A pair of black eyes was staring tensely at a pair of curious blue eyes.

It seemed each time they had problem, they were always staring to each other.

Zhou Zhiqiang swallowed discreetly as he stared at the blond man cautiously.

The man was still staring at him in interested expression. He seemed really curious with Zhiqiang's reply as he did not say anything and was just waiting him. He looked so innocent and harmless as he was staring at him like a curious kid.

If not for the bloods that were staining the man body as if he just took a bath in blood, Zhiqiang would not remember the cruel scene that happened before.

After another tensed minutes, Zhiqiang finally forced his body to relax and cleared his throat lightly. "Thank you for your help just now." He said as casually as he could, referring about killing the monster that attacked him before.

The blond man stared at him for another minute in silence before a bright smile was suddenly growing at the man's lips. Even the blue eyes were glinting in delight.

"Anything for you, pretty doll." The man said in teasing tone that somehow made Zhiqiang breathed in relief. He did not know why, but he felt like he just passed a test just now.

Zhiqiang cleared his throat again. He moved his body from the van as casually as he could, even though his eyes were watching the man cautiously from the corner of his eyes. He did not know why he did it, but he secretly stuffed the man's documents into his backpack.

With a casual voice, he called to the man. "Here, this should be the key for your cuffs," he said as he threw the key ring that he found before to the blond man.

The man caught the key easily and raised it to the front of his eyes. He smirked at the black haired man before using the key to release the shackles on his arms. Although the chain was broken, his limbs were still shackled by the cuffs.

Zhiqiang watched him clicking the shackles for a while before he turned away to look at their surroundings. There were only tall grasses everywhere, but smell of blood from the monster's carcass was thick. "We have to go before this place become dangerous. The blood must be attracting another beast now."

Zhiqiang actually did not want to go with the psychopath. But he did not have much choice as he knew being with other people was better than alone. He also had a lot of question that he wanted to ask about the disaster.

The blond man just hummed in low tone. He followed Zhiqiang who was already walking ahead.

Zhiqiang paused as he suddenly noticed the man was bringing something. "What is that?" he asked as he stared pointedly at the bloody thing that the man brought in his hand

The man looked down to his hand too. He grinned teasingly as he raised the bloody thing in his hand and shook it playfully. "It is our dinner, doll."

Zhiqiang frowned as he stared at the bloody 'dinner'. It was a big animal leg, he noticed. It must be the monster's leg. It is true a dog meat could be eaten, but it was mutated, right?

He decided to not say anything and walk again. He paused as he remembered something. He turned at the man with pursed lips. "I told you not to call me that. My name is Zhou Zhiqiang." He said in irritation.

The man raised his eyebrow and stared at him curiously. But he still moved his lips to say the name. "Zhou…Zhiqiang?" he called awkwardly with his English tongue.

The man frowned and tried again in weird tone. "Zhou Zhiqiang… Zhou Zhiqiang… Zhou Zhiqiang…"

"Pfftt!!" Zhiqiang closed his lips with hand immediately to hide laugh. But the man still noticed it as he turned at him in silence. His wronged face instantly made Zhiqiang could not hide his laugh anymore.

Zhiqiang coughed lightly to stop his laugh, but a chuckle was still released by him. The corner of his lips was twitching hard as he tried to keep his laugh.

"You have a beautiful smile." The blond man suddenly commented.

Zhiqiang choked in surprise. He coughed a few times and glared coldly at the man. But a red flush was sneaking up to his ears without permission.

The blond man stared interestedly at his red ears.

"You can call me Dom, babe." The blond man, Dominick Black, declared out all of sudden.

Zhiqiang just sneered at the man, before walking ahead in a huff.

Dominick just stared at his back in interested expression before an almost imperceptible smile was curled on his lips. Without saying anything, he followed the black haired man direction.

They were walking to the convenience store direction.

Zhiqiang let out a relief breath as there was not another mutated beast that attacked them in the road. But unfortunately, the convenience store was in half ruin. There was a huge tree that was breaking through the side of building.

Zhiqiang carefully entered the building under the ruin walls, wrinkling his nose as he smelled an unpleasant stinks from the food section. Almost all raw food was expired, full of mold and fungus everywhere. There were only the dry packed foods that were still edible. He packed a lot of hardtacks and canned foods into his backpack. He also picked extra water bottle from the shelves. Seeing his backpack was full, he used a basket from the store to place them temporary.

He browsed other selves in the store that was still intact to see what things he would need anymore. He blinked in surprise seeing the blond man sat on the cashier desk in lazy position with a cigarette between his fingers.

Dominick gave him a teasing smirk as he smoked the cigarette. "Done with the shopping, babe?" he asked so casual as if he was not in the middle of ruin building but really just waiting him for finished shopping.

Zhiqiang frowned at him. Then he stared at the bloody clothes that the man wore for a moment before frowning further. This store did not sell clothes. So he had to look them in other places.

