18 Patient #5- Yang Hongseok

Hongseok had not been able to control his emotions since he was very young.

He would be in a good mood, a great mood, but one thing would happen and he would get upset. He felt very misunderstood, considering his family were not the 'emotional' type.

There was no one incident for Hongseok.

He had to hold in his emotions as best as he could, especially in his teenage years. His parents took no disrespect, nor did they give him any opportunities to explain himself.

Overall, he was never allowed to be himself, even with his own family.

He thought that would make him stronger, because that's what his family told him. If you don't cry, you'll be stronger, you'll learn self control.

But that wasn't Hongseok. He was emotional.

He remembered things getting better after he moved out and started college. He joined the weight lifting team at his college and began taking classes on physical fitness. He put his energy into getting into shape and working on school work.

He actually did get better, and wasn't crying or getting angry as often.

Hongseok was actually okay before he was checked into the Pentory State Mental Institution. He checked himself in for an unknown reason.

The rest of his story is confidential.
