Part 1: The Commencement

A Nuclear apocalypse brought the world to its knees. Innocent souls taken from their sanctuary and millions of different species across the world dying with them. Skeletons scattered over the plains of the earth, the bodies long but fertilisation for the surface. Forgotten faces abandoned, disappearing into what was once known as their life.

Those that still reside on this disfigured sphere, no longer what used to be known as human. Enhanced abilities for some and disfigurations for others. The Flairs, as they call those gifted with abilities all of the female gender. The Mars, the damaged race, are all of the male gender.

A constant fight for survival, peace no longer even a word in their vocabulary. Lawless actions are taken by foolish leaders that could lead to the final extinction of life on their broken planet. A world isolated between who is superior, genders split from one another in a fight for power.

Could a group of highly skilled Flair assassins successfully detach themselves from this cruel environment and fight for what is truly important?

Before the destruction of Earth, the world was at peace. Of course, there were debates and disagreements but no one suspected an apocalypse. If you were to tell a human that they would soon be in misery and pain, they would have laughed in your face and call you crazy. Some would even throw you with the closest object they had on hand. It was strange back then, everyone was too preoccupied in the latest iPhones and apps, what celebrity wore which designer outfit at the recent gala. Humans were simple minded back then, now they don't even exist at all. A simple mind gets you killed and the word human was not used again.

The day was boring and followed the same simple routine as usual. The subtle wind blew from the North and there were only a few cotton balls in the air. The day was warm and the sun lightly touched a person's skin, just enough to make you aware that it's there. Enough to not make you wonder if it disappeared along with the stars and left the world dark and cold.

The trees were faded still from the harsh winter that occurred. It was the usual brumal season it was every year, but the trees seem to still recover from the crisp air. Flowers were especially bright that day. They were waving at those passing by, smiling up towards the warmth the sun provided. A few bees taking advantage and jumping from one bloom to the other.

Children with rosy cheeks ran across their school grounds, hysterically laughing at the little games they so much enjoyed. Busy streets with honking horns and angry people, breweries filled with commotion with those wanting an awakening from their mugs.

It was a regular day like no other. That's how it usually starts. You never truly know how to value something until the memory of it seems like a dream. A vision of what was and questions of what if. Smiles turned into faces of despair and anger. Grief turned into nothing but an emptiness. The numbing eating itself full inside your head. A parasite feasting on the positive things we used to appreciate.

Around midday, the first few nuclear warheads exploded. With each tick of the second hand on the clocks, another made itself known. A regular boring day, turning into screams of agony and death. No children with rosy cheeks playing at school, no flowers waving, no car horns and aroma of coffee brews. Nothing but the sudden wind sweeping away anything in its path, taking lives along with it. The planet no longer a sphere but rather resembling the moon with its craters.

Crevices sprawled out, creating shadows descending to who knows where. A broken surface for a broken world. The darkness that evening took almost a week to be replaced by the sun again. The week of pure gloom took more lives and species than the disaster itself. Disappearing, taking the departed souls with it.

Those souls still lingering around soon discovering that being normal is no longer in question. Women became more aware of their enhanced senses and abilities. Some having strength enough to carry almost a ton, others running fast enough almost disappearing from sight, telepaths, healers and many more. Some unique and others simpler yet powerful. Making use of their new found abilities, the process of helping each other and the surrounding environment became an easier task. Eventually as time went on, the women were known as Flairs, the gifted ones.

Men on the other hand did not have luck on their side. Their appearances long but changed, making some look like an entire new species itself. Some had eyes that resembled that of a snake, others tales like a lion, elf ears, claws and many more. Those were the ones affected the least. A small handful having the worst of all. A few were spotted resembling centaurs, some resembled faun and the rarest of all were the sirens. None of the men had better abilities or enhanced senses, but merely had a change of appearance. Not even the sirens cou