He sighed before calling the other man. "Come on, if you have to walk with me, then you better get rid of those bloody clothes." He grumbled at the man. Did he not know that the blood was attracting the beast?!

Dominick raised his eyebrow at him. Then without caring he took off his bloody shirt and threw it away. He would take off his pants too if not for a glare that he got from the younger man. Zhiqiang glared at him coldly before walking off from the store.

Dominick chuckled as he picked his 'dinner' again from the floor before following the other man.

They walked for a while before finding a relative secure store that did not have many plants.

It was men clothes store, one of the reasons Zhiqiang decided to stop at the store.

The door of the store was not locked. It must be open when the disaster came. He looked around inside the store but not finding the staffs or the owner of the store.

Without being asked, Dominick immediately browsed the clothes in the racks.

Zhiqiang looked around for a while before noticing a staircase behind the cashier desk. He walked toward it in curious. He glanced at the blond man for a moment before deciding to climb to upper floor.

There was a locker room in the second floor. It must be a staff room. He walked toward the door beside the locker room. It was not locked as he opened it carefully. Behind the door was a small apartment. There was a small living room connected with a kitchen, bathroom and a bed room.

The apartment was also empty.

He looked at the cup of coffee and a plate of some dark brown mushy thing full of molds that looked like an omelet before molding. The owner of this place must be having a breakfast, before walking out the store when the disaster came. So there was no one in this place right now.

Zhiqiang placed the basket he brought and his backpack on the living room before sitting in the sofa with a tired sigh. It was not even two hours since he walked out of his apartment, but he felt so tired. His stomach also felt hungry as if he had not eaten a pack of biscuit and a few can meats before came out.

An occasional sharp sting on his body reminded him that he was hurt by the monster. Zhiqiang quickly took off his jacket and his shirt to check his wound. He frowned as he looked at his chest.

He strode to the bathroom and picked up a clean towel. Then he wetted the towel with clean water from bottle and used it to clean the blood on his chest.

Zhiqiang furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at the scratch wound on his chest.

There was three long cut on his chest which was from the sharp claw of the beast. It was a bit deep, but the bleeding was already stopped a long ago even without his interference. The wounds were a bit red and swelling, but new tissues were already forming and starting to close the wound, directly finishing the inflammation process. It was only about an hour since he got the wound, but it was already healing.

He thought he would need to suture the wounds when he first got them. But if they continued like this, the wounds would heal on their own in few days without even need a suturing. It was certainly ten times faster than normal.

Zhiqiang turned around to look at the wound on his back. There was also a long clawed wound from his side to his back. He did not know how deep the wound before, but he was sure it was deep as he saw a lot of blood stain on his shirt. But the wound on his side was also in the same state as the wound on his chest. They already started healing.

Zhiqiang rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he stared at his wound through mirror. So it was not his imagination that his body recovery was a lot faster than normal.

Zhiqiang walked back toward sofa in living room and took out his medicine kit from the backpack. He took a bottle of alcohol, cotton, bandages and antibiotics.

From the state of recovery, it seemed the wounds would be healed in a few days even if he left them like this. But remembering about the mutated maggots, he could not help but thinking about bacteria and other microorganisms in fear. He did not want any infection on his wound because of his negligence, so he decided to take care of the wounds.

He hissed a bit as the alcohol was poured on his wound. He carefully cleaned his wound before warping them in bandage. He also skillfully took care of the wound on his back and put on a new shirt.

"You are hurt." The blond man's sound was heard coldly from the door of apartment.

Zhiqiang raised his head to see him brought a lot of clothes on his right hand and the monster leg on his left hand. The blond man stopped in front of him with a frowning face.

It was a displeasure expression, Zhiqiang realized. The man was angry about his wounds?

"It is nothing. I got them from the monster before meeting you." He tried to explain. But instead of feeling appease, the displeasure on the man's face was darken even further. The man was glaring to monster leg as if he wanted to kill it again.

Zhiqiang did not know whether to feel moved or scared as he remembered a psychopath diagnose on the man's documents.

Zhou Zhiqiang then remembered the man was also bit by the beast when they were fighting.

"Your shoulder!!" He stood up in surprise as he saw the shoulder of the man was not hurt.

Dominick had not wearing the clothes and the blood from the monster was also already wiped clean so his upper body was bare to him.

Zhiqiang did not notice them before because he did not want to deal with a psychopath. But now, Zhiqiang paid attention to him, he realized the man did not have any wound on his shoulder.

"How can be?!" He asked in shocked as he checked the man's right shoulder. He circled around the man body to make sure he did not misplace the wound. But after carefully checking, the man really did not have any wound.

He touched the man's right shoulder and immediately felt a different. After a closer look, he noticed there were traces of bite wound on the skin. But there was only a bit of peel skin and pink mark from the biting as if being bit by a puppy teeth and not a monstrous mutated dog. The trace was not even deep and there was also no blood.

