Then I saw the look of concern wash over his face and he sighed heavily as he whispered, "Don't worry, Mia. I'm sure you haven't missed anything important. At least nothing that can't wait until tomorrow. Anyway, I've talked to the police officers assigned to watch over your building since you called them earlier. They've assured me that they'll keep watching over the area until you get back."
That comment made me frown as I glanced around the room uneasily before replying slowly, "The police won't be enough. I've seen the security cameras in here before and I can tell that none of them are connected to the internet. So I'm pretty sure that I'm safe here for now. At least, I don't think that anybody is in my apartment right now..."
