1 CHAPTER 1

It was 4 in the morning and Axel Bond's phone rang until he woke up. He slowly took his phone from the table and checked who called him. He rubbed his eyes and jumped from his bed because his missed the call from the director of DRO. He called him back and enquired about the reason of the call. On hearing the matter his heart beated fast and asked the director James Cole "I can't believe it sir, this isn't possible. James replied "You have to believe it Axel. The officials at the mission control is confused by the unknown transmission coming through and now it is the duty of the DRO to untie the secrets behind this unknown transmission coming through from an unknown source. I order you to contact the other 5 members of DELTA TEAM and come to our laboratory as soon as possible." Axel replied "Yes sir, me and the team members will reach the laboratory by 7 a.m. One more thing sir, my parents are not here so will you please allow my brother to come with me". James replied "Yes, bring him with you but make everything fast." Within no time Axel contacted the other 5 members of the Delta Team and asked them to come to the laboratory fast. One of the crew member was in the hospital so Axel asked him not to come to the laboratory. All other crew members reached the DRO laboratory before 7 a.m.

"Axel Bond, Lucy Edwards, Phil Parker, Casey Zack and Madeleine Swann are the members of the delta team and are good scientists we could rely on" said the assistant of James. Axel asked James "Sir, please say what is happening, I can't believe what you said in the morning". The other 3 members asked Axel "why did you ask us to come here?". James said "I have the answer for all your questions. But before that you need to go through some words in a story by a late scientist named Edwardo Collins". Fred Bond said aloud "I've read that story, its kinda funny after the introduction". "You are right kid" said James. The story starts like this: "On a Hamiltonian era, strange waves were received by the big mouthed antennas of IASA. It was recognised that a strange noise was transmitted from an unknown planet. While in earth, people in the mission control was confused of an unknown transmission coming through. The next morning, people to people, 1 to 100, 100 to 1000 and so on were infected by the strange noise. People's faces were deformed, bloody and disgusting. That day, the whole world was woken into an unknown wave which could potentially destroy the human kind."

Lucy laughed and asked "what's the relation of these words with the present day situation?" "Don't laugh Lucy" said James. Madeleine asked James "Sir, please tell us what's wrong". James replied "Let me come to the point. I've asked you guys to come here because of a serious issue. The things that's written in that story is coming true. The IASA had already reported of an unknown transmission coming from an unknown place early in the morning. The problem is that the people at IASA are infected by that strange wave. The infected people are now looking like zombies". Phil said "shit!! I hate zombies". James replied "I said they are like zombies and not zombies. Actually their faces are deformed and bloody." "How do you know that" asked Axel. James replied "CCTV footages shows that". "So what should we do" asked Madeleine. James replied "You should research about the waves and don't forget to wear hazard response suits while researching. I am going out to see what's happening around and to meet the President". Hours went by and they had no clue of what was happening outside. Axel called James by phone and there wasn't any response. The crew was afraid because they feared that James would too become like a zombie.

Madeleine said "The DRO is equipped with state of art features and security systems and it also has a super telescope at the 28th floor for examining the surroundings as well". Fred said "Hey Madeleine we will die of hunger". Axel and Madeleine laughed and said "don't worry kid we won't die of hunger because the DRO stores eatables and other things in the 4th and 5th floor. We won't run out of food till the next year". Fred replied "that's cool". Axel asked the crew members to find out more about the strange waves and said me and Madeleine would go to the telescope room to check the surroundings. Axel and Madeleine entered the elevator and he pressed 28.The elevator started moving upwards. Madeleine said "Axel, will we be alive?" He replied "We will do this together Maddie". She said "We can dream of that". Axel replied "if we try sincerely any dream would come true". She smiled and said "I'm afraid Axel, please be with me". "I'll be with you until I die" said Axel. "That's all what I wished to hear" said Madeleine. The elevator reached the 28th floor and they walked towards the telescope room. He looked through the telescope and he found nothing suspicious and said "Maddie, there is nothing wrong outside". Madeleine replied "Lemme check". She zoomed the telescope more and found that humans were transformed into some other living things. She called Axel and asked him to look again. He too saw what she saw. She said "They are looking like bloody zombies". Axel took some photos of them and they went downstairs. They displayed that pictures on the big screen and asked the crew members to say what they think. Lucy shouted "what the hell are those pictures". Madeleine said "We have to accept the truth. These are the pictures taken from our surroundings and I think that humans who are infected by that waves are getting converted like this". The crew members said "Let's name that strange wave and the new variety of humans"

Madeleine said "let's name the infected human beings as pseudo beings". "That's a nice name said" the crew members. Fred said "beta wave would be a good name". The crew replied "Agreed, that's a good name". Axel asked everyone to go and research. Phil Parker said "I think we should infect a rat or something with the halo wave". "That's a good idea" said Lucy. Axel said " let's make it fast".

