25 Chapter 25: Sincerely Yours

Lia felt a ping of distress as Ryan had had to cut their date short after receiving an urgent call from his company’s attorney the previous day.

She had been driven home by his company driver. However, nothing could push her down from the cloud she was floating on.

“Where is Ryan?” Dawn asked when Lia arrived downstairs where everyone gathered ready to go dress fitting.

“He didn’t come home last night,” Lia responded and Dawn raised her brow.

“Where did he sleep?” She queried.

Lia shrugged, “Probably he pulled an all-nighter at work.”

Again Dawn had a look of disbelief on her face. “Really--now?”

“His lawyer called yesterday when we were together. He took the phone call privately, and when he returned, he had a look of pure worry on his face and informed me that he had some work things needing to be settled,” Lia said.

“And that explains him not coming home?” Dawn asked.