He rubbed the skins, feeling the skins somewhat hard and thick. Strange, was this like his body recovery? The man had a hard skin?! He thought curiously as he took a closer look with his dark eyes.

So immersed in his new discovery, Zhiqiang did not notice a pair of arm discreetly warped around his waist. So he yelped in surprise when his body suddenly pulled closer to the man body. His nose was even crashed to the man's hard shoulder in surprise.

"Hey!"

Zhiqiang rubbed nose and glared at the man in irritation. "What are you doing?!"

Dominick just grinned at him innocently and warped his arms even tighter on the younger man's body. Sweet scent mixed with medicines reached his nose, causing him wanting to take a sniff. So Dominick immediately buried his nose on the younger man's neck and inhaled in a deep breath.

It really smelled so sweet. Dominick thought in curious as he breathed even deeper on the sweet scent.

Zhou Zhiqiang immediately frozen into stiff once the blond man was sniffing his neck. A red flush was soon sneaking up on his neck. Feeling an embarrassment out of nowhere, he gritted his teeth and spat coldly at the man. "Stop, let go of me."

Dominick raised his face lightly seeing the red flush on the neck. He lifted the corner of his lips and kissed the red skin greedily. "Mmnn, don't wanna. You tasted sweet," he replied ambiguously as he sucked the flushing neck.

The flush was raised even higher to his cheek. Zhiqiang kicked the man's leg in anger. But instead of soft skin, he felt like kicking a stone, causing his feet was in pain. He felt like screaming in anger and embarrassment. He struggled to get out of the man's hug, but the man's arms was so strong and only made him felt tired in struggling. His height which was only reached the man's shoulder also did not help a bit.

"Damn it!! You pervert!!" He cursed aloud in frustrated voice. He bit hard the man's shoulder to release his anger. But Zhiqiang immediately regretted it as the skin was so hard! His jaw felt ached because of it! He rubbed his jaw with a frustrated scowl.

"Hahahah…" Dominick chucked aloud seeing the younger man's action. He warped his arms even tighter to hug the younger man in excitement as if he just found a precious gem. "You are so cute!"

The red flush on his cheek was immediately become redder. Zhiqiang glared hard at the man as if he wanted to kill him with his glare.

Dominick only grinned widely. He kissed the corner of the younger man's lips before finally relenting to release his arms.

Zhiqiang immediately jumped back to avoiding him in a huff. He glared at the man as warning to not walk closer to him, before taking his medicine kit again and sat further in the corner of room.

The blond man just smirked at his action and took his monster carcass toward the kitchen side to make a dinner.

After making sure the blond man would not do any weird thing to him again, Zhiqiang finally relaxed his guard. He took an antibiotic pill and drank it with clear water. He closed his medicine kit again and stored it in his backpack.

Even though Zhiqiang did not want to, he still had to talk with the blond man again. So he picked some canned food from his backpack and a bottle of water before walking toward the man in the kitchen.

Dominick was skinning his monster leg on the floor when Zhiqiang approached him.

Zhiqiang took a seat on the floor a distance away from the man. He peeled open his canned food and used a spoon he took from kitchen to eat the tomato soup inside. He watched the blond man processing his dinner as he sated his hunger slowly.

He noticed the way the man moved his knife was so skillful. In short time, the monster's skin was already skinned cleanly. The blond man must be used to do this a lot before, because he cut the monster's meat into thin pieces so easily as if it was a fruit and not a thick meat instead. Afterward the man placed all pieces of meat into a bowl and threw away the rest. He took the bowl to faucet and cleaned them with water.

"You know that we cannot use electricity, right? There is no gas to cook the meats." Zhiqiang said to the man as he watched him pour some seasoning and spice into the meats.

Dominick paused and titled his head at him. A smirk playfully painted on his lips as he teased the younger man, "Don't worry, doll. Just left them all to me, you just wait and sit there beautifully, and the dinner will be done in no time."

Zhiqiang glared immediately once he heard the man teasing him again. He huffed and pulled his tomato soup even closer. But eventually he realized he still had to talk to the man seriously, so he sighed and turned to watch the man again. Dominick raised his eyebrow seeing him making a trouble expression.

"You…since when your skin become so hard?" Zhiqiang decided to ask the most recent things first.

Dominick raised his other eyebrow, but he did not look really surprise that Zhiqiang was asking them. He must be already expecting him to ask.

"Well, since I woke up I guess…" Dominick hummed in low tone, picking up a large iron bowl from the cupboard and placed them on the floor. "Though, I did not realize them until the beast bit me. It was when I did not feel hurt from the bit that I notice something unusual with my body." He continued to explain casually.

Zhiqiang widened his dark eyes as he heard his explanation. As he expected, the change of their body must be related with this disaster. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he thought about mutated dog, maggots and plants. If all living thing in the city was changed because of this disaster, then the human would also be included.

Then as if reading his thought, the blond man said again to him.

"Why, doll, are you feeling changes in your body too?" Dominick asked with a smirk.