Phil operated the idea and finally they succeeded in infecting a rat with the beta wave. The next step was to observe the changes that will occur on the rat. They safely caged that rat and everyone went to sleep.

It was the next morning and everyone went near the rat in curiosity to see what had happened to the rat. The crew was astonished for a moment and deep silence filled the laboratory as the rat was now completely transformed into a different thing. The rat's eyes were now red in colour, blood was flowing from its mouth and was disgusting. The crew was afraid to conduct more experiments on the rat because they feared that they too will get infected. Fred Bond came near Madeleine and asked her "what's wrong with the rat?" She replied "it is transformed into something else, see its face is getting deformed and it is developing sharp and long teeth." Fred replied "hahaha, it is a ghost rat". Lucy said in a cracked voice "Fred, don't scare us". Fred replied "not us but you". Axel too entered into the conversation and said "stop blabbering Fred, you are good at nothing. At least try to help us. You need to accept the truth that the world is moving to the end". Fred replied "I'm sorry, I would no longer distract you guys". Fred's eyes were filled with tears and he ran to his room. Axel felt sorry for him but he wasn't willing to accept it and said "guys we should check the changed in DNA of the rat. Lucy and Phil check its brain, me and Madeleine would check its cells". They prepared for checking the DNA and other changes. The test lasted for 3 hours and they finally came to a conclusion and it was scary and a common man would think that it is impossible. Axel asked everyone except Fred to come to the meeting hall. Within no time all except Fred came to the meeting hall. Axel started talking and said "Guys, I'm gonna tell what happened to the DNA and the brain of the rat. Me and Madeleine had observed that the DNA of the rat was reconstructed by an external force and I termed it as a 'custom made DNA'". Madeleine said "we spotted many changes in its brain too. We have spotted a lump on the right side of its brain and on further testing we found out that there was a strong magnetic field inside the lump. When we zoomed further onto its neurons it was observed that a radio-active particle was present there". Phil said "I think this beta wave has the capability to convert a living thing to a custom living thing and it will be under the control of an external force". "You've guessed it right Phil" said Axel. Casey Zack said "before coming to a conclusion we need to find out the source from which the halo wave is coming from". "Yes, that's it" said Lucy. Madeleine asked them "how are we gonna find out the source of the halo wave". Axel said "it is pretty easy Maddie. I've observed that the beta wave is visible when we look through a glass which is coated with a silver emulsion on both sides". "You are brilliant" said Madeleine. Casey said "hey Axel, how about coating a silver emulsion on the super telescope and a binocular? "I was thinking of that" said Axel. They then coated a silver emulsion on the super telescope and Phil looked through it. After observing he said "the halo wave is coming from ss...s.s.s.s". "Stop stammering Phil" said Lucy. Madeleine then looked through the super telescope and said "now I know why Phil stammered". Axel asked "what did you saw Maddie?" She replied "the beta wave is coming from the space and a big tower is absorbing it. The beta wave is coming from the space like a laser and it is straight". Casey said "maybe the tower is spreading the beta wave all around the earth". Axel said "that's right. But we haven't seen or heard of that tower". "Maybe it came from under the ground" said Fred. Axel said "I'm not scolding you because it is not the right situation and stop mumbling foolishness. Just think how come a tall tower come from underground? Fred said "you may be a scientist bro, but I'm a common boy and my thoughts won't have any relation with science". Madeleine said "believe me Axel, I think that Fred is right". Axel said "maybe he is right, but we don't have any evidence". "What's the need of the shitty evidence Axel, we are the only people left in the whole earth" said Phil. Axel said "I'm sorry and you are right Phil". Fred said "All we need to do is to crack the shell of this mystery". Madeleine said "will this be the work of aliens from an exoplanet?" Axel said "if it is so we have to gear up for a war!"
