As he sat at his desk in his office later in the afternoon, Jacob Maxwell was reviewing documents and notes regarding a potential deal that was in the works when he suddenly became distracted by a phone call that was placed to his work line. He answered it after three rings and spoke briefly with the caller before excusing himself in order to return the call, which happened to be his girlfriend Rachel who lived nearby. The two lovers often chatted via text messages and telephone calls throughout the week, which enabled them to spend time together on most days even when they couldn't manage to meet face to face due to their busy schedules, but today they had planned an evening date at a popular restaurant in town because they wanted to see each other again soon.
