Blocking his mind from the sun, the emperor looked to the streets that had been awash with the blood of humans. In his glance he saw nothing to even hint that the violent struggle had taken place. 

After the fighting in the capital had stopped, everyone had moved quickly to clean the streets and repair all the damage done, at least in the parts of the city they cared about.
