26 Chapter 26: Raph's Apology

Dell had a skip in her step when she arrived the office.

"Any appointments for the day?" She asked her secretary when she arrived.

"Actually..."

Dell rushed into her room, and there, as her secretary had informed her, was Raphael waiting for her.

"Raph!" She exclaimed as she came in.

Raph stood up from the sofa he was sitting on in her office. "Hey, I hope it's not too inconvenient for you that I dropped by unannounced."

"No, no, it's fine. But, what are you doing here?"

Raph sighed. "I felt bad about the party. I came here to apologize."

"There's really no need, Raph. It wasn't really your fault."

"I wish I can honestly say that. Anyway, did you and your boyfriend make up?"

"Yeah, we... came to an agreement eventually... We're fine now."

"That's good to hear, I guess. I mean, I wouldn't want to be the cause of anything unpleasant in your life."

Dell laughed. "Thank you for your concern. I appreciate it. I truly do." She smiled at him.

"Well, I'm glad." He beamed. "Hey, we should have coffee some time. Catch up and all. I mean, I'd love to know what happened to you after college."

"S-sure. Let's set something up."

"Great! How's Friday?"

Dell blinked. Already? She assumed it was merely a sort of pleasantry. But, hey. "Friday's good! 4pm?"

"I'll be here."

Belatedly realizing they were both standing before her sofa, she said, "Oh, won't you sit down?"

"Oh, I won't keep you anymore. I just came here to apologize." He smiled again. "See you Friday, then."

Dell sat, smiling before her desk. Progress! She liked progress. Well, it wasn't quite a date. It was just coffee. But it was a level up from business meeting. She wasn't going to rush Raphael. She would play this nice and slowly. Now, if only Sean would cooperate and stop trying to make her feel things.
