7 Chapter 7

Fiona woke up with a nasty headache the following day. She was suffering from a terrible hangover. She was trying to sit up, but the pain in her head was not letting her. She wasn't even able to open her eyes. The hangover was excruciating.

After a few minutes, she felt someone helping her to sit, who also gave her a pill and water. Her eyes were still closed, so she assumed it was Grace who was helping her; she willingly accepted it and drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

Fiona woke up again, but at eight in the morning. Her head ached even more. She is a light drinker, and she drank a lot. That's the reason why painkillers have little effect on her body.

She forced herself up, took a bath, and went to the dining area with her coffee. Only coffee could help her to get rid of this hangover. If not rid, then at least it would lessen it a bit.

She took a cup of coffee and sat in front of Justin at the dining table. He was reading the newspaper and threw a worried glance at her. He wanted to talk to her, but he knew that it was not the right time. So, he decided to keep his mouth shut.

Fiona was about to take a sip when her phone rang, and reluctantly, she picked it up.

"I am never going to drink again in my life." Fiona groaned. "Em, you know that I am a light drinker. You should have stopped me after a few shots... Gosh, no shit, Sherlock. I know it's a hangover... My head is killing me... Urg... I am coming... Married or not, I am not skipping work... I don't want to give anyone the wrong impression. (She looked at Justin at this point.)... Okay, see you in a few... Ya."

She again kept her head down. But after a few seconds, she started banging her head on the table. It was hard for Justin to stop himself from chuckling, but that didn't stop her from glaring at him.

When Grace walked in, Fiona instantly looked at her and thanked her. "Thank you so much, Grace, for the pill."

She was shocked when she heard Grace's reply, "Dear, it wasn't me."

Well, being shocked would be an understatement. She looked surprised and guilty at the same time. She thanked Justin and rushed to her room. Justin knew that she was still angry, and he could also tell that she was also feeling guilty at the same time. It wasn't hard to tell, as Fiona's face was flushed with embarrassment when she found it was him instead of Grace who helped her.

After a few minutes, she came into the living area dressed up formally. Justin figured she was going to work. But she was looking up for something.

"Crap!! My car is with Em… Damn you, Em." Fiona muttered.

Justin quickly grabbed his car keys, and when he was about to give them to her, she whispered loud enough for him to hear, "Cab, it is then."

Then she rushed towards the door. But before slamming it, she informed Grace, "Grace, I am going to the office." With that, she left.

Fiona was giving Justin the silent treatment, which hurt him. But this is what he has been doing with her for the past many, many days. This was when he

realized the feelings that Fiona might have felt since their marriage.

Fiona felt bad. Last night, she took out her anger on him, but that didn't stop him from taking care of her this morning. But even so, she wasn't ready to forgive him for what he did to her. So, ignoring him was the best option for her. At least as of now.

It felt like forever, but Fiona finally came home at eight in the evening. The whole day, Justin was thinking of ways to apologize to her. He could have done that at work, but it was better to take a day off. He would have been distracted as it was. So why not take daybreak?

When Justin opened the door, he saw Fiona. She looked beyond exhausted. He wasn't going to take any chances, so he grabbed her arm before she could enter her room. But before Justin could say anything to her, she passed out on him.
