himself. "It's nice to meet you too, my name is William Stone".

They kept on their conversation and found out they were attending the same classes and shared most of their interests. Gabriel didn't tell anything too personal due to his hatred towards his past.

Finally, their classes had started, and Gabriel listened closely and noted everything of value. They started off easily since they were learning about the digestive system which didn't create any difficulties.

However, Gabriel felt multiple glances towards him during the day. He thought he had already made people despise him because of the school gate incident. His thoughts wandered off as he ate a chicken sandwich from the old fashion cafeteria. The bricks and plants made the place more elegant which stood in contrast with the white lunch-tables.

"Hey! Are you listening?" Luke asked while he drank his coffee. "Sorry, I was lost in my own thoughts. Can you repeat what you were talking about?" Gabriel said without any emotions.

"Well, I was telling you about how your appearance has stirred up the students and teachers in campus" The white table was placed in a corner surrounded by plants and old fashioned pictures of previous beasts. "I noticed. It must be caused of the school gate incident" It took a while before Luke noticed that William's answer was meant in a negative way.

"No, it isn't like that bro. They admire your unique look and distant personality; they also know you managed to enter the school due to your brains." Luke said with admiration in his eyes. Gabriel didn't care about that kind of attention, since he is going to ignore it. Luke continued: "I wish I could become as popular as you, then I could attract my crush who doesn't even know of my existence".

"I'm sure you will be able to attract her" Gabriel encouraged Luke. They exchanged faint smiles as they kept on laughing about bad jokes and dumb rumors.

The rest of the day went quick and without any further complications.

The evening did slowly reach the city and Gabriel did just wake up from his faint power nap.

-I should get a job, my money is slowly running out and I should also try to increase my current level in the system. Maybe the best chance to hit two birds with one stone is to start raiding dungeons and collect artifacts to sell. If I do so I need to do it in the weekends to prevent missing out at school, and to keep on doing own study in the weekdays-

Gabriel sighed; well he should search for dungeons which will appear on Friday. However, he felt extremely happy. He had for the first time in his entire life gotten a best friend.
